These folks are true locksmiths. I have twice gone to them to obtain unusual keys and they came through both times. Yestereday, I needed a key reproduced for a lever lock from South Africa. It took them about 20 minutes to make the key, but it works perfectly and the price was reasonable. I cannot recommend them more highly. read more

Made keys, and they work. Much better than the hardware store down the road which tried and failed to make me keys. Hardware store was cheap - about two bucks/key. This place was more - about $5.50/key, but the keys are brass, not nickel, and - like I mentioned above - they work. That's the important part. read more

I ordered a special blank key online since Home Depot didn't have them. After the blank key arrived in the mail, I went to Home Depot to have the key cut. That's when I learned that they use "special" machines to cut the keys, very hands off (i.e.-place the blank and original keys into the machine, press the start button, and presto!!! duplicate key made). Unfortunately this system only works for keys that match their templates. I googled for local locksmiths and found this place. In less than 5 minutes I was on my way out the door, with a perfectly cut key. When I mentioned that Home Depot wasn't able to cut my key, they exclaimed they have those key making machines for dummies. Since I already had the blank key it only costed me $2. read more

I cannot say enough positive things about Allied Safe & Lock. We had a non-functioning keypad lock -- the second one put in by another locksmith (not a great customer experience by comparison). Allied came out to see if it was repairable or needed replaced. They tweaked something inside that looked mis-installed and they figured out the battery was low and that also was a potential factor. They fixed it and cut two new keys for us. AND YET, try as I might, they refused any payment given it was a relatively quick fix for them. It was more than reasonable to pay them for their time but they would not accept it. They are clearly fair/honest, do great work and offered exceptional customer service (both initially on the phone and in-person, to include safe COVID protocols). Unlocked my front door one evening, and when I pulled the key out, the whole lock cylinder came with it, springs flying everywhere. Called Allied Safe & Lock when they opened the next morning, and Stephen talked me through removing the lock from the door so I could bring it to their shop and avoid a house call fee. Left it with him to reassemble, and he called to say it was ready an hour later. Super easy, friendly service. Definitely will use them again. read more

I lost the keys to an old deadbolt lock and was worried it would need to be removed from the door. Allied came, changed the cylinder and the doorknob, and gave me new keys, all without damaging the door. I had problems with another lock, and Dan told me to switch keys and lubricate it before I spent money unnecessarily. They are great professionals. read more

Since they're near my house and there was one Yelp review, I had Allied come over to repair a broken deadbolt lock on my back door. The locksmith showed up at the agreed-upon time, was polite and knowledgable, and made the repair quickly. The bill seemed a little high, but that's the way it goes with locksmiths, I guess. These guys are great. They are really knowledgeable about their product and will tell you when you are asking for the wrong thing rather than just ring up the easy sale. The building I live in told me to go to another fancier locksmith for my specialized keys. It kept very limited hours, the people were doing you a favor and they gave me bad keys twice! My experience with Allied Safe & Lock was great from my first phone call. Bruce, who answered the phone, offered several options for fixing the jammed lock so that I wouldn't have to pay for a locksmith to come and look at it. Unfortunately, the problem was too far gone for those options to work. The locksmith who came to my place was courteous, helpful and quick. In addition to fixing the jammed lock, he took a look at the other locks in the house and tightened up a deadbolt and drilled a larger hole for a bolt in the jamb of another door at no additional cost. He answered all of my questions honestly and didn't try to sell me services that weren't needed. Overall, a great experience and I'm happy that I was able to use a local business! read more
