Be very careful. I bought a set of brand new tires here over a year ago. First time in my life buying a brand new set. After a few months I noticed the tire pressure light would come on they'd loose air and I'd have to put air in them seemingly every 3 months. I was told by the employee who sold them to me that it's probably due to changes in the weather. Whatever. I've never bought brand new tires before so I figured this might be true. Every so often I'd hit a nail on the road and need a fix. The last time I hit nail I brought my car and mentioned to the employee I knew where the nail was and circled it with chalk, on the front left side. Also asked if they could please check the other tires because sometimes I find more than one nail. They told me they checked them all and found only the one, and off I went. While driving around at night I noticed the tire pressure light came on again. I wasn't too surprised, I didn't really believe the employees checked the tires thoroughly. I was leaving Albertsons at around 10pm and when I got to my car, the front left tire that was supposedly fixed was flat. It was extremely dark in the parking lot and I tried changing the tire with the scissor jack and spare in my trunk. I removed the the flat tire that was "fixed" that morning and sure enough, found a second nail. While I was trying to fix my new flat tire that Allen Tires supposedly checked in the morning, my car slipped off the scissor jack and slammed onto the pavement. I drove home hearing and feeling this horrible grinding sound from my car. The next morning I went back to Allen Tires in Downey and told them what happened. I believe the employee who failed to check my tires properly was named Nathaniel. As I heard another employee say 'Nathaniel didn't check again' after I told the person at the front desk what happened. It's been a couple of months and my car noticeably pulls to the left now. All from that accident caused by employee negligence. So let this story be a WARNING. DO NOT TRUST THE EMPLOYEES TO ACTUALLY CHECK YOUR TIRES. You need to do the inspecting on your own or you'll end up with an extremely expensive problem like I now have. read more

I have been coming to Allen Tire Company for about eight years, but unfortunately this experience will be my last. I called ahead and spoke with Anthony to ask how long an oil change would take. He told me about 15 minutes. I arrived 14 minutes later and was helped by Mike. He immediately told me it would take two and a half hours just to get to my car because another customer ahead of me needed four tires and a wheel alignment. Anthony stepped in and explained that my request was just a simple oil change and suggested they could have a technician from the back complete it while he went to pick up the tires for the other customer. Mike refused. Anthony again tried to find a solution and explained that my car could be done without me waiting two and a half hours (they close in an hour and a half, unsure who I could even possible be seen today if that's the case). Mike then turned to me and said it would be two hours before they would even start on my car. At that point, no, I'm OK. Anthony apologized but Mike said nothing. Anthony clearly tried to help and find a solution and for him, I would give 5 stars. He's not the manager but clearly knows how to run a business. On the other hand, Mike's attitude and refusal to accommodate a very simple service completely changed how I view this business. The previous manager (who was there for decades) always made customers feel welcome and never turned me away. Because of Mike's actions today, I will never return. read more

Service here was fast and amazing!! Got a flat tire on the way to work and was panicking because I was far from home and don't know the area that well. The manager and his mechanic took care of my tire as soon as I got there. They showed me the cause of the flat, told me they could probably repair it, but worst case scenario they could get a new tire for me today. Sometimes tesla tires are not in stock so that was a relief. Fortunately they were able to repair my tire, so they saved not only my tire but also my wallet, and I was on my way to work in no time. I went here because the one located on Woodruff and Carson did not have the right machine to do my alignment on my Lexus IS they referred me to go to the Downey location. I did have to wait quite a bit about an hour and a half but they were able to help me as a walk-in and also gave me a discount because I waited so long they have the right machine to do lower cars alignments on the tires. Where to begin! My boyfriend paid for a oil change with tire rotation through Groupon at Allen Tire Company on Woodruff in Downey and he works all day so on my day off he asked me to take his car in for him to get those done. I came in on Tuesday 07/29/25 and the old man at the front desk, who is the manager, I believe his name is Mike, said it's by appointment only so I set an appointment for the next day 10am for drop-off with a "2-3 hour leeway" verbatim. I show up and greet the same manager and he greets me and I let him know I have an appointment at 10am for oil change and tire rotation, he gives me a confused look which already bothered me because mind you HE set my appointment not even 24 hours prior and I let him know he's the one who set my appointment. He then lets me know it's for drop off and 2-3 hour wait which was fine since he expressed this to me yesterday so I was prepared. He then asks me if I wanted further inspections in the car and I said it's "my boyfriend's car so I'm sure he would want to be there in case further things came up". I wasn't going to okay something for a car that is not my own and the second I said that, In my eyes he seemed to get condescending with me. He proceeded to say "without inspection I won't be able to do the tire rotation only oil change" and I was already annoyed and responded with "what is being paid for then since the Groupon includes tire rotation" and he rolled his eyes and he said the inspection includes tire inspection which if he can't inspect the tires he can't do the rotation in case their bald, I didn't mind what he said obviously his job is to let me know it's the manner in which he spoke to me which was extremely condescending and off-putting. I don't know anything about cars or what's involved with an inspection, I assumed if tire rotation is paid for it automatically includes being inspected to see if it can be done or not but he spoke to me as if It bothered him that I questioned about what is being paid for because he said "without the inspection the tires cannot be rotated". I lost my patience immediately and let him know to not speak to me as if I am stupid and that he needs to learn how to talk to people. I expressed the obvious twice that these are services being paid for not given away and he replied with "you said that already" . obviously I don't deal with car things everyday so he could be more patient In how he explains things and that my boyfriend from what I knew had his tires changed a month or two back and he said "well you did not tell me that". The man did not bother to ask me and again I do not know if it is something he needs to know or not, I am not a mechanic or work for an auto shop. He just sat back with a smirk and literally folded his arms. THEN to make matters more annoying he proceeds to get petty and tell me closing is at 6 and they have until then to give me the car, I said "I thought you told me it is a 2-3 hour leeway" and he said "approximately" which was not what he said yesterday. I came in the other day to just seek a quote for a new set of 4 tires. Tyler G was the one helping me and from the beginning he was straight forward and provided the quotes and out the door estimate. I was not planning to get them done on the same day butt experience from the start was smooth sailing. The guys were willing to take my car that day so I could be on my way. During the tire swap, they pointed out I needed new rear shocks and explained why it was necessary. Tyler didn't pressure me to purchase the shocks he provided additional quotes for that and it was still very reasonable knowing how much a pair can range from. Tyler went the extra mile by making a phone call and getting a set of rear shocks over that evening. The next day I was able to pick up my vehicle and already felt the difference. Overall, the guys working Friday afternoon were all friendly and helpful. My interactions with Tyler sold me on making Allen Tire Co my spot for future tires and car needs.
