Me and my girlfriend came here for the first time and the food was well cook and tasted really good I recommend giving this place a try!!

We took a road trip to Knights Landing, where my 91-year-old father lived in his youth. When I searched for restaurants in Knight's Landing, this is the only one that showed up. They have a good variety of Hawaiian/Japanese food on their menu. They have plenty of parking. Since we had two dogs with us, we got plates to go and sat on the benches near the entrance to eat. I had the sweet chicken, cooked in a honey sauce, and it was very good! All plates come with rice, macaroni salad, and coleslaw. My daughter got the teriyaki chicken, and my husband had teriyaki beef. Both enjoyed their meals. If I ever happened back to the area, I would definitely return here! read more

We pass this place all the time and this was our first time stopping. We stopped primarily to see why they chose their name as it is not common to see a Samoan name used. We walked in to order take out and were greeted with a friendly smile and a readiness to take our order. My first question, being a Samoan man, was why they chose their name - they said they wanted to something that meant "love" but was not taken for a restaurant already. They came across "alofa" (Ah-LOH-fah) and stuck with it. We ordered a chicken plate for my Dad and I ordered the teriyaki salmon plate with an egg, mac salad and cole slaw. The cole slaw was nice and cold which was refreshing on that hot day. The mac salad was close to the way I appreciate Hawaiian mac, but there may have been a missing ingredient to tie it all in. The salmon was cooked well and had teriyaki but I got a few more packets because I like my fish to drown in that sauce. The egg and rice tied the whole plate up and made a DELICIOUS dinner. Although this restaurant is further out from bigger cities and towns, it should be getting more attention. They have a great menu, great service, and have the options of dining in or take out. If you are in the area and see this restaurant, do yourself a favor and stop by. To my fellow Pacificans, go in and support and enjoy a great meal. My family and I will be back! read more

Came in on a Thursday around 7:15pm while passing through on the way home. I've been wanting to come a. This restaurant has a nice homey feeling. There was only one table with with customers. Made an order to go of the firey chicken entree. The entree seemed smaller when taking it to go so a little disappointed with that. However the firey chicken is....GREAT!! Love The flavor and the heat. The coleslaw was good and had pieces of pineapple: ). The macaroni salad definitely Hawaiian style and with out the tuna that some places add. I'd say this is a hidden gem but it's far from hidden. Located on State Route 113, the main road through Knights Landing. Open only a few months, I've been lucky enough to stop in a few times as their hours are late. Totally sold on their Alofa Chicken Plate, I've had it twice just to much sure it wasn't a fluke. For me it's just the right amount of sweet and spicy, grilled to a tasty char. Served with steamed white rice, a yummy macaroni salad, and cole slaw. It's a must try. I've had their burger too, it was just ok. If you're in Knights Landing or passing through, Alofa is worth a stop. Their customer service is also tops as they will remember you when you return. read more

Hubby and I stopped for lunch while returning from a RV trip, so the first point to note is that the parking lot is nice and large. The dining area is inviting and super clean. Restroom also clean, although the sink has significant cosmetic defects. We ordered a two item plate to share as we weren't hungry enough to each have our own. We chose chicken teriyaki and the sweet and spicy chicken. We enjoyed both, but if you can take a bit of heat, I'd give the nod to the sweet and spicy chicken. Good rice and macaroni salad to accompany; coleslaw as well, but for me, this was a weak point. Cabbage too thickly sliced and had a bit of a bitter edge. Service very friendly and efficient. We don't live in knights landing, but decided to stop at the restaurant we've been eyeballing for a while. The service was top tier, she was extremely accommodating. The chicken was super crispy and juicy, while still being full of flavor. My kids don't eat out well(they love home cooked meals) and they cleaned their plates here. I was so excited passing through this little town because we were hungry and food sounded great. Seems like everything was basically frozen and fried to order. The restaurant itself was dirty and I just did not care for the food at all. The lady who took my order was super rude. I would stick to eating at other teriyaki places in the area but this is not the one. Ordered the popcorn chicken with rice. The rice was extremely sticky and overcooked. The chicken was breaded way too heavily. I had to ask for sauce on the side in case they wanted to drown the food in it which I do not like. I guess the price is what you pay for. I don't live in knights landing but stopped by because my friend lives there and we decided to go here to grab lunch. The waitress was very sweet and nice. However, we were told our food would only take 20-25 minutes and we were there for 45-50 minutes. We ordered spring rolls which is supposed to have 4 per order and we didn't get 4. We also ordered spam musubi which the rice is super soggy and mushy which means it was made with way too much water. The last things we ordered was the spicy pork teriyaki plate, sesame chicken noodle plate and a glazed sweet chicken plate. The only thing good about those plates were the protein (the chicken and pork) the rice for these plates were the same as the musubi and the noodles were rubbery. read more

Had the husband pick up some items during their grand opening. The teriyaki beef was just right but the macaroni salad lacked some seasoning. My husband got the sweet & spicy chicken plate and loved all of it, the sauce was delicious. We also ordered musubi, popcorn chicken & egg rolls. The egg rolls are made in house and we're so good, and the sweet & sour sauce is the best I've had in a while. Overall a pretty good experience. I'm not sure if their popcorn chicken is supposed to have sauce over it, but if you're ordering it for your kids make sure to say no sauce.. my kids weren't a fan of the sauce (they like their stuff plain). read more

I grew up eating Hawaiian food and this was not it. I ordered a combo plate to sample a few of their main dishes and I was not impressed. The chicken katsu was extremely over cooked. The breading was way too thick with little chicken giving it a very hard bite that was extremely dry. The teriyaki chicken was also concerning. The chicken texture was extremely dense, similar to biting into a brownie rather than eating chicken with stringy muscle fibers. The teriyaki beef was way too thin and soaked in teriyaki sauce. It felt as if I was eating lunch meat soaked in terriyaki sauce. The macaroni salad had no flavor at all, like eating uncooked noodles. Additionally, the meal left my lips with a bad tingling sensation akin to being dehydrated and gave me a bad case of irritable bowels. Needless to say I won't be returning. Also, The name is misleading as Alofa is a Samoan word, not Hawaiian and the food was neither Hawaiian or Samoan. Steer clear of this place!!!! read more

Yes I tried it Alofa Teriyakkki .. I'm not going to recommend this place if I don't like it, the food was absolutely terrible. The teriyaki chicken was to dry seemed like they just threw xtra sauce on top of the chicken to make it look juicy and my noodles were to old felt like I was chewing rubber. front young lady who took my order was really friendly but over all it' was a first & last time going to this place.. unfortunately unsatisfied about this restaurant my money of 4 plates went down the drain .
