I usually travel to LA from time to time and I was really lucky on Friday evening to get an appointment with Mateo ( hairstylist ) . They are all super nice and polite . While I was waiting had enough time to observe =0))) ,their stylist are great and very welcoming, make up artist was really good at what she does , every single lady w out make up were looking gorgeous after seeing lady ( make up artist ) . I love this place! It's located right on Camden in the heart of Beverly Hills. There's tons of parking all around the area and easy to get to. It's a cool rock and roll, easy going vibe with a fun and light atmosphere. They also have impeccable customer service and offer friendly greetings as you enter. But, by far, the best part about Alma is Sue Yi! She's a one of a kind colorist who totally nails it every time. I love her and her incredible work. I've know and worked with colorist Su for many years during my 35 years as a client of the master colorist, Louis Licari, who trained and mentored Su. She is very gifted. When Su moved to the newly opened Alma Salon, I was lucky enough to get my first cut with the founder and owner, Alex, (Alessandro Casalino), who is a true master cutter, and finally felt like there was someone in Los Angeles who understood New York and European haircutting. Not since the days of the great John Sahag in New York have I known such a skillful, expert cutter. Also great is Mateo Herreros, who has his own celebrity following. These two smart, polite, consummate talents came from years at Cristophe, and we are the better for it, because the salon is warm, welcoming, and very nice. I love that the place is named for the Spanish word soul. Alex chooses his luxury level artists carefully, and they all get along well, so its a nice place to be, without the ice cold, over the top vibe of most of the older, name places in Beverly Hills, each trying so hard to be cooler than the others, while really just feeling like factories. I originally came to the Alma Salon due to following my colorist/stylist Sabine! I would follow her anywhere to do my hair. I've been getting my hair cut and colored by her for over 18 years and she is fantastic! She is incredibly detailed and precise in her cuts and color. I frequently get asked if my hair color is natural and if it isn't, who does it. I'm a "natural" blonde due to her and I highly recommend her for both color and cut. Alma Salon is the icing on the cake as everyone is so nice and the Salon is beautiful and not too crowded or big which I like. read more
