I usually stop in for an early breakfast with friends, but this time I grabbed lunch since a coworker was driving by on her way to the office. I'm glad I switched it up, because the coney taco (no cheese) was fantastic. Great flavor and that perfect coney twist that makes it something you can't get just anywhere. All my coworkers who ordered said the food was hot, the order was accurate, and they even got enough pickles for their sandwiches. The service was just as good as when I dine in. I see a lot of whining on reviews for this place. My coworker and I stopped here on our way through town. We read the reviews but decided to give it a chance anyway. We were greeted right away and welcomed to sit where we like. Our waitress came right away and was very nice. Having never been here before, we had questions about the menu and she was very helpful. I ordered the "Coney Special" and changed the coneys to "All Star" coneys which have ground beef loaded onto a traditional coney. [Side note here: one reviewer complained about paying $8.45 for one coney, fries, and a drink but the special is $8.99 so that is on the reviewer not the restaurant.] The snap! If you know, you know! A good hot dog is all about the snap and these had a great snap. My first bite had me hooked. The chili is terrific, the ground beef was nicely seasoned and added a nice layer to the coney, and the snap of the dog sealed the deal. The coneys were so smothered that I couldn't pick them up and had to use a fork. While I prefer to pick my coney up and make a mess, it wasn't happening...and it was a work lunch. My coworker got a Greek salad and it was huge! He loved it. It had meat on it and he kept raving about it all. Our waitress convinced him (rather easily) to get a coney too and he agreed that the snap was perfect and the coney was delicious. Food was delicious. Service was fantastic. We talked about how good the food was all the way home. Don't let bad reviewers steer you away from this great place. We have a cottage up there, this is a go to spot for great coney dining choices & delicious breakfast foods at a fair price for the quality...which is fantastic. The staff & owners are very friendly & hard working & it is a staple for every Howell visit we make! They have a driver through if you're in a hurry which is also super convenient! Don't ever order the oatmeal... Ordered twice now for kids, both times it was like concrete and uneditable. Most of the time there food is decent and both times it did come from door dash. Would of been nicer if they included a small portion of milk to add to it. read more

Terrible service, ordered pancakes that didn't come with syrup. Coffee is nasty . Menu shows large pieces of Shrimp but these are not but tiny shrimp and came with a very minimal cocktail sauce. We will never order from here again. read more

I wish I would have read the reviews before going in this place. Not a mask in sight with staff or patrons and zero social distancing at all. I should have walked out right then but we were hungry and in a hurry. So we order and my daughter's eggs come to the table over cooked and my food was warm on the inside but cold on the top. As far as Coney Islands go, this one has to be near the bottom. With so many other Coney options in the area, go to Leo's instead.

This place is my favorite. I love to go to the Leo's Coney Island by Kohl's but all star trumps over the two. I went there and this incredibly nice waitress came over before we sat down, took our drink orders, and in less than 2 minutes, our drinks came! VERY FAST drink service! We ordered our food and it came in less than 8.5 minutes. This restaurant is family owned, so everyone knows everyone which is nice. The owner even recognized me because she saw me eat at their restaurant when I was little! That was a very nice surprise. This, restaurant easily gets a 5 star rating! read more

Met several ladies from church for a lunch there today. Even though we were a large group and the parking lot was packed we were seated immediately. I wish I would've gotten the waitresses name because she was one of the best I've ever had. Quick to get our order for drinks and refills. And the food oh my! Large helpings, all being delicious. My spinach pie must've been home made - it was the best I've had so far in town and the largest serving. I'm sure we were a little loud but the patrons and entire staff were very accommodating... I had breakfast here last week, which was the first time in a while. My last experience wasn't the best, but it's always worth giving an establisment another opportunity. The wait staff is pleasant and effiecient, but there are still enough flaws in the food, that merit taking the time to write and mention. On this visit I ordered eggs, bacon, hash browns and Texas toast. First - I'm not certain what is done to clean the flat top grill, but the hash browns carry an odd taste to them, which is an issue from some type of carry over from whatever has been cooked on the grill previously. They just have a greasy "off taste," to them. Next, my toast was slightly burnt on one side, with the burnt side turned down. The bacon was also burnt. Over the course of a meal these things add up, really detracting from it, causing the breakfast to be mediocre at best. Bite after bite, greasy hash browns and burnt toast, and burnt bacon. Yummy! As previously stated, it had been a while since I visited All Star Coney, as my last experience was lacking. This visit didn't fair any better. There are an ample selection of restaurants in the area serving breakfast, (coney islands and others), that do a much better job. My suggestion is take a short drive to one. I will. read more

Used to go to this place frequently, even supported them with carry out and tipping above 20% when they were closed down. Their pancakes are really good, but I prefer them without politics. This place defied state orders and opened before they were supposed to, which meant the restaurant was then full of these anti government covid denying nut jobs. If that's who they want to cater to that's fine, that's their right, they just won't get my business. I'm sure my $40 once a week doesn't mean much to them anyway, and that's ok. At the end of the day we all have to do what we feel is right. My grandma died of covid and what they did feels like a slap in the face to people actually trying to follow the rules so they can see their loved ones. I will never go back here. read more

The hashbrowns were very good and potatoey (if thats's a word)...we asked waitress if hashbrowns were made from fresh potatoes and they were. Sausage gravy I got on side was good. I ordered eggs sunnyside up hash browns and bacon as soon as I took my food to my office which is directly across the street I noticed they put tin foil in the bottom of my bag because they knew my container had a hole in it and was leaking everywhere not to mention my bacon is so burnt it's inedible.
