Thick without being dry or too crumbly. 5/5 for food, though it does come with a hefty price tag as a result. As someone who doesn't love bars, I personally would rather take out than eat in here. It tends to be crowded, noisy, and poorly lit. The front door sticks so you have to really yank on it, which is not great in terms of accessibility. Brief update...YEARS later! I did not venture to ABV much throughout the pandemic as they had a limited menu and were closed at times for various reasons. I recently returned to ABV and they brought back their full menu, which includes alternative burgers, including the Josh Allen Bison Burger! It was my first bison burger and it was delicious, though I think they could do away with the mashed potatoes. They continue to have a full bar menu with many beers on tap. This is another wonderful Western New York "must dine at" place. ABV has been consistently awesome since it opened and they regularly add to their specials. The ambience is hip, the service is commendable and the food is delicious. Try the truffle fries and any of burgers / sandwiches will leave you satisfied and thinking about what you'll be having on your next visit. They have a lovely outdoor seating area during the warmer months, and an excellent bar with an excellent beer and spirits selection. I once asked for a shot of whisky and was told that Four Roses was their "well". I don't know if that is still the case, but much respect to good taste. I absolutely love this place. My kids love this place and with some family members that have Celiacs, they can make any burger gluten free with excellent gluten free buns and they usually have a stash of gluten free beer behind the bar as well. The decor is great. There are many different feels for the "theme" of the restaurant. It's kind of farmy, industrial, kind of whacky, but nice! There is very low lighting in case that bothers you. The burgers are great! Hubs and I can't wait to go back and try more burgers! The thick patties are just so soft and moist. We got ours medium well and they came as that and the flavor is perfect! Hubby ordered the number 2 which is pretty much a beef on weck but with a burger instead of roast beef. The kimmelweck bun is perfect, not too salty and has a slight crunch. The horseradish aioli is great and it came with a large side of au jus. Big enough to dip the whole burger in! Hubby ordered onion rings instead of fries. They're perfectly crunchy, the batter is thick and the onions didn't fall out and weren't stringy. I ordered the number 12 which came prosciutto wrapped with truffle cream cheese and arugula. My girlfriend really wanted a burger over the weekend and that finally brought us to Allen Burger Venture after a few years of meaning to go. This cool little burger place located (you guessed it) on Allen street is a great place to hang out and eat a fine burger. I stopped here on Saturday afternoon and the place had a good number of customers when we arrived. The staff was pretty friendly during our visit and the menu is full of different styles of special burgers and hotdogs along with some great appetizers like French fries, onion rings, poutine, and even some soups. We settled on ordering some onion rings as an appetizer and they were some top notch onion rings if I do say. They were pretty large in size and the seasoning on them made them super tasty. I ended up not getting a fancy burger and settling on a bacon cheeseburger which had a very thick burger between 3 patties with some American cheese and bacon on it. The burger itself was very tasty and I couldn't even finish it in one sitting. Overall, I really enjoyed my meal at Allen Burger Venture and would absolutely recommend checking this place out. The only thing that is upsetting is how long it took me to come here! This easily became one of my favorite places in Buffalo after eating here. It's on Allen, so street parking. The restaurant is a very bad type setting, high stools and tables, a few benches and lower tables too. The menu had a good selection of burgers, but there's also some veg options too. For an appetizer, we went with onion rings. The batter that they use for these are so good. There's so much flavor, I couldn't get enough. I've been coming here for around 2 years now and keep forgetting to get a review going! This is my GO TO burger spot in Buffalo. The wait can be a little long (1 hour) if you go during dinner time and they only take reservations for parties of 6 or more. A lot of times what I will do is put my name in at Allen Burger then go get a drink at Cantina Loco down the street while I wait. You can also wait at the bar and get drinks while you wait. They use a texting app to let you know when you're table is ready so you can put your name in then walk around Allen if you wish. I cannot believe it took me two or three times to finally try the Jiffy Burger but my goodness was I so happy that I did and I will NEVER try a different burger there. Jalapeños, bacon, peanut butter all on a juicy burger with some delicious fries. Another definite suggestion is adding tots as a side instead of the fries because the tots are insanely good. This is definitely a more expensive burger place if you're looking at an appetizer, burger and drinks all together but the food quality is like no other! read more

