What a great place! I was so surprised to find this food hall had so much variety. I knew I was in for a treat as soon as I walked in the door. Alley 51 is a food hall next to Super G's International Market. they have an incredible variety of restaurants to choose from all of them from East Asia. You can find sushi, Vietnamese noodle bowls, Mongolian, beef, and even roast Peking duck. come on! How cool is that? I have tried a few of the restaurants. I especially enjoyed the Thai. I have had the drunken noodles which were delightful. I was able to add Thai chilies which helped the level considerably. The owner recommends the basil chicken fried rice. I have also enjoyed the Laoatian food. The Laab is really good. I plan to eat my way across the entire hall. I am looking forward to sampling it all. read more

We stumbled on this place as a get out of the house trip. On the outside I was not ready for the pleasant surprise inside. Super clean! Well stocked and loved that the aisles were labeled by country/continent. Wide variety on each aisle. The stuff you find in the aisle is the real life to the AI snacks posted that make you mad but they exist here! From fresh fruit to imported sodas, chips and seasonings and that's just the grocery store part! The food court is almost hard to digest! We walked around 2 laps before deciding! Everyone is ready to serve you! Most had digital checkouts but I asked the actual persons so that I can ask recommendations I recommend order a little from a few different stands. This place is an asian food court attached to the Super G grocery store. Surprisingly, the ambiance was modern and chic. Not what you would expect from an asian food court at all! It was clean and there was plenty of room for families. There were about a dozen food stalls here with food choices thatbspan the Asian world. You want Lao food? You got it! Filipino food? Of course! Sushi? Chinese noodles? Chinese BBQ? KOREAN? Yup you can have it all! My wife and I tried food from three stalls and I'm not going to lie, there was not one disappointing bite. A lot of thr stalls have self-service kiosks too, so ordering is easy if you need pictures. The only small gripe is that everything is a tad on the expensive side for asian food. Is it worth it? I love visiting Alley 51 when I shop at Super G. It doesn't happen often, but when I do, I get excited about what I am going to eat! The food hall and the restrooms are always clean. It is such a treat to find what you like among the Asian options. It was definitely worth the wait after Covid delayed the opening. I was very excited when I visited one evening and found Alley 51 open and doing a brisk business. Even my grand was allowed to play in the kids' area. I really like the idea of food hall with different Asian food restaurants in one big place. We had the pho, banh mi trio (which was okay imo) ; beef wagyu in a sticks, sushi, and crispy chicken wings (needs more seasoning ), honey bbq chicken rice plate, mango and strawberry smoothie, and rice plates from Great Wall were good. They have boba drinks and others juices as well. This place also has small play area for little toddler aged and arcade for big kids. Next to the Alley 51 is a grocery store G Mart with international food options. We like the ambience of this place and I don't mind visiting this place again when we visit the town. read more

This food hall is AWESOME. I can't believe it took us this long to check it out! We went on a Friday evening, and it was giving night market vibes with the lanterns and lively environment. Very family-friendly with lots of seating and even a kids area and arcade. In terms of food options, they've got most of Asia covered! I saw Chinese, Thai, Filipino, Japanese, Korean, and more. We decided to try a variety of savory bao from Honey Bun, which were all nicely fluffy with tasty fillings. The teriyaki one was our fave of the bunch. And the food was handed to me right after ordering, so no need to wait to enjoy! We also got the Adobo Chicken from Manila Grill, which was a good amount of bone-in chicken in a savory broth, with rice on the side. This dish took about 10 min to be ready - not bad at all - and was a bit challenging to eat, but once we dug in we really enjoyed the flavor and tenderness of the chicken. I wish the food hall and Super G Mart closed later on weekends, since we would have liked to grab dessert and shop in the grocery store after our meal, but it was already passed 9pm so things were closing. Anime Vibes + Amazing Food = Perfect Father's Day! We went to Alley 51 to celebrate Father's Day weekend and WOW it was like stepping into a little anime fan's dream world! From the moment we walked in, I was personally in a mini heaven. The vibe, the decor, everything felt like it was made for fans like us. Now the food... absolutely incredible. I ordered the bao bao buns with roasted duck and they were mouthwatering tender, flavorful, and perfectly done. My dad had the Chinese wings and pork fried rice, and let me tell you, he could not stop talking about how good it was. