My first time here and trying it because they are taking part in halal restaurant week in Milwaukee. The restaurant ordered all halal beef and chicken for the week which really opened up the options for us. So let's get into it: Location/Service: just outside of 3rd Ward, easy street parking, convenient and easy to find. On the inside the restaurant was very clean, great vibes inside, safe to bring kids/family like we did. And the service was excellent, staff and everyone was kind, attentive and on top of everything. Now the food.... Ohhhhh the food... probably the best and most flavorful fajitas I've ever had in my life the flavors were not lacking, the enchiladas verdes poblanos sauce on it was. Out of this world and the biria tacos were amazing! Even the chips and salsa, the queso, the guacamole, all of it was fresh, tasted amazing, and for the first time in seemingly 10 years zero complaints from any child in attendance LOL. It was so good my picky eater asked me if they can go halal all the time so we can come back and enjoy it again! Let's not forget about the churros though...WOW. Great structure to them, didn't fall apart when you tried to tip them, absolutely delicious! Since moving to the MKE area this is by far the best authentic Mexican food we have had! Loved the interior decor! Bar stools were really cool and bar area has tow TVs with nice natural light. I started with a margarita which was decent. We also got chips and salsa to share. The salsa portion was small while the chips were bottomless. I got the Supremo Burrito which was a nice portion but honestly nothing special. My friends got two tacos and share side rice and beans. They said tacos were good and two were perfect. Overall a bit pricey for Mexican food and sides were extra. The enchiladas only came with rice not beans. Decided to stop by and try this new Mexican restaurant, and overall it was a good experience. The service was great our server and hostess were both friendly and welcoming. The spot itself is on the smaller side, but very cute with a modern vibe while still keeping that Mexican feel. The food and drink was delicious. I ordered the gobernador tacos (shrimp tacos with peppers, onions, and chipotle sauce). The flavors were really good, but I do wish there had been more shrimp each taco only had about two. My husband had the steak burrito which he enjoyed. Also, sadly, none of our entrées came with sides like rice or beans, which would've made the meal feel more complete. read more

Stopped into the new Allende Cocina Mexicana after a day full of adventures with friends and man did it hit the spot! My favorite was the esquites with bread. The house marg was tasty and fresh. I heard amazing things about this restaurant which opened I believe a few months ago and the food lived up to the hype!! The squash blossom quesadilla was delicious, corn tortilla tasted fresh and house made, and mushrooms savory and flavorful. Portion on its own might not be enough for a full meal but was happy with the shared esquite appetizer. Burrito portion was larger and friend said delicious! They even gave us complimentary birthday dessert - flan cheesecake, waitress sang, and they gave a cool presentation. I loved the look of the restaurant! It is pretty small, but has an open feeling with a long bar and views into the kitchen. I love the cream city brick walls. The food is more elevated than your typical Mexican restaurant. It felt less greasy than a lot of places. The meals were somewhat small and didn't come with rice and beans, but you could order those separately. I had the Quesadilla Grande with steak. It had a good amount of meat and came with a side of sour cream and guacamole. The Allende margarita was good and you could taste the tequila! Our server was kind and attentive. read more