When I walked in, I was pleasantly surprised with the big beautiful bar with tons of top shelf liquors and plenty of full tables. Now I know why so many people really talk about this place. The food is fantastic! Now, I will say that my husband and I did not get beef burgers while we were here... he got a salmon burger and I got a chicken burger. Both of which were delicious but didn't satisfy our burger cravings so we are considering going back sometime next week. The buns that they use are so fluffy and perfect with a yummy buttery finish. Their french fries appear to be home cut and they add the perfect amount of salt that satisfy any salty carb cravings. Yum yum yum! Don't let the name fool you. Just because Allentown Burger Venture is a burger joint, they have some options for vegetarians as well - and people who don't eat red meat, like me! Most recently when I visited, I ordered the Southwest Chicken Burger which was topped with guacamole. It was so delicious, next time around, i want to try the turkey burger because I love those as well. The fries are just regular tasting, nothing really to brag about. But, what should totally be bragged about is the decor and the overall vibes of ABV. I had the pleasure of dining outside the other night and it was so peaceful, but I was still able to see all the hustle and bustle of the neighborhood. The only thing that I wish was different about ABV is the chairs. They are bar stool chairs which offer no back support, so I often find myself slouching. But, if that's the only thing that I have a gripe about, it's really not the end of the world. Our service was pretty slow last time, but who knows what the hold up could've been? We moved to Buffalo in May 2021. We've tried ABV a couple of times and I wish we wouldn't come back because the food is really just not that great and the service is even worse. However, on a Tuesday night in Buffalo they're a few options if you don't want to drive outside Allentown. My partner talked me to trying it again tonight and I will say after tonight I will never go in there again. We walked in about 9 PM and you can tell the staff is already done for the day. You don't get greeted. They just stand and stare at you until you finally mention what you need. We got a table for two and it took 45 minutes to get a burger out of the kitchen. They weren't super busy so I don't really get it but whatever I guess good kitchen staff is hard to come by. Our server could use a little work... Lackadaisical does not even begin to represent what her attitude might've been. Pleasant but clueless. I ordered a Caesar salad which to my surprise came as a plate full of spring mix with some shaved Parm on it and some out of the bag croutons with what appeared to be brie on top. Not good! We waited a long time for drinks and waited a long time for food and unfortunately, again dissatisfied. My partners burger was good but not worth $17. This will be the last time that we ever walk through the doors. I get that people are having a hard time staffing during the pandemic but for god sake's if you're getting paid a salary or an hourly wage do your f-ing job. My employer pays me to have a good attitude so I expect the same when I go into other places...mediocre completely describes the food, service and atmosphere. #dobetter By the way? I decided on this spot because I wanted to try Buffalo wings in Buffalo, NY! I ended up ordering a basket of buffalo wings, truffle fries, and I tried some of the onion rings my grandmother ordered. The onion rings were perfect. Probably the best onion rings I've had (I don't eat them often but I'm sure they rank in the top 10 across the US). The buffalo wings were huge. I was unfortunately still half full from my previous meal so I couldn't eat as many as I wanted but I liked them. The truffles fries were delicious and there was a lot so that was awesome. I was finally able to visit! I went with a group of 4 friends. I got a "TWO" and it was very good. I loved how the burger varieties were very unique, and there were a lot to choose from. Instead of just getting the good old Lettuce Tomato and Mayo burger, you can try some cool new flavors. They are also very open to customizations, which is awesome. You can pretty much get the burger however you want. I highly recommend this place if you like burgers and want a fun little spin! The drinks were good, they had a very nice selection. Inside the restauraunt was nice and cozy, with a cool sort of "industrial but trendy" vibe with the hanging lights and tiny disco balls. It was a little small on the inside, since the outdoor area isn't open yet. And there's really no waiting area so we had to stand awkwardly in the doorway