Very poor customer service!!! My family and I went in today after church. The hostess asked how many in our party and we told her 20. She rudely and sternly responded, "If it's more than 20 we can't seat you!" When we asked if each family could possibly have different tables if we were more than 20, she responded rudely again, "No! If it's more than 20 we can't seat you because it's going to be too much work for us!" We asked for the manager and she ignored us. After not feeling welcomed at all, we told her we were going to leave and she sarcastically said, "Bye! Have a nice day!" When we were leaving she proceeded to tell my nephew that our family was scandalous! When questioned by my niece about her remark, she said she didn't mean it that way. We were so disappointed because our family has frequented this restaurant for many years with parties larger than 20 and have never had a problem. I recommend that staff be properly trained in customer service. read more

This place is filthy. The cup my coffee was served in had not been washed. I ordered a breakfast burrito. It was not tasty and there was sand in the burrito. The floor had food chunks on it. There is a glass top on the table and there was food under it. I will never, ever stop here again. Don't waste your time here - find something better. read more

It used to be a good place to eat, I'm talking years ago! I went to have lunch today with a friend, after a long time of not going to this place. Everything is so different than what it used to be. First of all our waitress was an old lady who seemed to be in a bad mood, my friend ordered menudo and i had the camarones empanizados plate, we also got a chicken taco and a lengua taco for our kids and two drinks. My friend's menudo didn't have any flavor which wasn't really the issue but it had a hair in it, it looked like a beard hair or guys hair, so we call the waitress to let her know and get to something else instead, we could tell that she didn't like us complaining, she said it was a "COW'S HAIR and it was normal for menudo to have hairs because cows eat grass and we should know that" (no idea what grass has to do with hairs). The camarones were salty and the rice had a weird taste like it was spoiled, we also try that green salsa they leave at the table with chips and the salsa DEFINITELY was spoiled, i also said that to the waitress when i got up to pay and she said that was impossible because everything was made early that morning. Not going back and not recommended at all! read more

Im so upset that they changed their salsa. It used to be flavorful, so good with chips BUT NOW it tastes like water with TOO much spices. It has no flavor and is just too spicy to eat, and I eat alot of spicy food! It burns your tongue so you cant even enjoy your food when it gets there. PLEASE CHANGE THE SALSA BACK read more

I love Allende. The food is good, the service is reliable but the place is disgusting. It's dirty and has been smelling like sewer. The walls are decrepit, and when I accidentally elbowed a wall, dust and paint chips fell on to the table. How does this place keep up with a health inspector? I won't be back until they fix this place it because it's disgusting to eat here while it stinks. Too bad because I love the food. read more

Love this place. My hubby and his family have been coming here since he was a baby. We love the shrimp cocktail, verde queso enchiladas, chili rejenos, and of corse rice and beans. My sister got the chicken fajitas tonight and they tasted awesome. Ok service. We got a waitress who admitted it was only her second day- so it'll get better for sure. Prices are decent. Would eat here all the time if only it was a bit closer. Bathrooms are clean. Inside is authentic Mexican. They have very old, very pretty wooden chairs near the back. New chairs are cool too. Made out of buckets. Definitely give it a try!!! read more

Based on a neighbor's recommendation we decided to this place for lunch. We tried a chicken quesadilla, chicken taco salad, chile relleno, cheese enchilada, carne asada burrito and a pina agua fresca. It was at lunch time so they were busy and the service was a little slow but the food came out quickly. All the food was yummy and only disappointed in the carne asada burrito which didn't have a lot of flavor. read more

I really don't know why this place has such a low rating. Yes, the place has a weird layout, but I've always had good service here. The food is awesome. The salsas they bring you are very good. I love their campechana. Their tacos are good and probably have some of the best carne asada I've had at a place here in the valley. The service has never been bad for us. My wife craves this place. As soon as you walk in I was awe of the Mexican artisanal, carved wooden door, chairs and tables, made me feel like I was in Mexico. We came for the dollar tacos they have Monday-Friday but we were too early it's only from 5-7 pm but stayed just because I knew we were gonna have a great experience and indeed it exceeded my expectation.
