They owe me $3000. I paid them to fix my car, and they said they are not getting parts from their supplier.

After days of searching, using parameter *they demanded*, provided them with 1) a 100% match to their required parameters (which there was only 1 left), and 2 perfectly good 98% match options (of which were many). Then it was like they disappeared off the earth for 2 weeks - no response. I finally got them to respond, and they basically told me to eff off that if I wasn't going to "follow their demands to the very letter" they weren't going to help me. Like *I* was wasting their time. Why was *I* the one tasked with finding my own parts anyway -- they're supposed to be the "experts", or did they just brush me off with bs scut work hoping I'll just go away because I'm a girl with some actual mechanical knowledge. Either way SUPER unprofessional and total city. Don't trust them. Not good to their word/untrustworthy. Sent me on a very specific "wild goose chase" to find a new engine for my suv. I have been going to Gary's for over a decade now and they always do good work for me. I've brought…read morethem some very strange issues that other shops were unable to diagnose and they've never failed me and have always been honest and gotten the job done right. I've had everything from small jobs (check engine lights, pulleys) to diagnosing and replacing the transfer case on my truck (they found me a great deal on a used transfer case that has been working great for almost 10 years!). I once had the pleasure of getting a ride back to the shop to pick up my car from the owner and he seems like a genuinely good person and seemed to really care about taking care of his employees and customers. This week, I called them because I was desperate to find someone to reseal a leaking window on my van. They talked through it with me, and since they aren't an autobody / glass shop they referred me to Big Rig Glass who did a fantastic job. They've referred me to other shops in the past for specialty work and it has always worked out great.

If I could give 0 stars, I would!…read more I first went to Gary's to have my thermostat replaced back in May 2024. About a month ago, my car's engine began overheating again. Now thermostats are suppose to last around 10 years average, but the one I had installed was less than two years old. Since it was still under warranty, I took my car back to Gary's to have it looked at. They later told me that they ran some "heat test" and determined that the thermostat was fine, that the water pump was the problem. This was a LIE, as I had the water pump replaced last summer, it was practically still new! They had also LIED to me about the thermostat - which was indeed the problem. But they never actually inspected it. I had to have somebody else take out that cheap, faulty thermostat and replace it with a new better quality one. The one that Gary's put in was a cheap part that got a piece of plastic caught in it, preventing it from moving. It simply failed, YEARS before it otherwise should have. And Gary's would have known this, had they actually did a tear down and removed the part to inspect it. In other words, THEIR JOB. Instead, they lied to me and "recommended" I have my well-operating water pump replaced... which they would do for $839! So ultimately, I ended up having to pay a COMPETENT, trustworthy, non-thieving mechanic to fix Gary's f### up. Stir clear of this place, they are thieves who will put cheap defective parts in your vehicle! They will LIE right to your face and tell you that something else is the problem, when it isn't! This is EXACTLY the reason why people are soo wary of auto shops!

John has always been professional, polite, totally honest (he will not pretend he can repair your vehicle if it's not repairable) and, he is very fair when comes to any repairs. My truck is sounding rough/ticking. I am dropping my truck off at 9am by 9:48 my water pump needed to be replaced. Quality~I received my quote and proceeded to have my truck serviced or I could have picked my truck up (no bad blood). But, I had no intention on not getting the proper repairs. I was taking a nap (got a call) at 4:15 it was ready to be picked up. John closes at 4:30 but, he told me that he would wait for me until 5:30 I made it at 5:27:) Value~I would highly recommend supporting a longtime gem of a business owner and, if you value great service. I have had all my vehicle for long periods of time until either I choose to sell it or get a new one. Office entrance is to the left and, the shop to the right as you come down the gravel road. Important Side note~it's busy and very loud in the shop (they cannot hear the phone). Please leave a message and, he will return your phone call the same business day or next morning (speaking from experience). Customer parking right in the front and, along the fence on the left hand side. Thank me later and, you are welcome!!! ;)
