They also explained that this is a family owned business, with multiple family members working together on the same jobs, which really showed in how coordinated and invested they were in the work. The scope of work involved installing a stainless steel chimney liner designed to properly vent double gas appliances, upgrading existing connections for safety and code compliance, installing two double tee connections, and finishing everything with a stainless steel top plate and rain cap. They also handled flashing and waterproofing by installing aluminum flashing with ice shield underlayment, carefully removing shingles as needed, and waterproofing the exterior of the chimney to prevent future moisture issues. What stood out most was their professionalism and communication. They explained each step clearly, answered questions without rushing, and made sure I understood why certain upgrades were necessary. I gave my deposit and then was called several weeks later and said they could not do the job for that amount due to the rise in prices during COVID. Just as he said, they arrived Sunday morning and put the liner in. He told me the smell would go away, which I was very dubious about. However, he was correct. She told me one of the guys called in sick- sorry he's sick but I was supposed to be the first appt of the day, that shouldn't have effected my appt. I ended up calling Cranbrook Chimney and they are coming. sorry but PG Chimney is not reliabl- I should have read the reviews first.
