Recently, we came back for a mini reunion and made Eberle a place where our party of 8 could relax, unwind, and reminisce of yesteryears while enjoying the beautiful views from the covered vineyard deck, and needless to say we absolutely had a blast! The tasting experience was still complimentary thanks to the blessed heart of Mr. Gary Eberle (thank you kind Sir), who also happened to grill up some delicious meats and smoked sausage that day (Santa Maria style), which was the perfect pairing to his wines. Special mention to Stephanie, who did an phenomenal job guiding us through the last cave tour of the day...and Mr. Eberle, she truly did your story justice (and then some!). WOW! We left there with plenty of purchases as well...too good to pass up! Oh and ladies, give their Rosé and Muscat Canelli a try...so refreshing! CHEERS and happy eating till next time...

Huge thanks to that goes to our host, Tamara. She was an absolute delight! Our glasses were never empty and she was just such a funny, quirky host. About halfway through our flight, she took us downstairs for the cave tour. Wow, what a stunner! Such a unique touch to this winery. The other incredible thing is that Eberle doesn't charge for tastings so you might as well pick up a bottle or two :)

The tour started at 10am cause it would be too hot to be outside in the afternoon. Our tour guy was very professional and knowledgeable about this massive vineyard resort. The tour took about an hour and half and finished with wine tasting in the resort tasting room. We were introduced to the entire property, history and facts about this winery. I really liked the cute goats on the ground. I was worried about them being in the heat and out in the sun. But our tour guy assured me that they made sure the animals stay in shaded areas and drink enough water to stay hydrated. The arts of this place are just fantastic. Owner is a big art collector so he covers quite a few cultures including Buddha (my faith)! All the arts are from the original countries so they are authentic. I loved the amazing art installations throughout the vineyard. My sign Virgo was on the top of the hill so we had to do a mill hike to see it. There is an art tour that we will do next time. I really want to know the details and histories of all the arts here. I was so glad that we decided to do this tour. If you ever visit Paso Robles wine country you might want to check this winery out. The prices were reasonable at $45 per person, $30 for resort guests and complimentary for members (2 people). The hours are Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays at 10am. Reservations are required. Ps. I'd suggest not visit in summer, central coast summer temperatures are unbearable!

Our tasting guide definitely knew her stuff and I appreciated all the time she's put in with Sculpterra! I loved how they grew pistachios too and have them for purchase to enjoy with your wine. All the sculptures are so unique and interesting. You could even find details of iron work in the bathroom! Very cool. The outdoor area was beautiful and it was fun to check out the big photos and play some bocce pall. The breeze and weather and ambiance were all great, it was a perfect first stop upon arrival in Paso for the weekend!

I figured we would be seated but the tasting occured standing up at the bar, which was fine. The tastings were generous, and customizable. My friend decided to do a white tasting, and I did the standard tasting. It was pretty hot, so about halfway through the tasting, we sat down at a table in the shade and walked up for the rest of our tastings but by that time, a large group had come through so the server was busier but still managed to remember where we were in the tasting. Our server was extremely knowledgeable and gave great suggestions. When we were done with our tastings, we walked around the property to look at the sculptures and the grounds. I did buy a bottle of wine and picked it up inside where they had other items for sale from local vendors, including our server who makes soap with her goat's milk.

As we were getting checked in, we had a taste of their sparkling rose, which was perfect on a hot day. We chose to sit inside since we had our infant son and the AC is much better. This was also during lunch time, so we ordered a sausage and pepperoni pizza, which was good and helped soak in some wine from our first tasting. The wines that we tasted were delightful with my favorite being the reserve granache. THE FINAL BAMBOO: Overall for a wine tasting and a sausage & pepperoni pizza, the damage was around $70. They could have also been stories of the Temecula Chilurzo Winery or his living in the LA area. We all shared so many similarities in life, he took us on a private tour of the production facilities a couple blocks away. Waaaaayyyyyy cool!!! Super sustainability and eco-friendly. I was impressed. We didn't get to try any food, and I volunteered to be the designated chauffeur of the afternoon winery tour. We placed our wine flights order and food order and then sat outside to enjoy our wine. The patio is my favorite place to eat at, the site inside has so many wine selections, gifts other fun nicknacks. My mom was in heaven, the wait staff was so friendly with her, brought her little cup cake and sang happy birthday to her, my mom had a great time. We finished our food and drinks and finished our visit by stoking up on Stella Rosa and San Antonio wines. Until the next time.

