Great shop here and very helpful staff. Helping a friend install my clutch in my Tacoma at his nearby shop & needed some last minute parts to complete the install. These guys are absolute professionals. It's so refreshing to walk into an auto parts store and talk to people that know what they're doing as opposed to the big chains. Upon shopping there, my car broke down in front (coincidentally) and they helped me troubleshoot it right there on the spot. And mind you, they are not a mechanic. They're just a part store. But because they're smart and kind and take care of their customers we figured out what was wrong with my vehicle right there and was able to fix it on the spot. I had a broken motor mount on my car. I called several auto stores asking for the motor mount and bolt, but know one could not give any assistance. I called valley auto parts and spoke to Don. Explained what I was trying to do, and what the part looked liked. Don ask a few simple questions checked his inventory and informed me that he did have the part I was looking for. He even explained how it looked and that he was sure it was the part I was looking for. So I drove down to his store which was only a couple blocks from my house. I met with Don and he already had pulled the product and had it waiting for me at his desk. To my surprise it was indeed the part that I needed, so I purchased the item and a few other things. My wife and I went here to get a new battery and got some of the best service Don the owner was super helpful we had a issue with our coolant cap and needed another but the cap broke and a piece was left and don and my wife kept at it until don insisted he get it off and indeed he did this is a great store right on tennyson across from 7-11 and a ice cream shop he is awesome!! read more

We are new to the area. Needed to find a new auto parts supplier. Randomly stopped in at Valley Auto Parts on Tennyson Road. Walked in, instantly loved the "old school" feel that you get from back in the day when auto part stores used to sell more than just candy bars and potato chips. Car parts are stacked everywhere and the store cat has to come up and greet you. The staff behind the counter is super helpful. On my second visit, Don, the store owner heard me explain my issue and rather than tell me how to fix it, he came out to where I was parked in front of his store and helped me change out that bad part right on the spot. And he even added a few bolts that were missing from other systems within the engine compartment. Very cool. Valley Auto Parts is my newest partner in keeping eight cars running fine and on the road. I recently needed a very specific replacement part for my car. I originally went to a competitor store that's part of a National chain. That store was selling this small part for over $300. Someone in my family mentioned they had seen Valley Auto Parts commercial. I gave the store a call, and Don, an employee there immediately answered. He kindly looked up the part number and mentioned that it was in stock at one of their locations in Santa Rosa, and was for sale for only $25 -- great value! I called the Hayward location at 2PM and by 4:30PM in the same day the part was already available. Don gave me a follow up call to let me know that I could come pick up the part. When I arrived a few minutes later, Don helped me buy the part within just moments of entering the store. This was a terrific shopping experience -- great prices, exceptional service, and knowledgeable & friendly employees, extremely convenient and easy overall! Needed a radiator cap for my 2001 Honda Accord V6. Simple right? Not for O'Reilly & Auto zone... Bought 2 from different O'Reilly's, first trip to Oreillys got me wrong cap, same deal on second trip...- Auto zone didn't have any! Went to Valley Auto Parts-- On a Sunday!--and they had the correct radiator cap! And the price was less than O'Reilly's & Auto Zone! This place is Great! So nice to deal with a competent knowledgeable car parts dude (counter sales man?)! Helpful, and really sharp- even handed me a measuring caliper immediately when I asked to measure the rad cap. The kid at O'Reilly's started mumbling "you want brake parts or something...when I asked to use caliper to see if part he was trying to sell me was the right size! Valley Auto parts is not a huge store, but it made a big impression on me! Shoulda just gone here first! Now I need to go back to Oreillys to return the Radiator caps that didn't fit! read more