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and just hit the spot. It can seem overwhelming. I highly recommend going with a group of friends and everyone ordering a couple of things and then you all just share everything. We stopped by Alley 51 while visiting the area and ended up having a really good time. We started at Honey Buns with the BBQ pork bun and the gochujang pork bun. The BBQ pork bun tasted like a fluffy bun stuffed with sloppy joe-style pork, which was way better than I expected. Comfort food for sure. Next up was Rai Lay for the chicken drunken noodles. These were surprisingly light and really fresh--the green beans were still crispy, and the noodles weren't greasy like drunken noodles sometimes can be when you get them as takeout. For dessert, we shared the strawberry ice cream bubble waffle. It came with fresh strawberries, Pocky sticks, sprinkles, and a little panda marshmallow on top. It looked cute and tasted great without being too much. My husband tried the potato hotdog corndog from Mochinut, which was huge and super crispy--definitely enough to share. We also tried the sour hawberry tea from QuiciTop. It was sour and fruity with a slightly smoky flavor and came in a red drink pouch, which was interesting and different. As for the space itself, there was plenty of seating--high tops, regular tables, small two-seaters, and larger tables for groups. Even during our short visit, we constantly saw workers wiping down tables and keeping things clean, which we really appreciated. Overall, Alley 51 feels like an Asian street food hall, which makes it easy to try a bunch of different cuisines in one place. Alley 51 is a food court adjacent to Super G Mart. I tried Honey Buns II and Mukja. Honey Buns serve dim sum like food and mukja is Korean food. Order: shumai and sweet rice dimsum (honeybun), galbi rice plate (mukja) The dim sum was decent considering its fast food dim sum. The sweet rice was not sweet at all, it was rather bland. I added soy sauce for flavor. The rice plate came with galbi, rice, cabbage and Kim chi. The galbi was very tasty but also fatty (the fat trimmings weren't cut off). The cabbage was over dressed and the Kim chi wasn't marinated well. Honey bun pricing was reasonable but the halos rice plate was $30. That's high for food court food. Overall, it's convenient for lunch before a grocery run. It's also located across the street from Carolina place mall, so you can just pop in after a long day of shopping. read more

But on our quest for amazing Asian cuisine it had to be done and let me tell you what, I've been singing praises and recommending this to anybody that will listen. If you love Asian food this place is a must- Alley 51 is a huge Asian food hall that offers everything from Thai( my personal favorite), to Korean, Filipino, Chinese and more. If you love butter mochi donuts then look no further! They have those as well and truly so much more. I came here on a random weekday night after getting off from work at 5 and like I said the drive was worth it. We got a little of everything and went home happy an ao full and had so many leftovers. My Favorites: I love Akihabari, they have so many wonderful games including my favorite Final Fantasy rhythm game, Theaterhythm. I have found a gem! I had no idea this place existed. I had to run an errand today in Pineville to pickup a purchase at the Best Buy Outlet. It was lunchtime and I was hungry. I like to support local and not a chain when I can. I had time and decided to look. I found Manila Grill so I went to check it out. I found Alley 51. Oh my gosh, all the Smells!! I swung in to try Ray Lay this time...and I seriously regret this choice. I remember liking Ray Lay at South Boulevard, so I figured this would be about the same...but well, it was way worse! I ordered Pad See Ew with Chicken, and it was just lacking flavor (not enough sauce and/or flavoring). Possibly the worst Pad See Ew I've ever had?? Then the Thai Iced Tea was utterly tasteless...hardly sweet at all! Again, the worst Thai Iced Tea I've ever had! So this lackluster meal (Pad See Ew with Chicken and Thai Iced Tea) costed over 18 bucks. Made me think...From Thai House down the street, you'll get the same items PLUS Spring Roll AND Soup for the same price (or possibly even less - Lunch Specials!)