I had my brakes done here, then my car started making a noise and would get louder as I drove faster brought it back told them this had been making a noise since they worked on it , they tried to tell me it was my barring's which made no sense as my car is too new, they could not get the part and told me to take it the the dealer upon taking it to the dealer that put on lift immediately as that they had not put the lug nuts on right at all my wheels were so lose they don't know how tires stayed on I could have gotten hurt or hurt others clearly these fucking people haven't a clue to what they are doing if they can't figure out that they didn't put lug nuts on right! Furious that they would try to scam me into buying barring's! Will never be back at this joke of a place! Thank god they don't make barring's aftermarket or they would have taken me for a ride ! This used to be my favorite spot because the owner (Armen) is very reasonable and helpful and I have been coming here for over 8 years. I have done everything from replacing sensors to oil changes to replacing my gas tank to FULL SERVICE jobs. However, after a subpar experience dealing with Jorge, I have to change my review to 1 star and WILL NOT be returning. My car began overheating in late August and I took it in to get it diagnosed. I paid the fee to have them look my car over. Rather than actually doing the work necessary, Jorge just dumped a bunch of coolant into the reservoir and said "guess it was low but not sure why" and claimed he could not duplicate the issue. I am not a mechanic but anyone with common sense could tell he just did not feel like doing the extra work to figure out the source of the overheating- I even offered to pay more to have him go more in depth to figure it out! However... he just dismissed me and acted like everything was fine even though I explained the DETAILS- that when I was driving, it would not overheat but at idle or very slow speeds, it would spike to the hottest temperature. Clearly this is a major problem but Jorge did not seem to care one bit. I did not feel like fussing and figured maybe my car would go back to normal. Well, it did not, and it kept overheating. Turns out, the problem continued and I went to another mechanic who (after some considerable effort) discovered some issues with my engine (which would have been for sure diagnosable when Jorge looked at it had he actually given a hoot). At my request, this other mechanic even replaced the fan sensor and thermostat sensor so that all bases could be covered. And thankfully, I was able to have my heads resurfaced and got everything fixed for a reasonable price. However, if I had not found a mechanic who actually tried to do his job, I would have ended up paying triple or quadruple the amount and possibly had to give up on my car because the engine would have seized if the problem had not been properly diagnosed. This is not the first time I have been treated poorly at a mechanic, but I will say it is the first time I was COMPLETELY dismissed and sadly, Armen loses a great customer because he has what appears to be lazy staff who do not seem to care. Sorry, Armen. **response to owner's comments**Nice that the owner responded to my concerns in a timely manner. However, what he may fail to understand at this point is that while I see he is trying to defend his employee/company, it is without a doubt that Jorge could have done MUCH MORE to assist. I went a few days later to another mechanic who duplicated the issue, did a visual test and noted major issues with my car upon that inspection and then requested permission to do an engine load test. They ended up diagnosing that the head gasket had been compromised at some point. Armen is a respectable, upstanding, family guy and I looked forward to getting my car serviced here but when he is not on the premises, things are half assed and I dread going. Fortunately for him, there does not seem to be any crookery or competency issues, however, the customer service is hugely lacking when he is not present. If you do not want the run around or a half ass fix to your car, go visit All Star Auto when Armen is on duty. I have had so many issues and headaches with my car and a lot more issues and headaches trying to figure out what is going on and get the problems solved permanently. I have been searching for a shop that was knowledgeable, organized, and very experienced. This shop is not the closest to me but from hearing good things and reading all of the reviews I knew that this is where I needed to bring my car. On my way here to get it looked at, my cars engine had stopped working again which had been an ongoing issue so I had it towed here the rest of the way. I am so thankful that I did because the owner Armen is highly intelligent and informative. The shop is very organized, all the staff are friendly, and there is a air conditioned room with comfortable seating that I was able to get a lot of work done while my car was being looked at. Within a couple of hours whatever Armen had suggested based on all that I had been describing was true. The other shops I had taken it to were trying to fix the surface problems but here they went to the root of the issue. Do not use these people!! They Will rip you off! I noticed oil in my driveway one week ago and it got worse. Than my "INSPECTION LIGHT" went on. So I came in here to do a "full inspection" as my INSPECTION DUE light was on. They said my car was fine and just needed to get my brake fluid Serviced and a throttle body service. When I picked up my car I asked if he checked my oil and he said it was fine that I must have just gotten it done because there was no issues with it. I left town that day for Easter in my friend's car that day not mine. Literally the day I got back and used my car the oil light went on. I called All Star back to tell them they said they wouldn't have noticed if oil needed to be changed unless my light was on saying it was due. Look I'm not a mechanic or a dude but even I know that's BS. You don't need a car light to tell you an oil change is due so I took it to another place to get a second inspection and they said that I had 2 leaks in my car and it should have been detected with the 1st inspection and fixed along with an Oil change BECAUSE my oil WAS low. I came to confront these people and they kept