If you need garage repair work in the greater Austin area, these are your guys. We had a torsion spring break, making it difficult to open our oversized and heavy garage door. Chris was very quick to come back with a competitive quote. Winston came out the same day (a Saturday) and made a temporary repair to get the door operational while he acquired the oversized springs for our heavy door. I purchased a garage door opener from Sears with installation. Alliance Overhead Doors was Sears' installation company for this job. I was impressed with their professionalism and communication. Chris was prompt, quick to respond to texts, and completed the job quickly. When I installed a bulb the next day and one socket was not functioning, Chris entered a problem ticket with Sears and came back within a couple of days to repair it. With a 3 bay garage our new house looked like garage-mahal, I wasn't thrilled with it. Joseph came out and fixed it, but it would not work as I left the garage which was the same problem we had after son tried to fix it. It was old, so decided to get a new one and I'm glad I did! I think yelp's star rating system is dysfunctional..it won't let me select 10 stars!! Last night, my wife came home from work around 6pm and parked her car in the garage. 15 minutes later, we hear a BOOOMMM!! from the garage. Spring broke in half. I called Chris up to see if we could schedule something, expecting him to be booked for the next week or so. He had things scheduled the next day so instead, went out of his way to come IMMEDIATELY and our garage door was fixed by 7:30pm! Thank the Lord for honest, 24/7, repair technicians! Our garage door had jammed and jumped off track at 10 pm on a Saturday night. We debated whether or not we should call someone then, wait to see if we could find someone to work on Sunday, or call on Monday morning. I saw the reviews on Yelp about Chris and we called him about 10:15 pm. He was upfront and told us that he could come out as soon as possible, but that would incur an extra charge, if we could wait until after church the next day, he'd be right over without a surcharge. We opted for the Sunday repair. Chris called to tell us he was on his way around 11:30 am on Sunday morning, and showed up within minutes. He looked at the door and gave us a very honest assessment of the situation. He said that it was repairable, and he set to work to straighten it all out. He told us he would always be honest, fair and give us options of any work or recommendations...and he lived up to his word! His price for the repair was at least 1/2 to 2/3 less than we expected...much less than the last time we needed a Sunday repair call on the same door years ago. One of the two springs for my garage door broke after years of service. I need to have the pair replaced as soon as possible. I contacted Allicance Overhead Door and got response with hours. The price was fair and I was able to set up the appointment for the day that works well for me. When Chris showed up, he replaced the springs very quickly. The garage door opener was fairly old. I was concerned that it may have been damaaged when it lifted door for days without only one functional spring. Chris checked it and told me that it didn't need to be replaced. In addition, I asked Chris an unrelated question(how to reset a existing wireless key pad). He read the manual and helped me reset / test the password even though it was the end of Friday when he is about to start his weekend. I had a great experience from the guys at Alliance Overhead Door. The installer was nice and honest. He seemed to know exactly what he was doing, and thanks to him I managed to get a partial refund from Amazon (where I bought the garage door opener) since it was missing a few parts and the belt was not in perfect condition(it was bought from Amazon warehouse). This was the first time a garage door opener had been installed at my garage, so extra work was required. The installer even used his own parts for some sections. So far we have used it daily with no problems and it looks professional, which would not have been the case should I had tackled this myself, not to mention how long it would have taken me. Chris was awesome! Called him at around 4:30PM on a Sunday with a non-emergency service problem. Said it was OK to come Monday but he came out Sunday anyways. He fixed the broken spring I had him go ahead a replace the rollers. He also did a lube and tuneup. He had the job done quickly and even worked around all the junk in my garage without complaining :-) The doors now work beautifully and sound great (make very little noise now). After a quick visit, the diagnosis was the trim that I put on that was sticking to the door. I had Chris and another highly reviewed guy come out, and I can't remember there ever being a bigger differential in competence between service providers. Both came out within hours but only one was wearing suspenders and knew what he was doing, Chris. Funny guy, made a bunch of adjustments and added a support bar, and presto, smooth as butter. Other guy said I needed new panel and it was damaged because someone tried to break in...and was going to charge four times what Chris charged. Real issue was it was self installed by prior home owner who had no idea what they were doing. read more

He also found some screws missing in other areas and added them and lubed all the parts. I really appreciated how thorough he was and he even advised me on some items to look for.
