I had a rep come to my place n I stated from the beginning be up front as we all know business especially sales reps like to increase the price I asked he give me the absolute best price. He agreed after 40 mins he gave us another price for the same job had to step outside to call someone. I gave him the benefit of the doubt as the rating said almost 5 stars here on yelp yet no thanks to HOA was only able to do 2 ft instead of the 5ft on either side of the driveway with pavers we wanted so we opted to do the rest as we was quoted with artificial grass which mind u is like 1/3 of the price for brick pavers ( not even real paver ) He gave us a little small discount of $150 I was ok with it as wife wants the job done. He made a 2nd trip out tonight. Now he in person tells me artificial grass is the same price which anyone who checks online knows paver bricks are 3 times the prices as fake grass. Instead of $5350 tells me the job will cost $8500 with a little extra sf of yard. Wow at 1st 5 ft cost $5500 with pavers now with only 2ft of pavers n 4ft fake grass runs way more. Omg. Remember 5 ft pavers runs $5500 with pavers being more expensive n grass fake being less runs me more. The job requires the same work n leveling of yard. So don't let them fool you. I work for a company who sells this stuff but does not do install. They have a saying fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me. I would suggest you keep looking at others who will do the same job n guarantee their work for less. Times are tough for us all but we do not need the BS in our lives. By the way his name is AVI the sales rep or project manager. I went to System Pavers n they are awesome straight up n reliable even with HOA. Plus job is looking like it will be the dream. Bottom line is do not be scammed n go with those who offer u reliable service only to give u the runaround. Be with those who are up front with no gimmicks or catches. Stay away from these All Star Builders. Just don't do it. Take my advise or not. It's not my $$$ that are being spent. Oh & by the way he kept telling me this was a minimal job so he could care less. My understanding no matter the job u should be more considerate as money does not grow on trees. For a company he represents he should have been more respectful since it was me who pays the bill. Just saying. Make your choice if u go with them or not. It does not hurt my feelings. Like said I don't pay ur bill for a job u could get for less if you continued shopping around. Just remember the end result may be awesome but for a little less the end result can be the same. Oh by the way paver bricks costs $2.99 each. Artificial grass cost $.99 a sy. I was cold-called from an auto-spam company that freelances jobs after doing online research for driveway repair Feb 2024. (think insurance quotes) I originally had a rock wall failing, and decided to do both fix the wall and possibly overhaul the driveway if feasible. I was called multiple times, but was skeptical on legitimacy of the company from a rotodialer. Made a meet time finally after talking with Kathy. She sent the AllStar Builder Rep; to where I met Leeroy Ohana. He was our point of contact, initiating the process after assessing our lot size, requests, and needs. He was very professional, always available via text or call, and agreeable in demeanor. Job was agreed to after some negotiations, and after seeing both cement vs pavers- we settled on price, timeline, and color options. I also wanted a drain installed in my adjacent wall. I had to have 3 months to fix a 25' length wall that was 5' tall first. Leeroy said he could work with our timeline, needed $1k down payment, and setup payment list per milestones (Dp, ordering materials, start of project /demo., start of installation, upon paver instal, completion). Move to May- texted Leeroy, guys started the next day. Had job started Tues 5/7 with Fri 5/10. Had the dumpster blocking our driveway; but Leeroy had them take it out Sat Am! Also- needed a day to cure cementing and, pavers- so all good! The work crew was led by Winston- and they did a great job. I will let pics speak for results. The bad- communication could have been more concise. My Spanish isn't great, and crew did have poor English- so we had some language barriers. They did save my flagstone from the rock wall- but also saved all my mortar-rock trash also! Oh well, 11 wheelbarrow loads with me and my son, back to the dumpster at 9pm after my 12 hr shift. All in all, minor negatives with a whole lot of positives. Price point to quality, and crazy install time- these guys ripped install less than a week! I highly recommend AllStar Builders. From the triangle of quality, price, speed; pick 2- the speed/quality was worth the price paid! Immediately increased curb appeal and usability of our home.
