Alloro was such a great dining experience and honestly made even better by our server, Latoya; she was an absolute gem. From the second we sat down, she was attentive, friendly, and just on top of everything without ever feeling overbearing. You can tell she genuinely cares about making sure you have a good experience. We started with a lemon drop and an Italian margarita, both really good and a fun way to kick things off. They brought out bread to the table, which was just okay, nothing super memorable, but the whipped butter definitely stole the show. For dinner, we went with the red snapper special, plus risotto and Brussels sprouts, and everything was delicious. The snapper was perfectly cooked and the sides paired really well with it. You could tell everything was fresh and thoughtfully prepared. Overall, such a great spot, but Latoya really made it stand out. She was so accommodating and truly on top of it the entire time. while staying at the the Ritz Carlton resort in St. Thomas, one of the restaurants is Alloro. Location on the resort is nice and the server was super friendly. All three of us had a pasta dish and nobody had a complaint, which is rare. They have a full bar and a small sitting area inside. They also have a small sitting area outside that overlooks the water. Traditional Italian food and you can tell its house made pasta. We plan to go back before we leave the island. The only real complaint is the food comes way too fast. I'm sorry I didn't take pictures, but I'll do better the next time. We plan to go back, and I'll edit this post with that experience. read more

Located on the Ritz campus. The food is average. It's comparable to the strip mall "Italian" places without the variety. Prices typical of resort pricing. It's convenient if you have to eat on campus. The best thing was the pizza that the kid ordered. We adults had literally one of each pasta entree- again all came out just warm and tasted blah. Caesar was - ah OK I guess. The bread along with olive oil and balsamic was actually good. The desserts were meh.... Wine list solid. BEST DESSERT I HAVE EVER HAD! Let me start off by saying we had stayed here for a week and had went to multiple islands and nothing topped this dessert. We got the Ricotta cheese cake that comes with limoncello sorbet and they are like PB and J never should be separated, they paired so perfectly together your taste buds got both sides of the sweet scale in one. After a very long enjoyable day at the beach we stopped here after dinner to see if we could get dessert to go and the service was amazing, they got our order in fast (even though we didn't eat there). We came back multiple times for this just because it stayed on our mind the whole trip. A must have if you are visiting or staying here. read more

Thought we would treat ourselves to a nice dinner so maybe expectations were too high. We had a reservation but still ended up waiting about 20 minutes to be seated, even though there were open tables both inside and outside and they didn't appear to be busy. When we finally were seated, we sat for about 10 minutes before someone (not our server) came to the table to offer water and bread. About 10 more minutes our server arrived. Everyone was very nice but they were very disorganized. Our order was simple. Just ice water, no other beverages or appetizers, Frutti Di Mare, Norma, Carbonara and Rigatoni (see pictures). The food was "ok" at best, but very bland. Even the Frutti Di Mare, which the server warned me was spicy, was not. The black pepper I sprinkled on was the spiciest part of the dish. It was a long day, we had been at the table a long time and everyone was tired so we didn't order desert or coffee. St Thomas is expensive but there are better places to go to spend that kind of $$$. read more

The other employees are still in training so it is clear there are some road bumps like leaning over into peoples food or putting dirty forks back on the table but I am sure that will improve with time. The dining experience was underwhelming. We were tired from a day at the beach so we chose to dine at the resort. The appetizers of bruschetta and meatballs were amazing, so we were expecting the entrees to be just as good. Unfortunately, we were disappointed. 3 out of 4 pasta dishes came out lukewarm. The 2 pizzas we got were mediocre. The crust was not crispy at all, too much bread. We sent the pasta back to be heated, but they were not great. The gnocchi had a very basic marinara sauce. Scallop alfredo and rigatoni was decent. Seafood pasta was tasty, not a lot of seafood though. Overall, we're regretting not driving off site to dinner instead. read more

Very good experience starts with one dish and one person. For us, it was Japan the bartender and the polenta bites appetizer. From the moment we sat down (originally for just a drink before going somewhere elsewhere for dinner) Jason took the time to learn not only our names but a little bit about us and what we liked to drink. We watched him make each drink with precision, care and craft. He learned everyone's name at the bar and somehow managed personal attention and dedication to each of the many couples and groups surrounding us. We were between appetizers, but he convinced us into the polenta bites after a small questionnaire and that was the beginning of our fabulous meal! Get the polenta bites... they are AMAZING. Then we split a pizza (the sausage one) and a pasta (tagliatelle) for our entrees. I wish we could have tried more and/or made it to dessert but everything was so good we will have to try other things another night. We can't wait to come back and hope that Jason is back at the bar to create our cocktails and provide another exceptional evening. read more

