first off: it ain't hidden, it ain't a gem, and it certainly ain't a hole in any wall or hot and trending... it's a diner where you come in and get a seat at the counter and drop any one of a dozen vintage schmoozes that ends up with a waitress getting seriously over-tipped... yeah, it's that kind of place! been eating biscuits and gravy here off and on for forty years so this is like coming home except no makis. not much of a crowd at 7:30am on labor day; it's hit-n-miss on the holidays because no body remembers if they're open (pro tip: they're always open just not all the time) still, the counter is full up so it's table time and ice water and black coffee and cakes and eggs and links for a change... phone rings away with the curious and cautious as the place begins to fill and out comes my breakfast piled high and looking good enough to eat. pancakes are ridiculously large and fluffy and a great sop for the hotly sauced bright yellow yolks that used to be eggs up. coffee is black and hot and abundant just how I like it; my links a little lighter and meatier and awaiting a smuggled breakfast cocktail but that was an apricot time ago and a stone sour place away. probably should have got a biscuit though...

CASH ONLY. Forewarned. This pleasant breakfast and lunch eatery has allegedly been around for a century. You couldn't tell. Service was friendly, food was prompt and prepared as ordered. Seems like it's a haunt for the "usual suspects" with most people knowing each other, and certainly the staff knew most of the customers. I went for chicken friend steak and eggs, food service steak, but still enjoyable, eggs perfect, and I usually don't eat breakfast potatos, but these were tasty. Will revisit to try the lunch menu.

Love bringing the family here for delicious breakfast dishes, service is always top notch and I look forward to trying lunch soon enough. My favorite dish is the chorizo skillet!

Allen's Corner is a small local diner in Hampshire, IL. As I walked in, the atmosphere felt real warm and welcoming. You are able to sit wherever you like. The menu is straight forward with homestyle selections. I ordered a veggie omelette, hash browns, and pancakes. The food was nice and I was digging the pancakes. The only thing I don't care for is they only take cash, but there is an ATM tucked away in the corner. Prices are very reasonable as well as portion sizes

In front of Allen's corner. Very happy customer

My honey took me to a gem of a diner name Allen's Corner been in business 104 years in Hampshire, IL. that serves fresh farm eggs and special was home made pumpkin pancakes. I had the special pan breakfast. Hash browns, sausage, ham veggies top with 2 over easy eggs and the most delicious gravy I've ever had. Not to mention the delicious pumpkin pancakes with whip cream, walnuts and awesome tasty syrup. Best breakfast ever! Definitely a must I believe it's cash only. Worth every penny. Waitress was awesome! Friendly atmosphere! All in all great customer service.

We were on our way back from the Rockford Airport and we stumbled upon this delightful diner for breakfast. They have flavored cream! It only has 10 tables, so you might have to wait for a table.

Drove by and stopped in at 1:37pm and found out they closed at 2pm but they were so friendly and let us eat. Maria was our waitress and extremely friendly and so great! Everyone was smiling and laughing and made our lunch so much more enjoyable and spread great vibes throughout the restaurant. Food came out in less than 10mins and everything was fresh and hot. Highly recommend stopping by one day and enjoying this little diner. Open everyday 6am-2pm and limited seats

This place is amazing!! Good old fashioned breakfast!! The biscuits and gravy omelette was so good.

Flat iron steak sandwich. Super good!

We went there for the first time on Saturday of last week. We didn't really know what to expect since it just popped up on Yelp, but it was really really good. Being totally honest, the crowd wasn't what I expected (traditional family, a lot of guns and Jesus lol), but everyone was still super nice, and we enjoyed ourselves.

The food is great! I had to go one star down because I smell like a diner the rest of the day.

The food here is excellent, however plan on a wait. Seating is very, VERY limited and it does get busy.

The food itself was quite good, but the experience was a bit tricky as a gluten-free diner. There are no GF labels on the menu. When I asked our server what I could eat, she initially suggested the gluten-free pancakes and gluten-free toast. However, when I asked if the pancakes were cooked on a separate griddle, she had to check with the manager and confirmed they are not made on a separate surface (though the hashbrowns are cooked separately). Ultimately, they also couldn't toast the GF bread either. I ordered a cheese omelette (cooked in a clean pan) with hashbrowns and untoasted GF bread. While the server wasn't super knowledgeable upfront, I really appreciated her taking the time to verify the kitchen's cross-contamination practices with management. Options are definitely limited, but the meal tasted great. The server also added gluten allergy to the ticket and advised no cross contamination.

Nice (if you are really hungry) portions. Hash brown potatoes could have been a bit more crispy, plenty of veggies, scrambled eggs done right. Nice menu for breakfast and lunch.

I got the vanilla iced latte decaf and i'd give it 7/10, the flavoring was a little off but was still enjoyable. Food wise we got french toast 5/10, bacon 7/10 and a bruschetta wrap 7/10 there was a lot of the balsamic, fries 10/10. French toast just didn't have much flavor and it seemed like just a cinnamon slice of bread. Wasn't giving much french toast vibes like with a brioche piece of bread. I'd give this place another try though as I really love the inside and our server made sure everything was taken care of.

I first had the veggie bliss omelette and the berry bliss pancakes. The omelette was satisfying and the berry bliss pancakes stood out on their own. The fruit and sweet glaze did not require any additional syrup and made for some delicious pancakes. I liked the barbacoa skillet the second time around. I think the meat could have had a little more seasoning , but the side of sour cream and picante sauce helped bring more flavor to the skillet. This time I had plain pancakes and they were no were as good as the berry bliss! Triple Berry is a solid breakfast spot for some good eats.
