I know that this used to be a good and local company but no more! I have been paying alot of money for years to All Protection Alarm but somehow they have never managed to find my cabin when alarms were triggered. When I do manage to reach someone from the company, they are very far away and have no idea what i'm talking about when I describe conditions in the national forest. I wouldn't have bothered to write this review after I canceled my contract (after their ridiculous policy that you have to keep them for a whole three years) except for how they responded when my alarm system went crazy after I canceled. I don't know if it's purposeful, but when you cancel, the system that's installed goes into full, deafening, shrieking mode. I called All Protection to ask them how to disable the system and the person answering (on Thursday, November 16 at 2pm) was singularly unhelpful and almost cruel. He said that since i'm no longer a customer they can't help me. He told me that I could look online for ways to how to shut it off. He was so uncaring and rude, even though he could hear the deafening alarms I will tell everyone I know in the San Bernardino National Forest how horrible All Protection is. Don't throw your money away. Go to a security company that actually gives a crap and knows where some of the roads are. read more

Currently have them as alarm system in Big Bear. Have called several times and left messages for sales rep to call with no call back. We've had them for over 25 years, they've never offered to improve old system for better technology. Prices are triple what their competitor offers with improved technology. Yup, we're changing companies. Originally went with them because there were no options, thankfully we have options now. UPDATE since post heard from Gloria with excuses and apologies. Too late, went with competitor. In the security world, we need a company who is proactive NOT reactive. read more

I had to stop by this place for an "after hours" check-in with Big Bear Cool Cabins. It took about 10 minutes, $10, 10 signatures and 10 photocopies to get a 4-digit code that would unlock a box holding the key for my rental cabin. The lady that was in the office at 11pm at night was hanging out, came and politely opened the door. She requested the $10 fee be paid in cash (odd) and continued on her way. The whole process needed some work but I assume this is not all the company does to pay the bills, just one of their services. The location is hard to find from dusk 'till dawn, though I suspect much easier when the werewolves and vampires aren't roaming outside (daytime). read more

This is one of the places you go to pick up keys to a rental cabin. Unfortunately. The keys are just lying on the counter with a piece of paper that has your name on it. However, there are signs everywhere saying "this is a security place and security is the priority" which gives them the excuse to not help you. Had to wait 20 minutes to pick up keys that were lying right there. When I wanted to drop them off later, had to wait for someone to buzz me in, even though it was open :24 hours.: There's no key drop or anything, so don't expect to just drop them off in a slot and be on your way. Extra waste of time, sitting around and waiting. read more

I've had this business for years and, sadly, very disappointed. Called them several times with no response.No one available during snow, left message, no response. Finally had enough and cancelled. I then got a call from their head office in Bend, Oregon and they offered a monthly discount which didn't seem to be reflected in the next bill. I cancelled again and then received a bill for $215 for an AES unit (not further described) and tax of $15. Customer service is terrible. Please contact other Big Bear alarm companies. read more

Since the original owners sold out to the big chain alarm company, the service went down hill greatly. They are the only game in town and they take full advantage of this fact. Rates reflect this and note the attitude displayed below where they respond to one person saying they were hard to find. All Protection posted a picture from a well thought out angle clearly showing the lighted building. I sold my house in Big Bear and had a real problem with getting them to stop service. read more

After 8 years without a single problem I asked All Protection to add a cellular connection to my alarm system instead of a phone line connection. They would only do it if I signed a 3 year contract. I refused so they offered to sell it to me but would not drop the 3 year contract. I found out the original owners sold out to a Big City Oregan. company who treats small town people like idiots. Well we are not. I canceled my alarm monitoring with them and got a new company to monitor and install my new cellular connection with a small town alarm company with great products and a one year contract. read more

Stopped by the get a key for Access Big Bear Cabin Rentals. They were busy but very efficient. They said they were the code compliance for the city of Big Bear Lake. They gave out the keys and had us sign the paper work. Gave us a map so it was so easy to find the cabin. read more

All Protection Alarm system was already installed when we bought our cabin a few years back so we kept it, and were NOT disappointed! We're not in BB most of the time, but we can always count on APA to be on call for us. We've since upgraded with them to the cellular service (too many power outages in the area for hard wired alarms!) and couldn't be happier. We highly recommend All Protection Alarm! read more

This could be the worst experience I have had with a company ever. My dad passed away due to Covid. He also sold the house (escrow closed) the alarm company was servicing the day before he passed. The alarm company refused to cancel my dad's policy without a death certificate. They said it was a security issue and they could do nothing about it. I explained he sold the home as well and I was told there was nothing they could do without a death certificate. Due to Covid, receiving a death certificate is taking much longer than usual. The company did inform me that if the new owners who bought my deceased dad's home were to sign a new contract they could cancel my dad's contract no problem. What happened to the security issue? This was the most difficult company I have had to deal with during this very trying time. I had to make 7 separate phone calls and emails to finally get his resolved. From cable to gas to credit cards to banks, everyone was incredibly accommodating except All Protection Alarm. I would stay away from this company at any cost. I added the www.alarm.com away from home thermostat control to the security system already in place. Brad is the sale person and he also installs the system. I would recommend to contact Brad to do it in your home. It took a couple of days for the system to run. Now I can set up temperature on my pc, turn on/off the thermostat from my tablet. It's the best system I have seen. I expect the cost to be paid by reducing my energy cost within a couple of months. And no risk in winter if temperatures drop. And it's fun.
