Eddie and Jill are great owners that care about their employees and customers. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We are regulars so I am a little biased, but I've brought friends here and we've had some good nights here.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I will always recommend the gyros and the king fu ham if you are looking for something tasty. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The Nighthawk is a great place to be after a long day especially if you work or live in the downtown/chinatown area so I'd recommend giving them a try.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

    Nighthawk Beer Selection

Walked in just after 1p. There was two people at one end of the bar and another several chairs down. The guy sitting alone turned out to be the bartender. I asked what was on tap an he replied they didn't have anything on tap and gestured to the back of the bar. I looked and there's the selection of beers. Which was kind of impressive. I ordered my beer and asked if the kitchen was open. Bartender responded yes and left it at that. Didn't ask of I wanted a menu or even if I knew what I wanted to order. So I sat quietly finishing my beer and left. Don't think I'll be back here again. Nor will I recommend anyone to try this place.

First time here and I must say I was impressed. Ordered the Steak Quesadilla with a side of fries. This was enough for two people. It was as cheesy and was stuffed with plenty of steak served with a custom hot sauce on the side. It was delicious. The fries were hit and crispy. This along side my favorite bottle of beer really hit the spot.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Great place to chill after work with a family.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have arcade games for kids and a good food menu.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Newest addition is tacos ,nachos and Mexican food which is tasty . Try the chicken wings. Drinks reasonably priced .

It's always a good time at The Nighthawk. Stopped in the other day, my wife and I played a game of cribbage. The food is always good, the beer is cold and Eddy is a congenial host. Thanks for the hat, brother.

Went into Nighthawk this evening, while Everyone sitting at the bar looked at us as wel walked in including the bartender Mia. As we sat down she glanced over at us and proceeded to drink her drink, with no desire to assist us! I stood and went to the bar and asked do we need to come up here and order? With an attitude she answered ahh yeah it's only me here, I respond by saying well that's why I'm asking, how am I supposed to know you're the only one here!! With all the people sitting at the bar staring at us I turn around and tell her you know what, never mind! One of the customers mumbled something as we are walking out the door!' [[HIGHLIGHT]]Service is shitty there, the bar smells of body order and the bartender Mia has an attitude that is just as the bar smells!![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] How are they still open?

[[HIGHLIGHT]]A divey dive bar of epic proportions![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Went here with my guy for St. Patrick's Day shenanigans and it did not disappoint! Service was great (those ladies were hustlin''!). Burgers were JUICY and dripping down my arms (yasssss!). I would definitely swing by again.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Chill place to have a cocktail and some food.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The menu has something for probably everyone. We had the KungFu Plate. Deep fried Pork Belly with a spicy Asian style sauce. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They also have free classic video games to entertain the kids if need be.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

A co-worker and I stopped in for lunch ... we wanted a libation and to sample some of the other items on the menu. This time, we tried the gyros sandwich and the hamburger steak plate. The gyros was hearty, tasty and very filling. I thought I'd be hungry when it was delivered because it looked small ... It wasn't. Lots of meat, veggies and tzatziki sauce. Yummy! The hamburger steak plate was interesting ... a mound of rice, a hamburger patty, grilled onions and gravy ... So far, normal. Now, add a cut up hotdog and a container of pickles. Hmmm, what have we here? If I had ordered this, I would have asked for French fries in place of the rice. The real value at Nighthawk are the drinks ... $7 for a Bombay Sapphire gin & tonic or a Jameson on the rocks. The same drinks are twice the price at a nearby bar & grill. We had more than one .... Service is great; the owner is friendly and accommodating. Thank you!

    Carnitas & carne asada tacos

I was craving some tacos this evening and encore saloon was the first place that came to mind but sadly another (Italian/Asian fusion) restaurant/bar took over the space. So we went to nighthawk instead. It's nice to see that they're open until midnight this evening on a weekday. I do enjoy the ambiance-- it may get loud due to the surround sound system but i personally like it and i enjoy singing out loud to the music even though no one could hear me lol. Owner was cool, working the bar as usual. Although, i only came here for one crave which were tacos. I enjoyed the carne asada and carnitas tacos! Kind of wish they were bigger ':D for $3-4 each. The wait time just to order our food was unnecessarily longer than expected. I understand that uncle is working the bar but what happened to "I'll be right back?" Or where are the rest of your staff to help outside of the kitchen? If it's just him, then kudos but there's an opportunity to improve on time management. Waited about 15-20 minutes just to get him to come to the table and memorize what we verbally ordered. As we waited for another 15-20 minutes for the food to come out (it was only 4 small tacos and 1 burrito...), thankfully there was some tv entertainment that distracted us in the meantime. Despite all of the others times that I've visited nighthawk, I've never experienced this kind of service until today. I did not feel as valued as the customers who sat at the high top bar. He catered to them more than the customers who simply just wanted to order food. Even though i did not feel like ordering a drink tonight, I'm a customer too. I'm just here for the food. The tacos were overall simply good. I wish their spicy sauce was a little more spicier but that's ok. The tacos are the average price that you can pay anywhere else for tacos but there's no special wow factor to these ones. Also i don't think if it's just the table or the table material but it felt like our table was not cleaned before getting seated.