I stumbled across Mitchella while…read moredoing a search on Yelp, and am quite pleased I chose this to be my one stop before moving on to the next city. The tasting at Mitchella Vineyard and Winery is $20 for 6 wines, with mindfully curated cheese pairings. (A fantastic deal considering the seemingly skyrocketing cost of everything.) The tasting fee is also waived with the purchase of 2 bottles, which is the route I opted for after completing my experience. Upon arrival I was instantly greeted by Lizzie, as she patiently and quietly waited for me to exit my car. She wiggled her butt toward the entrance, encouraging me to follow. Sweet little start to the day, I'd say! (The winery pup in case you haven't figured that out.) ;-) Rachel quickly greeted me and got me seated next to a heater in their enclosed patio, and the paired adventure began. The Viognier was paired with Kokos, a coconut Gouda cheese. Very surprising on the palate, and the wine definitely emphasized the coconut, while the cheese brought out the pineapple of the wine. The Chardonnay had a crisp mouth feel but still just the slightest hint of that butteriness I tend to love in my chardonnays. The subtle saltiness of the benning goat Gouda smoothed out the crispness of the wine. The Cheap B*st*rd (since I'm not sure what Yelp decides doesn't work for them), was quite enjoyable as a stand alone. For me it had the nose of what I would consider to be darker fruits and a generally more jammy wine, but it was smooth on the palate. The white Stilton with cranberry that it was paired out helped bring forward some of the fruit flavor, but the cheese itself wasn't my favorite (hence the stand alone aspect). The Tempranillo would be my grab a glass and a book and plop down by the fireplace (or on my balcony wrapped in blankets) type of wine. It didn't feel heavy and was just a nice sippable red. On the nose, for me, was a very dark red kookaburra licorice. It had a smooth, light finish and paired quite well with the mimolette (which I will forever know as the cannonball cheese thanks to Rachel!) Presumptuous, a zin, had what I consider to be a jammy mouthfeel (as I still can't figure out how exactly wine connoisseurs identify that!) It was paired with a Boschetto truffle cheese and I feel it brought out a very mushroom forward (favorable) taste when put together. For me, it isn't always about what can the food do for the wine... I love to experience what the find can do for the food! Give me a nice side dish of garlic sautéed mushrooms with a glass of this zin, and pretty sure I'm one happy girl. The only potential downside to me for this winery is that their restroom is a portable. While considerably clean, it's definitely a tight squeeze if you're a bigger girl like myself. Deal breaker? Not a chance. I look forward to a future stop when the vines are green and views expansive!

There's also the barrel room area which I believe your allowed tasting in as well but seemed more for an event. Which one was either happening that evening or the following day. The gentleman working was the sweetest. Welcomed us and took very good care of us. Explained the wine which is always a must. I'm more of a red drinker but some of their whites were excellent. Oh, the bubbles to begin with was great. It's more of a mom and pop place but tasty. During our tasting, people did start to arrive which was nice and I believe the owners were there as well. Preparing for the event happening later. The pours were great and the wine was quite nice. The whole experience was very fun. Compared to the other wineries which are pretty massive. Today, Thursday , they have wines by the glass for $5! What an incredible deal. Since I drink only white wines, I was able to get a generous sample of 3 different wines for less than a tasting! Wines are good but not as good as I remembered before they sold the winery. We had the Diavola pizza and the Porchetta sandwich. The pizza was delicious. The sandwich was pretty good but it was a little dry. We also ended our lunch with a lovely tiramisu. The tiramisu was moist with the right amount of alcohol and cream. Just delicious. Service was great. The staff are very friendly. My son has a dairy allergy and can't have the cheese on regular pizzas. The chef was very accommodating and allowed us to bring in our specially wrapped vegan cheese to use on his pizza. Thank you for this accommodation! The eatery was very calming and was a wonderful way to spend our lunch hour. They did not rush us and we felt very welcomed. Definitely will be back here again.

Once I heard what happened I was more sad but happy to hear the new owner wants to continue Vina Robles. I wish as a member I would have gotten notified. Went to their new location which was really convenient since we were going to other wineries near there. It's still a big location. Plenty of seating and they still offer food which we were happy about. Our server was super sweet and knowledgeable which I always appreciate when it comes to wine. We started a tasting and then just tried whatever she gave us which we weren't complaining. Haha. All the wine she was giving us was really good. I was really impressed by their food. I wanted more of everything. We got their bruschetta al Fresco, hummus, monte Bianca pizza, and one other pizza. I fell in love with their bruschetta. We got there right as there kitchen closed which was a bummer because I wanted more. Overall, I still enjoy their wine. Their location is really nice. Food is delicious. I will conintue being a member and will stop by anytime I am in the area.

This was the first stop of my 4 winery visit to the area, and I enjoyed their wines a lot. I arrived early for my 10a tasting reservation and was one of the first there. A few others had 10a tastings as well. Jessie handled all of my samples and she was delightful and explained each of the wines to me. It was my second favorite as far as wines I sampled on my trip, and the first was a high bar for them to beat. The grounds were beautiful and they had a beautiful outdoor space for sitting and sampling. It was a chilly morning though, so I stayed inside to enjoy my wines and the descriptions. I would have bought a bottle, but I was flying and didn't know if I'd buy any more at other places. I wish shipping was more cost effective too. Oh well...

Our pizza was perfectly wood fired, and even though I'm not typically a big crab cake person, this was the best crab cake & greens I've ever had! I will be back for some rose and that crab cake alone. Not a snooty winery, and just a great vibe all around. You have to make Cass a regular Paso stop!
