My issue was fixed same day and in my opinion a decent reasonable price. Great service, fast accurate, same day repair. I also appreciate gator garage door sending me emails and photos of the repairs being done so I was kept in real time updates. I really appreciate when a business takes the time to use technology because I know I could've paired myself with another garage door firm that would price quote me fix to repairs and not send me an itemized list of items that were repaired and that they would take the time so I do feel that Gator garage door is superior than most.

I wasn't prepared to spend an arm and a leg, but he was able to hook me up with beautiful Clopay door installed at a really competitive price. There were some delays getting the door from the manufacturer but I appreciate Zach insulated me from all of that (apparently they delivered the wrong one at first haha). He showed up right on time on the day we agreed for the install and before I knew it the door was in. Super excited about it, and the curb appeal difference goes a long way too. Zach is a very personable guy and you can tell he genuinely cares about delivering for customers. Would happily work with him again but I suspect I won't have to - this door is built like a tank and the install appears to be high-quality all around.

The first time he helped us change multiple locks after a move-in, plus he adjusted a very crooked doorknob and put in a peephole at a height accessible for a wheelchair user. (I really appreciated that he asked me for my input and had me test the height before drilling. He never once commented on or asked about my disability, just treating me with friendly respect like any other customer.) He also tried to rework a smaller lock system for us with multiple trips to the hardware store and was honest with us about why it wouldn't be possible, with suggestions for what else to try that was beyond his scope. Though I suspect that was frustrating for him, he never got angry but stayed level-headed and kind. Weeks later he came by to fix a mistake I made in buying an extra key at the Minute Key at the hardware store. Though he'd given us plenty of good quality extra keys, I was tempted by the pretty design. I had even splurged on whatever extra pricey service the Minute Key offered to buff the edges of the key so it'd be "guaranteed" to work better. And what did it do? The very first time I put it in the lock, it got so stuck it wouldn't even turn! A family member experienced in these things tried graphite on it and it wouldn't budge, but I knew John would be able to help. He came out promptly, didn't give me a lecture or anything about using the Minute Key (I was already so embarrassed) and made sure I knew he could always provide me with good quality extra keys. After he got the bad key out, he did a good job explaining why the lock was technically useable but might be damaged and at risk for getting stuck again. He knew we're on a budget, so I appreciated having an affordable option with the risks explained, but in the end I decided to have him re-install a new deadbolt. He got the job done quickly and carefully at a very reasonable price. I feel safer with new locks in place and also safer knowing John is just a text or call away if I make another mistake (though I promise I've learned my lesson)! Thanks, John!

I bought a garage door opener at Sears and Alliance was the company used to do the installation. I have only dealt with one other company in the Austin area and they were not professional at all. Alliance arrived exactly when they said they would and even gave me a call 20 minutes prior to let me know they were almost there. My worries of dealing with another incompetent company were quickly put at ease as I watched Chris install the new opener. I could tell he had been installing openers for a while as he was very knowledgeable on the brand and model of the one I had purchased. The old one was out and the new one was installed, checked out and operational in about 45 minutes allowing me to keep my previous engagements. Chris completed all the settings and made sure I was comfortable with the new system before he left. I was not looking forward to the experience of having another "handyman" installing the opener but it turned out to be pleasant watching someone who actually knew what they were doing complete the task. We purchased our new garage door opener from Sears in North Austin back in 2013. Alliance installed it for us, and it's been working great since! Fast forward to yesterday morning, my wife and I pulled in the garage, closed the door, and then heard a pop, a loud rattle, and when we tried to open the door it would only raise a few inches. Luckily we still had Alliance's contact info. I called and spoke with Chris, told him what happened, and he was able to correctly diagnose that our tension spring had popped. He was able to come by the same afternoon, and within an hour we had a working garage door again, with brand new longer life tension springs, and he even performed the yearly maintenance for us too (greasing the hinges, cleaning the tracks, making sure the chain is tight etc)! Chris's work 100% top notch! He explained everything that needed to be done in layman's terms, and happily entertained any questions my wife and I had. I called Chris with Alliance Overhead Door off Pond Springs because he was close. Glad I did because his work was outstanding. My torsion spring (single) had broken and as a result, there was no way to budge my 150lb door from the closed position. To balance the door better, I suggested we go back with a double spring setup of which he agreed. As a result, I can expect to experience better open/close balance across the torsion bar & door and achieve longer life of the new springs. He was very personable, took great care regarding his own personal safety (in other words, no short cuts) and ensured that the door was operating as it should beyond the installation of the springs. He was able to work me in between appointments too (same day I called). Chris is the man to call should you need any garage door service or repairs. I called these guys because of their fantastic reviews on yelp and they totally came through! Chris did not try to sell me the most expensive equipment- I asked him for upgrades. I like that he wanted to be light on my wallet. They were clean, on time, professional and my new door is amazing- I could not be happier. They are also great at communicating everything via phone and text and Chris pointed me to a very helpful website to help me make my decisions about the door. Chris even thanked me for the work my husband and I had done clearing the garage area they needed to work. It is hard work, so if they come to your house, be courteous and clear your space so they can do their jobs- as a bonus you can declutter and organize in the process! We needed a garage motor installed at our new home and decided to hire Chris at Alliance Overhead Door after reading great reviews. Needless to say, I wasn't disappointed a bit. He was professional, honest and reliable and he did a great job installing our opener. He drove 40 mins to complete the job the same day after I called him in the morning. He was running late from his previous jobs but he kept calling me to keep me in the loop. Had to replace my garage door opener after the gear sprocket tore right off and wanted to upgrade my opener with some new features. Chris came out to install the new opener and the whole experience was fantastic. Called me to let me know what time I could expect him and was right on time. He pointed out some other problems I had with the spring and plastic rollers on the door that were both almost 10 years old. Did not feel at all like he was trying to sell me additional services and repairs, he just educated me with the right info and costs so I could make some educated trade offs and decisions. All the 5-star reviews for this company are well deserved! I had a cable detach from one of the drums such that my door was completely inoperable, even manually.. I contacted Alliance late Friday night and Chris was already at my house by noon Saturday. He not only repaired the original issue, he figured out the root cause of the failure (some pretty shoddy work in the original installation) and fixed that as well. He even took care of a DIY project for the door that I had been putting off for months at no additional charge. The door used to groan and squeal constantly, now it runs smooth as a top. Chris is running one of the best service Companies in this area. I called Saturday morning and he was at the house by 4pm. I had him repair a garage door spring several years ago, and fortunately saved his contact info. I am so glad that I did. Although springs are supposed to be good for 10 years, our family of five opens and closes the garage about 10-15 times a day. Needless to say, we get fewer years out of a spring. Chris is professional, courteous, and prices are very fair. He also communicates about his schedule and he arrived exactly on time. I recommend his Company to every friend and neighbor. Alliance Overhead door was an outstanding experience. Chris (the owner) personally called me back, and was the one who came out to fix the door. Chris squeezed us in between other existing appointments since my wife's care was locked in the garage. We originally only had one spring (which broke) but Chris recommend a second spring system since we use our garage door like a front door and the dual spring would last longer with our heavy use. Chris only charged the price of the part to upgrade from one spring to two and still was about half the price as other companies quoted me just for one single spring. Alliance beats all other prices by far, and they do quality work. I would highly recommend Alliance and Chris to anyone who has garage door problems. read more