...all nicely presented on a plate with silver utencils...and theirs taste absolutely delicious! Basically, I feel that for the quality you get here, you are paying way too much. So far, I felt this way about the few vendors I've tried so far. I get the need for a casual, to-go vendor, but I just don't get the high restaurant price points at a food court in Pinevile. Anyway, there are still a few more vendors I need to try...so maybe I'll see things differently? If based soley on the food (and drink) that I had at Ray Lay, I probably would have rated 1 star. But I didn't want to pull down the ratings for the entire food court since I've tried only a few vendors. I'll just keep the same ratings for now...but all I know is that Ray Lay is a vendor I'll be skipping this point on...unless things change for the better (meaning, better tasting foods and/or lower price points). read more

Had such a great experience at the Alley 51 in Pineville. We had the restaurant called sizzling. I ordered the rice with beef and chicken and it came out on a cast iron sizzling hot. Also it came with cucumber salad and miso soup. The food was very fresh and delicious and I will definitely be back to try another vendor. read more

It's hard to review this as one place because they're all independent businesses. Just keep that in mind. It's like reviewing optimist hall and lumping it altogether... you can't. The bao bun is 10/10. I for the Chinese bao bun. Get 50 of em from Honey Buns II. I also got milk tea from them. 10/10. Dairy free. Ok next...I got the beef flank steak pho (I believe) from Saigon Cafe. I choked on the steak because I was being greedy but also because it is VERY chewy and fatty. So I think they should cut the fat because I couldn't eat many pieces. The Pho doesn't come with everything in it. It comes with the broth and meat and then you get a sandwich bag full of the scallions, and onions, and etc. lastly, I ended with honeycow desserts. I got one of the waffles. Found this place as the perfect meet up spot for me and some family as I visited the Charlotte area. This place is just ridiculously cool, it's more of a large Asian food Hall with tons of options and a lot of space to hang out. It's in a shopping center connected to a Great Wall grocery store so parking is also convenient. Lots of cool murals to take pics with and even in arcade. Alley 51 is a hidden gem! We ordered from The Great Wall and the food was so good -- flavorful, fresh, and beautifully presented. The entire space is super clean, well-organized, and filled with a variety of food options. This was actually my second time visiting, and I found out they had recently reopened -- glad I caught them post-relaunch because everything was on point. Customer service at Honey Cow was absolutely on point! As soon as we walked up, we were greeted right away -- it's always nice to feel acknowledged from the start. They have a great variety of boba options, and the lady who helped us was super helpful and patient while we placed our order. We tried the Brown Sugar Milk Tea and the Passionfruit Green Tea -- both were delicious! Our drinks were made quickly and tasted fresh. I highly recommend this location if you're looking for tasty boba and great service. I'll definitely be back! I seriously have nothing but positive things to say about Alley 51 food court. Clean and modern food court with lots of options. It was fun trying different things. We had jian bing from Quicitop, which is like a crepe stuffed with lettuce, crispy wonton, protein, and a sauce. I'm not sure what the sauce was but it tasted like a peanuty hoisin to me. We went with squid for our protein, which there was plenty of. The serving is huge and comes stacked in half. Definitely an interesting mix of textures and flavors. I was craving fried chicken so had to get the Korean chicken nugs from Itaewon. The chicken was nice and crispy as expected. The sauce was sweeter than I would like, but still tasty. This was a sizable portion even for two people. Finally, we had a little bit of room left and split a BBQ pork bun from Honey