This spot fills a gap Milwaukee didn't know it had. It's simple yet classy, traditional yet thoughtful Mexican. The menu focuses on traditional Mexican favorites. A reasonable variety of interesting vegetarian options as well. (Nopales, squash, grilled salad, esquites) Our stand out: birria taco (or quesabirria!) we said wow about 5 times each while eating Honorable mention: Al pastor Salsa trio is great - the spicy one does build tho! So so so good. The house margarita is one of the better ones I've had in the city. It's tequila forward but not too much and lime is perfect. It's the kind of place you could just as easily settle into for a casual dinner as you could post up at the bar and watch a game on the 3 TVs by the bar. We stopped here on a Wednesday night on a whim. The first taste of the margarita was disappointing. While it was tasty, it resembled limeade and was not very spirit forward. The fajitas were good and there was a nice size however, the enchiladas were a bit disappointing. My friends and I had a wonderful evening together at Allende and were sat in a semi private area of the dining room that was perfect for our larger party. The space was bright, clean, and had kind and attentive staff. We had chips and salsa, chips and guac, chips and queso, and I had the green enchiladas as my main. So... went with some friends to Allende on a Saturday night. First time for all of us to the New Mexican restaurant in the Third Ward. Positives: food was flavorful, I liked the salsas (especially the habanero one) and I like how they updated the former Stackd burger restaurant. They've got some work to do on execution: our table had to go to the bar to order a round of drinks since server was too busy, risotto was crunchy - not al dente, and one of the burritos was cold. After seeing this restaurant recommended by local MKE TikTok accounts, I decided to give it a try . All I can say is wow Coming from a larger city, it's not often you come across a gem like this. I love the modern twist they bring to Mexican cuisine. It's not your traditional Mexican food, but rather an upscale take that still respects authentic flavors. The ingredients taste fresh and high quality, and you can tell the dishes are thoughtfully prepared. This definitely feels like a date-night or celebration spot, somewhere you go when you want a special dining experience. At the same time, their specials are very affordable, which makes it easy to come back. The kitchen is led by Chef Cesar, the owner, and you can really tell there's pride behind the food. His wife, Yolanda, runs the restaurant, and the hospitality shows throughout the whole experience. The staff was also wonderful. Jose the bartender was especially great and made some really delicious drinks. From the moment you walk in, the team genuinely wants you to enjoy your experience. If you're looking for elevated Mexican cuisine, great drinks, and a place perfect for a night out, this spot is definitely worth visiting. I would love to see in the future a brunch menu. Best Mexican food I've had in Milwaukee. Chips and salsa were great, the green tomatillo salsa was excellent and the others are good too. We got the fajita trio and all three meats were seasoned terrifically and tender and tasty. My wife found the margarita a little sweeter than she prefers but still good. We will be back. Ordered tacos with my wife and order came out wrong, tacos were bad (we tried every one on menu), and service was poor, and to top it off, they position them selves as fine dining. Just overall poor quality restaurant. If you want good Mexican food go to La Casa De Alberto's down the street for half the price and twice the service and quality of food. Absolutely insane anyone would go here other than the convenient location. I'm a very fair reviewer and I tried half the menu, this place is incredibly disappointing. Don't come. Don't be intimidated by the menu. It's a bit more upscale than "let's say your corner restaurant or food truck." The flavors are elevated and pleasing to the palate. The seasoning and flavors are reminiscent of their hometown in Mexico , even to make it more authentic; the stunning furniture is from their hometown as well. Our first time trying this restaurant and it was excellent. I read an article in the MJS about new places in town and we thought we'd give it a try. We started with Marg, Poloma and a drink of the week and everyone enjoyed their drinks. Street corn appetizer is delicious but add chips and salsa to your order. (Chips are good, not greasy) Our server Luz, who is delightful, ask for her, recommended Verdes Poblanas, Shrimp, birria and tacos, pastor tacos all excellent. It's really good Mexican food for a fair price. The restaurant itself is very nice and super interesting. I'm tired of just ho-hum places, this was a wonderful surprise. We were excited to try this new Mexican restaurant. I had the quesadilla which was mostly chicken without much cheese. Both of our meals were served lukewarm. We ordered drinks and opted to pay for their "day-old" chips and salsa for $3.50. The server forgot about the drinks and chips which arrived AFTER the meal. We were seated close to two other couples even though there were many open tables. I would not recommend this restaurant. read more

Went there for the first time today Allende just opened recently. We were greeted by the hostess with a smile and seated right away. Our server brought us water and took our drink order immediately. I had an icy cold Corona, my wife had a margarita on the rocks she was very impressed with. We shared the steak quesadilla and the shrimp burrito. This is simply the best Mexican food we have had in our 12 years in Milwaukee. We also met one of the owners, she was super nice and took the time to discuss the workings of Allende from the furnishings imported from Mexico to the all natural ingredients in the margarita.
