This hotel seemed to have touches much classier than many of the hotels that are now part of the Wyndham family. There was a nice bar/ lounge where they also serve breakfast and a very large indoor pool. They also have a big deck outside (it was too stinking hot to use but it looked nice). Even a gift shop/ salon. The room was nice and obviously recently updated (the whole hotel appears to have been refreshed). The decor is nice and the extra sink outside the bathroom was nice. The major downside was the horrible water pressure in the shower. Is there a water shortage in northwest Illinois? This was worse than many hotels in California. Other than this issue the room was good especially at the price we paid. The breakfast was on par with other chains of this caliber though they did have real plates and silverware and the pancake machine! Would stay here again when in the area.

I…read morerooms stink and I honestly think they stink because this hotel allows dogs; not everyone takes care of their dog they way they should; it had been raining and there were 3 dogs outside where their owner allowed them to roll around in the wet grass and then brought their dogs back in the room with them; (so disgusting) and I've found dog hair in the bathroom, and who knows, it could be in the chair and/or the so called comforter. Dogs are not for hotels. 2. the comforter on the bed is hardly a comforter; extremely thin like a flat sheet. My husband turned the air off when we first arrived, because it was cold, left for a few hours and it was still freezing in the room. Turned the heat on just to get the chill out, but when we turned it on, there was a bad smell, so we shut that off and I froze all night. 3. No Busch light at the bar because apparently there were construction workers that had stayed for a week and a half and drank it all, then the manager/owner should onto the damn store and get some to replace until they can place another order with the distributor. 4. No biscuits and gravy on the weekend; and why can't there be bacon, my husband likes the biscuits and gravy, I don't, but we both like to have bacon with our breakfast.

One bright spot was the cheerful lady at the front desk in the morning. She explained that a part was replaced on the pool the day before and that it would not be open that morning. We were on the 3rd floor (top floor) and upon walking in, the carpeting was damp as if someone spilled something throughout the whole room and it smelled off. When we brought this to the attention of the staff, we were told it's been raining a lot recently... sure, but inside the hotel room?! They had windows open at the end of the hallway which may not be the best idea if this place is already prone to being damp... we also had a box on the table in the room which ended up with water damage on it when we packed up. The shower water pressure wasn't great but the bed was decent. The breakfast was okay and they had a variety of options, which we appreciated. However, at the end of the day, we didn't feel comfortable in our room and leaving anything on the floor (or even the table apparently). I never did receive an email and then when family arrives. Surprise they were told they had to pay because they don't accept payments over the phone and that the reservation was for 2 adults not 4 and they had to pay more. I called back to ask what had gone so wrong when I had clearly called to ensure all the information was accurate. They tell me that they do t take payments over the phone I explain that is not was I told also how is it my fault she made the mistake of only 2 adults when I said 4 adults. My credit card shows a charge of 123. My family was charged 246 dollars in person. When I asked to to speak to a manager as this is not my fault. He answered he was the DM and was rude by basically said he can refund and they can go elsewhere. I once again told him how was not fair as this was not our mistake but his staff I told him if there was anything that can be done to fix this once again he response was they can leave easy for him to say he was not on the road for 30 hours. Swallowed my anger and frustration as they needed to rest. So beware when you make reservations. No customer service at all.