Buns. We arrived relatively late as we were visiting from out of town and arrived later than expected. I have spent a majority of my life in Charlotte, and I am so glad Alley 51 opened up. Growing up in Charlotte, there was a heavy lack of diversity. I love Alley 51 because it makes you feel included, safe, and looked out for. There are many kind , friendly, and unique people who visit with their friends and families, and there is a big open space that makes you feel like you can sit and chat with anyone you want casually. It is a very beautiful place to learn more about culture. About a week and a half ago, my mother brought back Duck wings from Great Wall, which were absolutely divine and prepared by other Chinese immigrants / Chinese-Americans. Prepared with an intuitive sense of culture!!! Additionally, I just went to Alley 51 today, and Yume has amazing customer service and friendly staff who are very informative on what combos will come with. It's like a mexican standoff with overpriced food trucks under the guise of CAFETERIA DINING of all things! They also want a tip for EVERYTHING, they are self serve, sometimes you never even see a human being - just a kiosk... but yes, make sure you tip 30% BEFORE that food arrives! Go somewhere else. Yame Noodle is $14-15 per decent adult meal without the obnoxious surcharging. I've had two visits to Alley 51 since the food hall opened and overall I think the food hall is worth checking out. The food hall has a nice amount of vendors with various offerings. I suggest trying out each vendor and even multiple items at each vendor as food items may be hit or miss. There is spacious seating, inside and out, and the staff does a great job of keeping the tables clean. The menu items I've tried thus far is... YUME: Azami Fried Roll ($13.99)- salmon, cream cheese, avocado, and eel sauce- Great combination of flavors, but I prefer my sushi to be room temperature or warm when fried. While this is my preference, I still wanted to give it a try and hoped for the best. - RECOMMENDED. HONEY BUN CAFÉ: Taro Milk Tea ($4.85, with boba +$0.75) and Brown Sugar Milk Tea - both milk teas were absolute perfection and are highly recommended. Jumbo Bun ($3.99) - pork, egg, sausage, jicama, onions - This jumbo bun didn't work for me. I loved the texture of the bun, but the filling didn't resonate with me as it came across sort of dry. Their BBQ bun on the other hand was much better as it was moist and the flavor was magnificent. Shrimp Dumpling (4pc - $4.50) - shrimp filling in tapioca wrapper - I loved every bite. GREAT WALL CHINESE KITCHEN - Roast Duck Rice Plate ($12.95)- served with rice, seasonal vegetables and a spiced corned egg - The roast duck is well-seasoned and tasted great, but I spent most of the time spitting out bones than actually eating. I would get this again, but only if I could get my duck boneless. MANILA GRILL - Halo Halo ($6.99)- a Filipino treat with shaved ice, milk, ube halaya, leche flan, sweetened beans, fruits, coconut jelly and is topped with ice cream and rice krispies - I loved the presentation, the taste, and how loaded it was with goodies. I would definitely get this again. ITAEWON - Hibachi Burrito with shrimp and white sauce ($11.99), Hand Cut Fries ($5.99) - This was my absolute favorite entrée out of my two visits to Alley 51. What a cool spot in CLT. I stopped for lunch here today. Got there shortly before 11am, so everything was closed. All spots/stalls/restaurants opened promptly at 11. I chose to have the absolute best pork fried rice in Charlotte from Honey Buns. Closest to NY Chinese I've had since living here. I also had the BBQ pork buns, which aren't as good as the first time I had them years ago. A special mention goes to the lady in the Korean spot called Mukja. She was very kind and friendly. She let me know that the oil was freshly changed, assuring me of the freshness of the chicken katsu I ordered. The system each stall used to let you know your meal is ready is cool. You get a buzzer telling you it's time to pick up. Be mindful of the day of the week you choose to visit. Tuesday is not a good day. A few stall were closed. Honestly pretty disappointing coming here. I was looking forward to coming for a while and made a trip to go. It shows they close at 10:00pm and we got there at 8:00pm. Most of the places were out of items and closing around 8:30pm. We ordered from a few places and the food just wasn't a WOW item and it could be that we ordered the wrong things.