I called Alliance Overhead based on the stellar ratings on Yelp, and I wasn't disappointed. Friendly, fast service, and very reasonably priced. Frankly, I thought I was going to be paying a lot more to fix my door when the opener ripped off of the door. Other services I've used in the past would likely have recommended a new panel, or an entirely new door. Chris reattached the opener to the door with a reinforced piece that doesn't look like it will ever come off, and the price was very reasonable. He also repaired the mechanism on another garage door that wasn't working, again, at a very good price. His number is now on the garage wall next to the opener, and I wouldn't think of calling anyone else for garage door repairs. read more

This morning I pull into my garage, pressed the button to close it, then halfway down I heard a snap, then there is a crash. The door came down hard. I took a good look at the damage and found a broken cable. I immediately started calling around. I saw Alliance, called and I got a quote right away. I called a couple of other places and Alliance had the best price so I choose to go with them. Chris called me when he was on the way. When he got here, he went to work right away. He replaced the wire and gave me some helpful pointers on what needed improvement without trying to say that I needed something else done. Cant speak to their work as they never showed up. Called them on a Friday and made an appointment for Monday 8-10a. At 9:45a I texted Chris to see if they were on the way. Got the response they would be couple hours late and suggested I call other companies to come out. I questioned him so closer to noon? His response is "things change" and suggested calling other companies. As a business owner I know things change hourly, but being unprofessional about it is unacceptable. I have no problem calling other companies the issue is I'm running a business and need my door operable and having to wait all weekend then they himhaw on the appointment and having to find another company to come out is just very frustrating. read more

One of the springs on our garage door broke late in the afternoon. Based on the reviews here on Yelp, I called Alliance Overhead Door and talked to Chris. Since we had one of our vehicles not in the garage at the time, we agreed on an 8-10 a.m. window the next morning. We could not be happier with Chris and the professional, expert work he did. Arrived easily within the window, gave the 10-minute-prior courtesy call, assessed the situation and had us back up and running quickly. He did great work and answered all our questions. Can't say enough about Chris and his professionalism and honesty. Our old garage door opener (original installation) was fried and Chris came to the rescue. Not only did he suggest the proper new opener with the correct size motor for our large heavy door, but he also did an "adjustment" on the springs and cables on the original install. Little did I know they were in a dangerous state and he showed me why they were dangerous. Visual proof! He did an excellent job and we now have the Mercedes Benz of garage door openers...quality not cost. What an accommodating guy! His calendar was seemingly wide open when I first contacted him, and when I had to reschedule the day of his visit due to work, he was again wide open. Then when the day came for his visit he got stuck in traffic, showed up after 5:00 pm, and stayed until 7:00 pm to finish the job. Oh, and he did a great job installing a new garage door opener and patiently walking me through the features and operations. They came out in about 90 minutes of our call and immediately knew what caused our door to break. The counterbalance spring broke on our garage door, making it inoperable. We fortunately had one car out of the garage when it happened, but Chris still came by and got the door operating with a temporary fix that same evening. He installed the new springs the following week, rebalanced the door and repaired a couple of cables and rollers. We are now good to go with better-than-new equipment. One of our garage doors had a torsion spring break. While the phone number might not be quite 24/7 --I didn't really expect an answer at 2300 on Friday-- I was able to place a call today (Saturday) and get a quote of 150 USD total for parts, labour, and tax. Chris arrived two hours later and had the spring replaced and the garage door functional again in under an hour, all at the quoted price. Awesome! I initially tried another garage door company I found on Yelp who said they could have a door and opener installed but had to check on availability of a 12x7 door since it was an odd size. I understand taking a night off, just state it in your voice mail. I also noticed a lawsuit from a former employee, I do not know the details, but courts usually do not find against the employer so I tend to think there is some merit to the situation. There appears to be a pattern on not being responsive, that coupled with the noted lawsuit and I will not be using this company again and I encourage others to think twice as well.

He gave me three options. I initially said replace everything but rollers. I changed my mind and had Phil replace everything. He was fast and did great job. Now I need to replace opener. He said it was getting near replacement time and making noises in gears. Definitely great service and I will be calling them for the garage door service now.