telling me that there was no leak when I brought the car here which is BS because my car was leaking i told them HENCE why my inspection light went on prior to me bringing it. He then said that it could have started leaking as soon as I left his auto shop....REALLY????? To Make matters worse I found out that they GOUGED me on their prices!! The guy who would not tell me whether hes the manager or not started yelling at me calling me look lady and telling me that I'm getting an opinion from a bunch of little boys at a lube station because they're trying to sell me more work. First they were men not boys and they don't do those jobs they are Strictly lube company they don't do repairs so that's how I know this guy was dishonest. So instead of getting a complete inspection I paid $342 for a flush brake fluid and throttle body service which I didn't even need. The owner Armen is great and business runs smoothly when he is at the shop. When he is not here like today, service goes to shit. For example, I came in at 12 noon and there was an hour and a half wait. I asked to leave my names & number but no, there was no point unless I left my car behind. I said I would just come back after running other errands. Upon my return I was informed that they RAN OUT OF OIL for oil & filter changes. Oh, just the $18 oil though, conveniently they had plenty of the $35 oil on hand. Riiiight. The best they could do on the price was $29. A real business would have marked it down to the $18 price since it's their fault that they cannot order their basic supplies correctly. I had some vibrations at freeway speeds so I called this shop (close to my work). Armen answered the phone and said that it could be the wheels out of balance or it can be an axle. Since I just had tires just put on I figured it had to be an axle. I dropped the car off and went on to work. After a couple hours Armen called saying that yes the axles were at fault and I should replace them. I was shocked at the price and even telling me that the car would be ready that same day. Needless to say I was very happy since I did not have to leave the car overnight and on the drive home from work the car felt perfect!! This experience at this shop was the worst ever. This shop needs to be closed down . Armen is not qualified to be working on Mercedes engine. He just tells customers lies and does not follow through. He even went so far as got paid for the job but did not finish it. He has no customer service. I had my car here for 6 weeks and the car stopped working the same day it was over $3,000worth of paid work for the car not to run. If you need a minor service go ahead but anything major do not bring your car. Also if you are of African American decent he will treat like you don't have money. He let my car sit under a tree collect sap and didn't have the decency to wash it before calling me to have it picked up. Please if you don't know what's wrong with your car don't bring it here because he has no idea what he's doing and he's ONLY Concerned with taking your money NOT concerned with doing a good job! My car does not run, same day it was picked up. I paid the deductible for the service. Which was no service at all. Of course I wouldn't let this run down shop service my brakes. The battery was not an issue before bringing it to this repair shop. The owner doesn't take responsibility for his actions just places blame on others. Regardless of who paid YOU got paid yet my car does not run! Also the only reason I said it was because I was African American is you said we needed to pay upfront for the service before you would work on it because a lot of people don't pay and you have to place a lien on the car. Visiting family in the area when our car had major issues. Being a Friday I couldn't find anyone that would take a look. After my 15th call these guys offered to help and run a diagnostic test. Because it was an electrical issue and their computers weren't picking up all the problems, they advised me to find a dealership so he wouldn't waste money throwing parts at the car till it was fixed. He already knew how stressed I was being we were on vacation and did not charge me for the diagnostic test which usually run over $100. So this is a follow-up to my original post with my Toyota Yaris engine light. Went to another mechanic and was told that nothing was wrong with the engine. Also the new mechanic asked us why we would pay $1400 just so all-star auto can take the engine apart without even any guarantee of finding a problem or even fixing it? I also own a Lexus ES 330 that I used to take here for oil changes all the time and I used to get told that my brake pads are running at 10-20% left and so I would just go ahead and do it. However, a couple of months ago, they told me the same thing that my front break pads were running low at about 20% and that I should change it. I was running a bit low on cash and decided to hold off. Just yesterday, I went to MIDAS to do my oil change and guess what the told me? Running low on the break pads, but still at 40% left. So why would all-star auto tell me something different??? Hmmmm... So to sum it up, going there for the oil change is ok bc it's cheap, but as far as any recommendations that they make to your car, I would seek a second opinion bc it may just be unnecessary work on your car. Note: This schmuck likes to brag about how successful he's been even without a college education. So let's think why??? Is it the oil change or the questionable recommendations that they make when doing your oil change? Hmmmmm....... read more

Customer service was bad. I went in to ask about an oil change. I drove up, got out of my vehicle and walked into the shop. A guy told me "he can help you" I asked about availability for an oil change, he pointed and said again, "he can help you", but the guy outside that I was being referenced to, was cussing and ignored me. I did not think he was the employee. I stood in front of him, and then by my car and still nothing. I went into the office and then the same cussing guy from outside came in and now he asked how he could help me! They were busy and my schedule wouldn't fit their timeline so I left. Overall, employees or owners shouldn't be cussing in front of customers, or ignoring people while they socialize and watch videos on their phones. read more
