We pass this place all the time and this was our first time stopping. We stopped primarily to see why they chose their name as it is not common to see a Samoan name used. We walked in to order take out and were greeted with a friendly smile and a readiness to take our order. My first question, being a Samoan man, was why they chose their name - they said they wanted to something that meant "love" but was not taken for a restaurant already. They came across "alofa" (Ah-LOH-fah) and stuck with it. We ordered a chicken plate for my Dad and I ordered the teriyaki salmon plate with an egg, mac salad and cole slaw. The cole slaw was nice and cold which was refreshing on that hot day. The mac salad was close to the way I appreciate Hawaiian mac, but there may have been a missing ingredient to tie it all in. The salmon was cooked well and had teriyaki but I got a few more packets because I like my fish to drown in that sauce. The egg and rice tied the whole plate up and made a DELICIOUS dinner. Although this restaurant is further out from bigger cities and towns, it should be getting more attention. They have a great menu, great service, and have the options of dining in or take out. If you are in the area and see this restaurant, do yourself a favor and stop by. To my fellow Pacificans, go in and support and enjoy a great meal. My family and I will be back!

Came in on a Thursday around 7:15pm while passing through on the way home. I've been wanting to come a. This restaurant has a nice homey feeling. There was only one table with with customers. Made an order to go of the firey chicken entree. The entree seemed smaller when taking it to go so a little disappointed with that. However the firey chicken is....GREAT!! Love The flavor and the heat. The coleslaw was good and had pieces of pineapple: ). The macaroni salad definitely Hawaiian style and with out the tuna that some places add. The server was super nice.

I'd say this is a hidden gem but it's far from hidden. Located on State Route 113, the main road through Knights Landing. Open only a few months, I've been lucky enough to stop in a few times as their hours are late. Totally sold on their Alofa Chicken Plate, I've had it twice just to much sure it wasn't a fluke. For me it's just the right amount of sweet and spicy, grilled to a tasty char. Served with steamed white rice, a yummy macaroni salad, and cole slaw. It's a must try. I've had their burger too, it was just ok. If you're in Knights Landing or passing through, Alofa is worth a stop. Their customer service is also tops as they will remember you when you return.

Two item plate: chicken teriyaki (left), sweet and spicy chicken (right)

Hubby and I stopped for lunch while returning from a RV trip, so the first point to note is that the parking lot is nice and large. The dining area is inviting and super clean. Restroom also clean, although the sink has significant cosmetic defects. We ordered a two item plate to share as we weren't hungry enough to each have our own. We chose chicken teriyaki and the sweet and spicy chicken. We enjoyed both, but if you can take a bit of heat, I'd give the nod to the sweet and spicy chicken. Good rice and macaroni salad to accompany; coleslaw as well, but for me, this was a weak point. Cabbage too thickly sliced and had a bit of a bitter edge. Service very friendly and efficient. We would definitely come back.

It's a nice little place, not too many tables or booths, plus it also has counter space, as well as a few outdoor tables. Pictures, signs, and knickknacks adorn the walls. The menu is decent sized. I decided to go with the "kitchen sink omelette." ham, bacon, sausage, mushrooms, onions, tomatoes, it even had green bell pepper. Normally, I don't care for green bell pepper, but everything in the omelette was chopped up really fine, and so it didn't bother me. I asked for fruit instead of potatoes, and she told me all they had was canned peaches. I like canned peaches, so, That was OK with me. I also asked for coffee, but they said they didn't have any anymore because they were closing soon. They were open for another 45 minutes, they were still taking in customers, including people arriving after me , yet they decided to stop serving coffee? OK...... The omelette was pretty good. They were generous with the fillings, and everything played well with each other. The one thing I didn't care about the omelette was the fact that it was made with American cheese. I love American cheese on a burger, but in an omelette, it just doesn't do it for me. To me, in an omelette, American cheese, kind of overtakes the flavor of everything, including the delicate flavor of the eggs. It was OK, I should've asked what type of cheese they used. Overall, the meal was good, and the price was reasonable. I would stop by again. Thanks.

I chose to have the sandwich remade with bacon and they then proceed to tell me they have no more English muffins to do that. So, we just added the bacon to the premade breakfast sandwich. To top it off, I had ordered an iced tea and when I went back in to ask, if I could get a refill, they said sure, as long as you pay again as we charge full price for refills!!! Who in the hell charges $3-4 dollars for every refill of iced tea? Not that I would be coming back here because I am simply passing through town, but based on this experience, even if I lived in the area, I would never come back to this place. By the way, it was a one star experience, but I gave two stars for the outdoor patio as it is an enjoyable place to sit and dine if you can actually get what you ordered.

It was early, around 4:00 p.m., and there were only two people dining inside. They agreed and eventually placed two tables together indoors. My thought was, why was this not offered from the beginning, especially given the heat and how empty the restaurant was? The ambiance was great, but unfortunately, the food was not. I ordered a salad with chicken. The salad was very skimpy, with only two thin slices of apple, two small orange slices, very little feta, and mostly lettuce. The chicken portion was extremely small and was served separately on a plate rather than sliced and placed on the salad as ordered. The other dishes were also small and underwhelming. The burger and fries were nothing special, and the spaghetti was plain and lacked flavor. If you are looking for great ambiance, this may be a nice place to visit. But if you are looking for great food, you may want to consider other options. For a great burger, I would recommend Buckhorn instead. It costs less and is much better.
