We used them to cater a work function and it was SO worth it. The food was delicious, they were very responsive and right on time when we picked up the order. Since they don't have delivery we needed to use an Uber to do pick up but do NOT let that deter you from using them. Highly recommended. read more

This place seriously should be taken off the bar crawl. There's no room on the St Patty's Day pub crawl for bouncers on a power trip that can't tell a real ID from a fake one. My group of 23 year old friends could not believe the audacity of the bouncer to take my REAL license, refuse to give it back and tell me to find another place to go. No one should spend $70 on a pub crawl wristband just to get kicked out of one of the participating bars for no reason other than some shitty bouncer's need to feel in control. Not to mention the bar itself is highly overrated and not worth waiting in line for. Congratulations to this bar for perfecting the trifecta of shitty music shitty food and shitty service. read more

Tacos were very good but can't recommend eating here beyond that. Guacamole was good but bland and nachos weren't very good either. Drinks were overpriced and TERRIBLE. Margarita was one of the worst I've ever had and the sangria is NOT sangria. I'm not sure there was even wine in it. If you want a quick and decent taco and don't like mixed drinks then this is your place. Won't be returning. read more

I wasn't sure what to expect coming into this place especially in a touristy area where some places cater to boring taste buds. Alma cantina has fat and away exceeded my expectations. My wife is very picky and hard to please (as they are) but she was absolutely thrilled with her meal and drink selection. Chorizo torta and a spicy cucumber jalapeño marg hit the spot. My beer was cold and my enchiladas were hot and delicious, flavor packed and I couldn't have been more pleased with the service. They even went as far as to make a drink off menu for my wife and it was spot on to her liking with even giving her normal directions as to how she likes it. We went late Sunday night and there were no prices on the drink menu. The service was slow and the server offered inaccurate descriptions of portion sizes and menu items in general. Margaritas were subpar, but queso and salsa were good! Overall would not return, much much better places to dine at than this restaurant. We came here for a snack and a drink to cool down. We got pork belly nachos, and a pitcher of Paloma, and both were amazing. The owner also brought us a small plate of freshly made shrimp ceviche which was also awesome. The staff were very friendly, and food was great! Would def recommend! read more

We decided to try this place while visiting Boston. We discussed leaving as soon as we arrived because i don't believe they have air conditioning and it was 91 degrees in the evening. The waitress highly recommended we order the burritos. Worst burrito EVER! We also wanted a pitcher of margaritas and asked if they were available. They acknowledged they were available in strawberry, mango, pineapple. We received a very small pitcher filled mostly with ice. When we received the bill, we saw they charged us $53, which shocked us. When we dug deeper and researched we found a drink menu with the pricing which showed they offered regular margaritas at $45, which we would gladly had preferred if given the option. Also we ordered the nachos, which was basically a small pan with tortilla chips and with very little tomatoes and cheese sauce. Ridiculous price compared to every other restaurants nachos. Lastly we ordered another queso for the extra chips we ordered and she never brought it. I'm a huge foodie and had some delicious meals in Boston but my entire family agreed this may be one of the worst Mexican meals ever. Would never return. read more

One of the best Mexican restaurants I've been to in awhile! I'm a Mexican food snob and they beat expectations by far! I had chicken & carnitas tacos. Carnitas was so flavorful but chicken was good also. Definitely need to order the chips & salsa! I could've drank the salsa it was that good! Stopped in for drinks 4 of July weekend and was very pleased. Drinks where on point, right amount of alcohol and tastes. We order apps for the table and even for bar food every was well flavored. Also staff was very busy being a Saturday but constantly checking in on us. Price was somewhat high for Mexican but because of the location was actually a good deal. read more

I stumbled upon this place while on a weekend trip to Boston. To this day, it is one of the fondest memories I have of this amazing city. The margherita we're DELICIOUS and their burrito was HEAVENLY. Made in an original way I had never had before, every bite felt like a new adventure. Great food and service!! delish vegan options too. Tucked between several traditional taverns that were overrun with people, this newly opened Mexican cantina was appealing--quiet and low key. Me: avocado salad (without the cheese), could have been meal. Vegan chorizo tacos--yum--with really tasty rice and beans (no pork fat.) My husbear got the corn on the cob appetizer and fish tacos. Just returned from our trip to Boston. Alma Cantina was my favorite dining experience - so much so that we went there twice for dinner. The service can be slow when they are busy however, the server's friendliness and attentiveness is excellent. Food is delicious! They have their own version of strawberry margaritas - Strawberry con Fuego which are great! Great location with outside dining. Already miss the margarita! read more

best bar on union street by far, best staff and food/ drinks. everyone in the staff is amazing, josh keeva tayla and rueben are all always amazing and welcoming. couldn't find a better bar with better food or service around. will definitely be coming back read more
