I called Ritchie to remove and replace a defective kitchen sink facuet and to reattach the overhead microwave door. We discussed the project and set a date and time for him to do the project. He called about an hour before the appointment to be sure that I still needed his services and to advise that would be there in about an hour....right on time. He reviewed the project and got to work. First to repair the microwave door. I could figure out how to remove the door so as to get to the loose handle Ritchie quickly removed the door and removed the plastic surround and exposed the missing (lose screw rattling around inside the door). A few moments later, the door handle was completely fixed and back in operation. Just like new!! On to the faucet. What looked and seemed like a standard remove/replace turned out to be a tough one. Over the years the calcium deposit in the water "welded" itself to the screw and the plastic retaining nut. No matter how hard he turned it or banged it with a hammer would it release. He told a drill and drilled a hole in the plastic retainer then fabricated a makeshift very small saw to saw the retainer off the screw which finally allowed Ritchie to remove the faucet! At that point he discovered that the water lines coming from the house water were a different size than the water lines provided with the new faucet. Off to the hardware store he went to get the correct adapters do finish the job. It was not a easy task and a lot of others might have complained about all the extra work needed than originally thought! Not Ritchie,,,he willingly kept at it until the job was complete and I was happy. I will not hesitate to use Aloha Handyman for any odd jobs that I might have in the future. So I've been meaning to replace the back door of my house for years. Last month someone tried to break into the house and that was the last straw. i couldn't really afford to hire a general contractor, so I decided to try a handyman. I found Ritchie here on Yelp and decided to give him a try. Best decision I could have made. I called him and sent him some pictures (to let him see exactly what a mess of a door I had), gave me a good estimate and we set it up. I ordered the door I wanted from Home Depot and Ritchie took over from there. As I suspected, he ran into some problems. The opening and walls aren't level (what house is perfectly level in California right? Besides a new one of course). Ritchie figured out an easy solution to what could of been a bad problem. He explained to me exactly what he was going to do and I really appreciated that he did that. He went out of his way to accommodate my schedule (had to be on a weekend). He just wrapped up the job and it looks great. I highly recommend Ritchie and look forward to having him do some more jobs in the future. P.S.
