First, let me say... when your central air conditioning system suddenly starts to warm up (despite being "serviced" recently with another company) and it is the start of a heat wave, it is extremely upsetting and scary. I put out a request for companies to respond to my great need. A few responded, but it was Roman at Purified Air whose response was not only quick, but was sympathetic and showed care and compassion. He came that same day and went into the attic, video-taped the areas of concern and gave me a quote to replace my system which was at least 22 years old. The team of Miguel and David arrived on the day scheduled, were careful to treat my house with respect and worked efficiently - through the intense attic heat. I called Roman out to check out my AC System from a few millennia after the beginning of the Cenozoic Era. As expected it was not going to be able to be replaced. Have nothing but good things to say about Roman. He was able to come out to my house same day and fix my broken central air conditioning. Not only did he get it back up and working for me quickly, he also spotted an unrelated maintenance / safety shutoff issue that I knew was a problem already (I just forgot about it). **UPDATE** | want to update my original review by saying that Roman reached out after this was posted and acknowledged that the service that was provided was not up to his standards, and he graciously refunded me my service fee. We all have off days, and I really appreciate his candor and circling back to me. After we realized one of our rooms wasn't getting airflow from our AC unit, I searched in yelp to find someone to help us figure out the issue. This company popped up for me, and even though there was a $100 service fee, with all the positive reviews, I felt confident that this company could help with our issue. Roman came and looked at the vent from the room side, and then climbed a ladder to look into the attic where the AC ducting pipes are. However, he couldn't see the pipe from the ladder/attic opening and never checked where the faulty pipe was actually located, which would require him to climb into the small attic space. Despite not seeing or looking at the affected ducting pipe, he told us it would be $1200 to replace it and fix our issue. I didn't quite understand how he could come to this conclusion without actually seeing the pipe, and he insisted this was what needed to happen. This didn't make sense to me, and before I paid the $100 service fee, I called again, wondering if we could just have someone else come back and actually look at the pipe. He said when they come and do the $1200 job, they would. Disappointed, I reluctantly paid the $100 service fee, but didn't really feel like we got a real assessment. Fast forward to a week later, we had someone from another company come who immediately jumped into the attic to look at the AC ducting pipe without us even saying anything, and lo and behold, the pipe to that AC vent was just squished down, blocking the air flow from going to that room. I ended up with a bill of about $200 and our issue is completely fixed. read more
