On Oct 5, I had an appointment with another dentist but the receptionist was busy talking on the phone so I walked away about 2 blocks and found Allure Dental.. made an appt for Oct 11, to take x-rays, walked in staff was nice - Dr was very professional as well as nice. Didn't expect it but I actually ended up getting some of the dental work done I initially had been needing to complete. Also, to respond (above review ) and PROVE what kind of business it is. So, after my horrible visit with the Dr., and my yelp review, Marcella (office manager) said they were very sorry, felt bad, and wanted to be a reputable business so they OFFERED to reimburse me for my services if I go to another dentist and provide a recipt. So on 11-13-2017 I went to another dentist and paid $280 for my services and decided I was going to take them up on their offer and see if they are as good/loyal/reputable as they say they are. That week I emailed them a copy of my recipt. NO RESPONSE!!! So I called them and Marcella acknowledged she did get the email and forwarded it to the accounting person. Okay..... DECEMBER still no check and no response. I called back in January and Marcella told me the Dr. said he would only reimburse me if I DELETE my review I told her that he never said that to me and she was the one that OFFERED the reimbursement, but to have him give me a call. It is now the end of January (3 months later) still no call from the Dr., still no call from Marcella, and still no check. Im had an appointment with this office in May, 2017 for a deep cleaning which was extremely pleasant from begining to end. The doctor and his staff are very courteous an caring. Let me tell you the story of how I ended up finding the allure dental arts and meet the best dentist Dr. Bijan Afar. There was an event at El Monte police station I was one of the vendors there passing out flyers business cards and giveaways. Two young girls approached me gave me a goodie bag filled with toothpaste mouthwash and a gift card that said free teeth whitening. The girls were super friendly and said "we are across the way".The dentist office is located in front of the El Monte court and right next to the El Monte police station. Had a problem with mother-in-law's dentures. Another dentist said there was a questionable abscess. She has moderate Alzheimer's and does not speak English. Staff was kind to offer cold water as it was hot that day. Dr Afar was great with her. He was gentle and patient with her. Another dentist recommended new dentures but Dr Afar did not find anything wrong and said there was nothing wrong with her current dentures We would be creating problems and causing her pain if we proceeded with it. I'm so blessed that I met Dr. Afar's staff (Maricella) at a community outreach. She handed me a gift card for xrays & cleaning.. and that was 3 years ago. Dr. Afar has provided an implant, crowns, root canal, and many cleanings. He is gentle and kind in his approach to his patients. He has skills that many dentists lack today. He's taught dental students and he continues to offer continued education classes to his staff. I love his staff as they have the same caring spirit that Dr. Afar has. He'll offer suggestions but leaves that up to you. But listen to him... he's always right!
