This year (2022) I went with NW Backflow again because they make it convenient and and I expected things to go without a hitch as did the 2021 test and passing results. Unfortunately, this year did not go so well. I came home to see that my beautiful Rhododendron tree had been butchered and hacked by the test technician (Rachel the owner) unnecessarily! I was fuming. I got into contact with Rachel and I was told that the valve box was inaccessible (which is not true) and the at the tree limbs were "poking at her hair" so she took it upon her self to butcher the tree that is located adjacent to the valve box claiming she couldn't conduct the test without doing so and that the fine print in her "terms of agreement" granted her the right to do so with impunity. Never once did she apologize, empathize and or make it right by offering to refund the $45.00 test fee which really floored me the most. Her cavalier and callous attitude will be the reason I will NEVER use NW Backflow again and I vehemently oppose anyone else using them either. There's other options out there people and I suggest you give your hard- earned money to a better company that cares about its clients.

We almost went with another company but they charged a $90 service fee and couldn't give us a ballpark estimate over the phone. Not knowing if the job was $100 or $500+, it was hard to commit. After calling around, Beaverton Plumbing stood out- they charge by the hour with no service fee, were friendly from the first call, and were able to schedule someone for the next day. Our plumber, Paul, came by and swiftly replaced the flapper, noticing a couple of other failing parts as well. He recommended changing them out without being pushy, and the parts were very reasonably priced ($45 for a new fill valve and supply tube). He completed the work in under an hour. Unfortunately, over the next few days we noticed the tank kept refilling every 3-5 minutes, and we were losing gallons of water a day from what seemed like an unresolved leak. I called Beaverton Plumbing and they sent Paul back out, charging only a "continuation of service" fee rather than a full new hourly rate. After digging a little deeper, he found a leaky gasket and replaced it, and also fixed a wobbly flush handle that was affecting the fill. We were relieved not to shell out another $300, and this time, the issues were fully resolved. A couple of things worth noting: - They charge an $8 fee for credit card payments and don't accept digital payments. Their processing system seems a bit dated... our plumber had to call the office to relay my card info over the phone. - There's no tip option, which I'd encourage them to add. Tipping is optional, but it's a standard way to recognize service that goes above and beyond, and we would have loved to show Paul some extra appreciation. Overall, we were very happy with Beaverton Plumbing. Don't let other reviews scare you off. Like any small business, sometimes you just have to take a chance, and you might be pleasantly surprised.

After discussing the job and confirming what could be tried to remedy the flange problems, Jack got right to work and never stopped working until the job was completed. The Owner was awesome in making sure I was getting the best person for the job and following up with me to make sure I was happy. We still have more plumbing needs at our home and I plan to continue to work with Beaverton Plumbing, especially if Jack can be part of the mix. I called Sutherland to get an estimate for replacing my water heater after my neighbor's unit…read morestarted leaking. Since all of our homes were built around the same time, I assumed my water heater was also 17 years old and might need replacement soon. After I sent photos of my water heater and the model details, Ti took the time to look up the serial/model number on the Bradford White website and discovered that my unit was actually only 11 years old, not 17 as I had thought. He texted me back and asked for clearer photos to confirm the manufacturing date. I called him right away, and even though I currently have no issues with my water heater, he generously spent time explaining everything in detail. He told me that Bradford White is a very reliable water heater and that this model generally does not require routine tank draining for maintenance. He also gave me valuable advice for the future, recommending that when I eventually replace the unit, I should install it on a metal drain pan with moisture detection for leak protection. I was genuinely impressed by his honesty, knowledge, and willingness to help without trying to sell me something I don't need right now. He could have easily pushed for a replacement, but instead he gave me thoughtful, professional advice and saved me unnecessary expense. I truly appreciate the time he spent helping me over the phone, and I would absolutely recommend Sutherland to anyone looking for an honest and knowledgeable professional.

The water suddenly stopped running in my house - well, not exactly, it would run for a few seconds and then stop. I asked my neighbors and their water was all running fine. Portland Water Bureau said it wasn't their problem. So I called Sutherland Plumbing randomly, and we did some trouble shooting over the phone. It looked like it may be a VERY expensive issue in the pipe between the house and the street. Ti Sutherland found a time to come by, since this was kind of an emergency since we couldn't shower, and he found the problem in just a couple of minutes. Turned out it was only the HOT water that was being stopped, and it was a janky flood prevention device that had been installed with the water heater. The batteries died and it shut off the flow. Replaced the batteries, and boom! We're all fixed. Ti actually got a big kick out of the whole process. Solving problems is his bag. Highly recommend.

We gave them 2 months to get our system tested and they failed. The water company will throw it in your water bill anyways if it is not done by their due date. Hope they go out of business. We reported them to the Better Business Bureau as well and said they have had quite a few complaints so far about this company.

They don't provide a copy of the report, just a sign on your door whether you passed or failed.
