I was looking for a backyard shed to store my stuff since storage units are so pricey. This business stood out to me because when I had messaged Rory in the past about a project he gave me good information and quotes regarding the project. Some plans fell through on our end and he was super understanding and didn't pressure us at all, which is why I wanted to reach out again to him when it was time for another project. I wanted a shed and he gave me quotes for a custom built shed and a store bought shed install and gave me advice about which option would be better for my budget. I bought a shed kit from Lowe's and his guys came out the next day to install. I asked if they could build shelves inside and they did an amazing job! We reached out to Aloha Handyman and a few others on Yelp for quotes to assemble and install our gazebo. Rory from Aloha responded quickly with his quote and availability. He wasn't the cheapest quote we received but he was super nice, answered all my questions and had good reviews. Coincidentally he had just installed a similar gazebo last week and I felt he could do the job well. He and his guys came a couple days later and knocked it out in a day! Actually it was a long 12 hour day -they finished after sun down with minimal light. It was a tedious project with a bunch of heavy parts and screws etc! Also I didn't know we needed additional screws to mount the posts in the concrete... Rory sent his guys across the street to Home Depot to pick up to complete the project. Overall we are super happy with our new gazebo and appreciate Rory and Aloha Handyman's hard work!! We will def reach out to them with future projects and highly recommend to everyone that is looking for a handyman! read more

I requested a quote on Tuesday for a drywall repair and repainting my rusted storm screen door. Job was started on Thursday and finalized Friday afternoon. Rory J., the owner, agreed to do my drywall repair of about 30 sq ft at $500 to do just mudding, texturing, and painting. To make the long story short, RETHINK TO USE THIS BUSINESS UNLESS MY EXPERIENCE BELOW IS ACCEPTABLE TO YOU!!! Early morning of the scheduled first day, a handyman called and demanded to reschedule due to some personal issues. I did not want to waste another day of my time to reschedule, so I begged him to do the job even in the late afternoon. So, he showed up around 2:30 pm, and he said he cannot do the job unless I agreed to pay him additional $200 in cash. Although it was not a fair deal, I agreed to avoid another delay. It took him less than two hours to do the mudding. Due to rain, however, it was not until several days later when he showed up again to finish the job of taping, sanding, texturing, and paining. In a little over two hours, he said the job was done and required payment. I inspected but the whole room was dust- covered because he did not tape off the work area to prevent dust from spreading all over the room and the hallway; the drywall surface was not smooth due to poor sanding job; the texture was different from the existing texture; and the painting details were not acceptable due to poor making and workmanship (see photos). I told him that the issues need to be fixed and until then the job is not complete, and thus no payment. Nevertheless, he refused to fix the issues and demanded payment claiming that the job cannot be perfect. At that point, I called Rory J., the owner, with several photos of the drywall condition. Rory agreed and promised that the handyman will be back to fix the repair and make me whole and happy. Then Rory called the handyman, who took off immediately after the phone conversation with the owner, vandalizing my driveway with the left-over paint (see photo). I send a photo of the vandalized driveway to Rory. Ever since Rory J., the owner, blocked my phone calls without any explanation. HIRING THIS BUSINESS MAY BE VERY RISKY TO YOU. read more