for about 20 minutes. ABV is definitely one of the best burger spots in Buffalo. Their menu has interesting items and flavor combo's that I haven't really seen anywhere else. Also, if you're big into beer, their beer menu is, IMO, the best in Buffalo. Tons of different breweries and only the best stuff from those breweries. The only downside, they're really pricey. If you want anything more than a basic burger, you'll be shelling out more than $20, easily. Although they're tasty, I don't know if it's worth paying that much for a burger. I was talked into getting the stuffed banana pepper burger (with fries , a bit pricy at $17) which was prepared as ordered (medium) , just the right amount of heat, and on a fresh roll! We were exploring gallery night and walked by ABV and it smelled amazing, so we walked in! Sat at the bar, where Michelle took care of us. She was so amazing! Great recommendations, attentive, and was super fun to talk with (even while they were busy!). We were happy with just the service we got. Then our drinks and food came out and we were blown away. The candied garlic burger was phenomenal, the truffle fries were the perfect side, and the cider we ordered tasted just like apple cider (for the right amount of holiday cheer). We sat outside and enjoyed the night air, lights, and casual Buffalo vibe. I ordered a beer and he wanted a whiskey flight.... They had 4 flights listed on the menu and they only had one available....I ordered the #10 burger and he had the #7....the waitress did not ask how we wanted the burger prepared so both came well done... also mine was not a "smash burger" but a regular well done patty. Not to be boujee but everyone knows a burger is better if the bun is toasted... My husband and I both upgraded our sides as well. He wanted the truffle fries and I got tots. He receives a literal PILE of delicious truffle fries... I get exactly 5 tots.... I'm giving 3 stars for the aesthetic and the fact that we ate everything, but with inflation and the cost of going to a place for dinner being so outrageous right now I think some adjustments need to be made at this burger bar. The inside is cool and definitely projects a music-centric vibe. Posters for local shows are on the front door so you'll never miss a beat from the Buffalo music scene! The food is incredible. This is hands down the best burger place to ever exist, bold statement i know, but try their burgers and you too will feel as passionate as i do. Located in the heart of Allen Town, they have a very rustic feel. A beautiful patio, open concept, that's perfect for those warm summer nights. And inside is quite cozy very busy as far as decorations but still easy on the eyes. Also their beer selection is impressive.. and if you have the chance to sit at their bar, do so. If you don't get the calamari as an appetizer you are already starting your dinner off to a terrible start. They have such crispy calamari and then pair it with this zingy sweet chili lime sauce. TO DIE FOR. Also if you so start with this, you will devour this (fact) and then be too full to finish the burger so then you have leftovers. Winning. Now to discuss the meat. They are hormone and antibiotic free, dry aged, most superb pieces of patty. My personal choices every time i go are either #8, #3 (add mushroom, if you're into that), or the Chickpea Chole for when I'm feeling vegetarian. 1 Star seemed aggressive, but that's what I felt like rating ABV after my lunch experience today. Things started off well; we grabbed a drink at the bar and then ended up seated at one of the two tables that aren't bar stools in the restaurant. Score! Our appetizer of loaded tots? Score again! But... It was all downhill from there. We ordered a 7 and an 8. The 7 came and the green chili was surprisingly delicious. The 8 we order with a fried egg (instead of sunny side up) and cheddar cheese. What did it come with? A good runny egg and American cheese. We politely sent it back and were told a new one would be right out. Sure, if right out means OVER 30 MINUTES later. For a burger. Simply ridiculous. In the end, our server comped the burger, but that was of little importance to me. Who cares about a decent deal if it's at the hands of horrible service? And when we got the burger, it wasn't even prepared properly. The burger was burnt and the bacon was chewy and undercooked. Even when taking the bacon off, I just tasted like an average burger I could have gotten for $10 cheaper at Red Robin. This was my first time back at ABV in years, and I don't plan to return. Between the lack of comfortable seating (and glaring lack of handicap-accessible seating/equal access) I can't justify overpriced burgers and horrible service. Simple as that. read more

I'm vegan they had a few options two different burger, a black bean and chickpea I had the chickpea it was good and they also has these tater tots that was really good the first time I had them... the second time I was very disappointed because the inside was like mashed potatoes.
