She apologized sincerely, told me the groom was done by a newer groomer and not by her, and offered to make it right by doing the proper sanitary trim and coat and tail work herself once Padme's coat has grown back in. That kind of accountability matters to me. As a small business owner myself, I know the difference between a shop that does not care and a shop dealing with a new hire's mistake, and I am not going to tank someone's business over the second one when the owner stepped up the way she did. I am raising my rating now to reflect that. I will come back and update again after Padme is grown out and I have seen the corrective groom in person. I was looking in the area and came across this pet salon. I have a Husky named Bruno and every summer he sheds his winter coat. I usually do it myself but I wanted to try a service so I took him here. I was a bit nervous at first because he's never been professionally groomed before but the girls did not disappoint!! He looked AMAZING!! Like a brand new doggie super clean and with a brand new coat in. The girls did tell me he was a bit difficult but I appreciate their hard work and determination! It was a little pricey but I know he's a lot of work so it makes sense. They gave him a bath, ear cleaning, nail trim, and the deshedding. Plus easy and flexible with appointment times. Good music had a calming vibe for the pets. Baby is difficult and most places will not take him because of his muzzle but they knew how to handle him. I take my baby Chester Puggington here for his little "Dog Day Spa Day" when I feel like he needs a little more attention. I'm always greeted by Rica and her staff as soon as I walk in and they're all very kind. Most of my interactions are with Rica and I love that she genuinely cares about the dogs people bring in. A lot of groomers don't make the interaction personable and aren't very affectionate to the babies. I've even seen her work very well with nervous or anxious dogs. My first time I ask for a trim and my dog came back trimmed all around and underneath but had a back full of hair sticking up, his tail wasn't trimmed either. My most recent experience at this place in November was even worse I asked for a cut, but explained I didn't won't my dog shaved and when I picked up my dog HIS HAIR WAS ALL GONE, which is a "7" the groomer said why would you think this is okay for a small dog and it's getting cold outside? Not only that I explained to her beforehand I was unsure of the size but I didn't won't him bald, I would have preferred another lit trim saving hair for us to correct once I picked up. Also hair was still left on his tail and his head PLEASE LOOK AT THE RECENT PICTURE BELOW for proof . Sad to say I will NOT be back I rather continue going to Petco and pay $120 because cheaper isn't always better. Customer service here was pleasant, however seeing that I was upset by my visit she didn't offer to deduct 5 or 10 bucks on my visit instead she replied "I will note your file for next time you don't won't a 7" . Horrible place to take your beloved dog. This was the first time I tried this place because his normal groomer moved away. I took my dog here over the weekend and they just shaved him down without giving him his usual haircut. I explained he gets a teddy bear face (that's standard with yorkie's). He was there for six hours! My Yorkie is 5 pounds, how it took two people and six hours to give him a haircut? This is ridiculous. They blamed my dog for being anxious and shakey as to why they took so long. I picked him up and he was shaved down to his skin. I feel so bad taking my dog here. I told them to give him a teddy bear face and they shaved it. I should've known by her tone over the phone that she was frustrated with my dog that it would be a horrible experience. I went to pick him up and I couldn't believe it was the same dog. I called his name several times to make sure it was him. I just wanted to leave so I didn't say anything at the time but when I went to use my credit card, she said she only accepts zelle or cash. She was very rude about the whole transaction and very defensive. The whole vibe threw me off so I paid $120 and left. My dog is five pounds and they changed me $120, took 6 hours and two people to trim him. Worst experience ever. Seems like they're avoiding paying proper taxes by charging cash/zelle. read more