Five star service from a friendly team. Felt like we were walking into cheers because the bartender knew my husband from a previous visit at least a month prior. We did not eat any food as we were waiting for a dinner reservation elsewhere but we did see some super fast service take place and good communication between the staff. The theme here is reminiscent of the night hawk painting as the block is very dark and lonely but the atmosphere is not. It felt like a chill place to have a drink and converse with new folks. The bartender made a mean Mai tai which I very much enjoyed. Had a good balance of all the right flavors with a good bit of lime. We will be back!

Great bar! Always a good time here. Been here a few times now, we love the food and Eddie ! I've these items: Chicago dog - don't ask for ketchup!! Cheese curds - such a good pupu Kung fu ham - so delicious and the spicy sauce is perfect. Sometimes they run out of rice but they'll sub fries instead. Gyro - really good, better than what I expected Wings- pretty standard

It wasn't overly crowded or loud, making it easy to have a conversation and actually enjoy the experience. The cocktails were well-balanced, creative, and clearly made with care. This is the kind of place that's perfect for a date night, catching up with friends, or simply unwinding after a long week. It feels like one of those hidden gems that locals hope stays under the radar, but is too good not to share. If you're looking for something unique and a little different from the usual nightlife options, I highly recommend checking it out. I'll definitely be back.

We started our vacation with dinner at the Hideout, and upon entering you could immediately hear live music. We received a warm welcome, and brought over to our booth where our server Kai was quick to greet us. We ordered cocktails (I don't remember the name of mine. It's something spritz, and my husband tried the banana bread old fashioned) and we shared the appetizer platter (brussel sprouts with pork belly, kalua pork egg rolls, poke tacos, and edamame)to share. We also ordered the garlic shrimp dumplings. Everything was super tasty. Lots of other items on the menu that I want to try during another visit to the island.

Stressful from the start…read more I called to inquire about parking a week prior to my rsv and was told they were sold out for the night. I mentioned that it was just a general question and i wasn't coming that night. They informed me that it's validated for two hours and it's first come first serve. After the 2 hours its $14 an hour. Getting into the valet area was stressful enough as there was a car parked right before you turn and pedestrians that walk back and forth from their main driveway entrance. I also had to wait for valet for a bit too as there was 2 other cars in front of me and probably only 2 valet on duty trying to move cars forward. Reservations can be made on open table, but there was really no point to doing that since it's open seating during happy hour times. We ended up just picking a table that was in the shade, and noticed they only have their menu by QR code which is kinda annoying. The server was pretty nice tho and he brought my dog some water mid way. Their happy hour runs from 2-6 and the menu is slightly less expensive. The food was kind of standard hotel type of food and nothing really stood out. Otherwise the vibes at the restaurant was nice and i do like that they allow dogs to join you. it seems like they have live music after a certain time. I was even more annoyed and stressed with the valet when i went to pick up my car. They literally just handed me my keys. My car was parked along the wall probably 20 steps away, but they could have at least taken out my car cause it was so hard to get out, but i guess it's nice they trust that i wont bang the car in front of back of me i guess even tho im a pretty terrible parker. at the time they didn't look as busy as when i first arrived, so i dont know why they couldn't have just done the bare minimum with just pulling out my car from the stall.

Located in a hotel called The Romer on Nāhua Street in Waikiki off of Kuhio (closer to Ala Wai Canal) it is a smallish unpretentious looking building on Diamond Head side of Nahua. They have valet stand in front and validate parking for up to 3 hours. The valet wasn't very friendly when we walked towards him and usually they hold the door open but this one did not. We realize he's probably not part of Lei Stand staff but it doesn't make a good first impression. Walk into the lobby and directly to your left is the Lei Stand. It is brightly neon but dark if that makes sense, and very small. If you're a fan of when it used to be on Bethel St downtown then you'll be disappointed with this venue. No view to be had, dark drapes cover the windows (we were there at 6:00 pm) and no cute little lanai or garden. Tiny tables either high tops or rounds - maybe 10 total and a small bar. There was one tiny corner booth. The lost star was for this set up but also another lost star for NO MUSIC. Music is such an important part of a place especially a bar so we were disappointed and appalled there was only silence. Bartender said the music was "broken" so we turned on our phones to get something on our table. Then two girls brought in something to light the place up with some tunes so that helped. The final lost star was it is called The Lei Stand yet there wasn't a lei stand inside the place. When we asked the bartender where it was he didn't even know what a lei was. Then we explained to him and he said it is in the hotel lobby but you have to go to front desk to let them know you wish to purchase one. Another disappointment. Thank goodness I bought her a lei from downtown in case they didn't have any. The good stars ... Star 1 goes to the drink menu and how delicious they tasted. "Rub up on my belly" was beautifully prepared and so delicious I had to have another one lol I mean how could I refuse a second guava jam infused Tito's vodka??? Bartender prepared with cute little garnish and an ice stick to keep it cold! He was very nice and took good care of us. My friend opted for the "Clifton's Curse" - yes there's a back story to this drink- and enjoyed the cognac, absinthe, bitters and sherry concoction! Ono! Star 2 goes to the food or "nibbles" as they call it. Taro chips and crack dip were yum and a nice handful of chips not too much and not too little. Hurricane fries - to die for! Plenty of furikake, parmigiano reggiano and spicy aioli. The girls who brought our food were very nice and made sure we had what we needed to enjoy, bringing us waters too. They also had a smash burger for $25 but we had dinner rez later so didn't want to indulge but it looked good. It might be cute if you wanted to do a private party here and I noticed a room across with a beautiful large table set up for a private dinner - not sure if part of hotel or bar.
