In the bakery section choices range from Italian cheesecake and magic cookie bars to traditional thumbprint cookies and amaretti, and you get get bottles or cans of Italian soda in the cooler. The seating area is pleasant, with painted ivy and a view of the street through big glass windows; prices are reasonable and the service is very friendly. We got the verdura sandwich; an untoasted mushroom/cheese panino and the mushroom pizza. The eggplant sandwich is unbreaded and good even if you're not a big eggplant fan; the panino was garlicky and next time I'd have it toasted. Pizza was nice; they'll let you pick corner or side so you can decide how much caramelized cheese you want. Portions are generous. Worth a stop.

After making a special trip to eat here, it was frustrating to arrive before the posted closing time only to be turned away without any explanation or apology.