Restaurant is super nice, interior is very coastal modern. Hosts are friendly and attentive. Super disappointed with the service, even though there were only three other small parties in the restaurant, we waited an hour between our appetizers (when our server collected our plates) and when our entrees were dropped. In the meantime we saw no trace of our server, who didn't seem preoccupied with much as we saw him in the kitchen laughing with the other staff and chatting. Super disappointing to see the lack of attentiveness in such a fine dining restaurant that is related to the Ritz. For almost $40 bucks per entree and $25 for a salad, I'd except much better service. read more

We were wanting a nice night out with some good Italian food, but unfortunately this evening turned out subpar. When initially pouring our water it leaked all over the table, but wasn't wiped up. That was the first and last time our waters were filled. We ordered Giovanni pizza, which was flavorful with a good crust.... But after being seated with a view of the pizza oven I am a bit concerned about how this place is run. The person topping the pizzas was eating more toppings than went on the pizza, which was a bit comical to watch... if it wasn't for her bare hands continually dipping into the toppings. Don't worry, she had a glove, but she was carrying it around and it wasn't on her hand. The carbonara was lacking in flavor and more pancetta was needed. After trying to order THREE different wines, we finally found one they had in stock. It was super warm, but whatever we needed a drink. I would have got a cocktail, but the hostess forgot to bring a cocktail menu. The ambiance was pretty and the server was nice, but the service was slow. Overall, we were disappointed - especially for the price point and it being at the Ritz. read more

This location is the most upscale on the on-resort dining options. If you are looking for a fancy dinner, this is the place to go. Having stated that, the dress code is not strict so you can have a casual dinner here as well. The menu changes but I do not know with what frequency. The website menu was different that our paper menu last night. Some items were similar/retained but there were also new additions. The wine list is decent and provides more options than at the club lounge. The style is listed as 'Sicilian' and perhaps it is, but it also seemed to have some mainland Italian influences. Regardless the preparation of the dishes was well executed and remained faithful to the Italian theme. For example, the ribeye was prepared with a garlic pesto garnish and the seasoning was distinctly Italian in flavor profile (although I could not identify every herb for you). The quality of the food was superb, and the presentation appealing... see attached photos. One issue with the menu: the 'whole lobster' is really a whole tail. The only reasons I did not give five stars are because of the menu issue regarding the lobster (I had to ask to find out the 'whole lobster' was just a tail) and because of the seating. There are options that include next to propane fire pits, on the open large patio, indoors, the covered smaller patio, and a romantic beach side candlelit table. We were not offered a choice from the concierge when booking, so I assumed we would be give a choice when we arrived (of course I understood the beachside was likely very limited and needed to be requested, but I assumed the other choices would be offered at the door). When we arrived we were quickly whisked to our seats in the small covered patio... confused, I assumed the empty tables indoors must be closed for Covid related safety reasons... and that the other outdoor seating was full. Imagine my disappointment when the next two tables to be sat were placed indoors. If offered the choice, Iwould have requested indoors. The failure to offer that choice with either booking or at arrival is unacceptable for a venue of this quality. Overall a positive experience and we will be back during this trip. If ownership or management reads this; fix the menu regarding the lobster and instruct your staff to offer seating choices to your guests. read more

The food was spectacular. Although pricey, we ate here twice since we were staying in the hotel. The carbonara was legit, the lobster (although cost $120) was arguably one of the best lobsters I've ever eaten. The steak (again pricey) was actually super good and a la par with many US restaurants charging the same. Bruschetta was incredible, wine selection excellent. The service, while super friendly, always seemed a little short staffed. Things took some time and it be of the two nights either our waitress was somewhere else mentally or had way too much going on for one person (I think the latter) Finally, the ambiance is spectacular, great views and the outside dining has ocean sounds, smells, and great views of the neighboring island. Highly recommend. Only thing that got this bad boy 4 stars was the struggling staff and a little pricey for the potions. More staff than portions considering where we were though. read more

It then took over 20 minutes to bring us water and take our drink orders. It took over 40 minutes to bring our food after ordering. Very little interaction with the wait staff. Service was good, but we were sat in the bar (no reservation and we weren't stay at resort) I think the waitress was having trouble keeping up with us over her tables in the restaurant. We ordered special which was red snapper...15 minutes later we were told our food would be right out ..and then waitress informed us that we would get swordfish instead because they were out of snapper...10 minutes later we were told the chef found some red snapper. Our server Giles was great. Food was really good but not a huge jump in quality from kids menu pasta to "fancy" pasta of main menu. The burrata itself was delicious but fresh tomatoes are hard to come by here and the arugula dominated the salad. The scallops were cooked perfectly but the Alfredo was drowned in oil and cream. Obviously good but too heavy to actually eat a decent portion. Wine selection and cocktails were good as expected with it being part of the ritz. I would recommend coming here after a long active day and carb loading on the basic pastas and bread/olive tempenade. read more
