Let me start with this, the food is great. I've enjoyed everything I've eaten here. The issue was the service. My friend (the birthday girl) called a few days before asking if they'd be able to accommodate 15 people. They confirmed that they could so she made a recommendation. Fast forward to the day of our reservation, all 15 of us are there on time to be sat, but they can't seat us yet because there are no available tables. Fine- it happens. However management and some of the servers acted like we were the problem. The manager treated us like we were bothering him by waiting patiently for our reservation. From the time we arrived to the time we got our food was 1.5 hours. They actually weren't able to seat us together. Instead, our group was split into two. This was the first time the person who'd made the reservation was informed that this would happen. She was also informed once arriving that there was a $15/person fee if you byo cake. Our server was fine for the most part. My aguachile dish was good. My friends enjoyed their food and drinks. The space is beautiful. But we were all rubbed the wrong way by the service.

So glad to have stumbled upon this place while walking through Bywater. This cozy spot has some of the best food and drinks I have tasted in New Orleans. The Adult's French Toast was phenomenal! And I will be thinking about it for days! And the Medicina Por Favor was superb! And service was excellent. Our server was super friendly, helpful and super attentive. I will definitely be making a trip back on my next visit!

Came here for weekday breakfast. Made a reservation but likely not needed for time/day. Interior is welcoming with nice tile painting. Bar is impressive too. Got the chilaquiles which were excellent with the refried beans, pork, half avocado and runny eggs. We also got the lemon ricotta pancakes which were excellent. The special was a soft shell crab eggs Benedict on a rye toast which was heavenly. Coffee was well made and refills galore. Also love the Alma mugs!

I have not been here for a year or so many cool changes. New menu I ordered the smoked rosemary Negroni And the softshell crab Benedict. It had good savory flavor. Was another good experience thanks. Definitely recommend this place again.

Even though we had a reservation, we did have to wait about 10-15min for a seat. It was a Sunday, so it was busy. The French toast was great and not overpowered by the taste of alcohol. It was warm and sweet, the lemon ricotta pancakes tasted great as well. They weren't too sweet and not one flavor took over the next. I really enjoyed them. The arroz com pollo was standard. Nothing too crazy. It was cooked perfectly. The puposas were fresh and a great snack. Perfect for an appetizer

Excellent service, our server was so nice and took the time to explain the menu and special house sauces. The food was amazing, perfectly seasoned. And we got pancakes to share that were so good with the syrup. I'll be back!

Not the best place not the friendliest bartender did love the Fritas Hondureñas (Homemade flour tortillas (2) fried with refried beans homemade cream, and queso fresco). Platano Maduro (Fried sweet plantains, refried pinto beans, homemade crema and queso fresco) was good the Michellelada on the other hand it was a Bloody Mary and when I told them they ignored me did not drink it they never offer me another drink the answer is that's the way they make it did not care about my experience. Please ask how they make it. It would Save you aggravation to spend your money in a place They dnt cate ah they dnt give you or Offer more coffee than the cup you get at the begging.

    Louisa toast with rotten crab

I am very sad to say that this is the second time I've been to Alma Café and this morning they served me rotten crab on my Louisa toast. I went there back in October and ordered the most expensive thing on the menu once again thinking it would be amazing and it was subpar so I thought I'd try them again today and when my plate came, it smelled like diseased fish. Very sad I wanted everything to be good because I know they have the potential but twice? The first time I paid $46 for the today I said no not again barf, barf, barf! I will never recommend them to my Airbnb guests. I would not want anyone to have the same experiences that I've had.

This food is literally so delicious and fresh it makes no sense! I'm obsessed! I dined outside, and the inside was medium sized and packed. They have a great drink non alcoholic drink selection as well. I cannot wait to go back for breakfast. This was 20/10 for me. The service was great as well! So many options on the menu I want to try

Delicious, unique flavors. The drinks are amazing too! We especially liked the peanut butter horchata drink! The artwork and vibes were great too!

Seriously one of the best meals I've had in months! We had the Camarones, Maduros & Pollo Chuco. Wish my stomach was bigger so I could have eaten more! Cute vibes, nice staff. 10/10 !

First off, that honey butta hot chicken sandwich is so delicious. The spice and sweet and the butta is so rich and leaves a long lasting impression. That is the bite you'll be thinking about and returning for. But don't sleep on the donuts either! Normally I'm not huge on donuts but that lil peanut butta cup donut with the whipped peanut mouse and chocolate ganache...yeah ima need that. It's perfectly balanced with the bitter chocolate ganache, and the light mouse. Obviously, after you're eating all this, you're gonna need something to wash it down. They have an excellent selection of coffee and teas, I enjoyed their chai latte, which wasn't too sweet for my pallet. After I thought I couldn't eat anymore, the chicory ice cream spoke to me so I had to answer. Stopping here made for a perfect day of indulgence than walking up and down magazine Street and shopping. The staff here is so nice too! They let us come hang out back here after we were done shopping and needed to rest for a bit. We checked into our nearby hotel a bit early in the day and was looking to hit the streets for a spot to get a chill/light breakfast, a coffee and maybe a cocktail. We found all the things at Luzianne Cafe. Whether you belly up to the bar or grab a table, both of which are first come first serve, you start at the counter where you order, pay and grab your table number. It appears that during busy times they allow you to sit first and order from the QR at your table, this is an assumption given the code to order at the table, but the sign at the entry directed folks to the counter to order before sitting. For breakfast, we got the breakfast biscuit which came with eggs, bacon and cheese, and sided it with grits. The breakfast sandwich was solid, eggs were a bit soft and grits were more mealy than we are used to, but I think that may be authenticity of the area more than anything. I opted for the three option omelet with onion, sausage and gouda plus a side of sausage links. The omelet, though odd sounding combination turned out to be solid. Maybe it was my options, but it was decently "one note" in flavor. I tossed a little hot sauce on and that helped. However, while the sausage links were not much to look at, they were tasty, with a nice snap to the casing and meaty inside. To go with our breakfast, I got a cold brew with a splash of almond milk while my partner embraced NOLA and started his day with a bourbon sour. Both of us enjoyed our choices! Service was friendly and helpful at the counter/bar. The food runner was nice and then another member, assuming the Manager, that stopped by to check on us mid meal. She was super friendly and nice. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and drinks at Luzianne. Minor things noted, mainly on the cook of the eggs, but nothing awful. It his the spot and checked the boxes!

We were a party of 3 adults and 2 children (one being only 2 years old), and because of that they changed our table type from a 4-top to a 5-top and made us wait an additional 30 minutes. Meanwhile, multiple tables became available that easily could have accommodated us, but the hostess was determined to keep telling us we had to wait. To make matters worse, there was open bench seating in the back where customers ordering to-go could sit. I offered to order food to-go so we could at least sit down and get started while waiting, and she told me if I did that they would remove our name from the waitlist because "you have to pick one or the other." No willingness to problem solve whatsoever. She repeatedly said she was "sorry," but her actions showed the opposite. I was simply trying to work together to find some reasonable solution instead of continuing to watch everyone else get seated while our family, including small children, kept waiting. Absolutely horrible customer service experience.
