BBQ +RICE is one of my most favorite and frequently visited restaurant in Cypress. This was the first place I ordered food from when I moved recently. It was such a god send when I was utterly exhausted from packing/unpacking all day and forgot to eat!! I also just wanted a high protein meal without the fuss, the wait, and having to venture far. The order was placed via DoorDash 30 minutes before their closing time and the people there couldn't have been more gracious and kind about it. It was truly one of those love at first bite type of things. I have eaten from there nearly every single day since. The service here has been phenomenally consistent. I can place an order to-go via phone, in-person, via DoorDash, or from their website. My go-to dish here is the spicy mayo chicken bowl. The online order platforms does not give me the option to skip rice, or make it salad only. So, I usually call-in or place the order in-person. I don't mind doing either because the service is friendly, and wait times are virtually nonexistent. As in I can place an order while I'm already around the corner and it will be ready when I trot in. Unbelievable and incredible!! And the food quality itself has been very very consistent as well. That's not always easy to do especially when the items require battering the chicken or frying it at some point. The chicken pieces are always very tender, well seasoned, and flavorful. I love it! The crunchy chicken gives a nice contrast to the well seasoned salad greens. It gives steady energy and appetite control for the rest of the day. I love the lack of bloating and / or me feeling sluggish afterwards. Oh, and their dumplings are also a must try item as are their kimchi!! Some things I do wish they offered are the options to add avocados, and options to make certain items no rice/ salad only on the menu. I love that they offer the double protein options. It would be also be nice if they offered a la carte menu for things like spicy mayo chicken, bulgogi, etc. And perhaps a bigger portion of their mandu too!! I love them very much and I wish they came in a family pack of 8-10!! Hell I can eat a whole dozen by myself!!! Lastly, the parking here is free and the store offers a reserved spot in front of the entrance. Parking can be a challenge here at times and many spots are rather tight. Something to keep in mind. The restaurant inside also has spaces to sit down and chow down the delicious meal right away. It's clean and brightly lit. I'm looking forward to returning again and wouldn't hesitate to wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone I know. This is such a neighborhood gem and I hope they are around for a very long time.

I'm trying so hard right now to save half of this bowl for later today but I don't think it's gonna happen. This is SO good : P I placed my Bulgogi beef with a fried egg order for pick online for lunch and had zero wait when I got there. I was greeted with a smile! The restaurant was packed and bustling with energy. I absolutely loved my bowl. That sweet pickle on the side really set it off. I will be back for sure!

I really was expecting to love the food here based on the 4.9 but the flavor was off. I ordered the black pepper chicken bowl. Value = 5 Flavor = 3 Presentation = 5 Service = 5 Freshness = 5 Maybe because black pepper chicken is more of a Chinese dish I was expecting that. The pickles in it threw me off in a bad way. Also there's a strong flavor coming through. Maybe 5 spice? Too strong. But maybe it is just me since everyone seems to like this food at 4.9.

Wow! I was blown away with the prices and the portions of this restaurant! I ordered the Wok Fried Tofu bowl and it was so delicious. There are cashews in this bowl which adds flavor to the dish. The cucumber prickles were so good even a non prickles fanatic liked them! However, the kimchi was not the best. You can order online and pick up if you don't want to wait at the restaurant. The parking lot is shared with other businesses but they have a reserved parking spot. I will be back to try the spicy chicken!

Delicious AND a good value! I've pretty much all the different proteins at this point, and I can honestly say you can't go wrong with any of them. The portion sizes are surprisingly generous for the $12 price point. If you want that extra protein like I do, adding an egg is an extra $2. You can also order an extra portion of meat, but I forgot how much that was. They have a side of kimchi available for purchase too. I believe it's like $4. It tastes pretty good too! The guy at the cash register is friendly and quick. Nice to see a familiar face each time I come there too! The place is pretty small, and so is the parking lot. So keep that in mind. But, there is a neighborhood right next to it that you can park at.

Second time here, during the lunch hour. Quick service, fun music. Fast service and large portions. I think this is very nutrient dense and good price at $11

New spot that opened up serving Korean BBQ rice bowls. The parking lot has pretty small spaces, so it can be trick to get in and out of the lot. However, they do have a could of designated BBQ + Rice spots, so that part is nice! The menu is pretty straightforward. The offer seven different rice bowls, along with side add on/side items. I got the Bulgogi Bowl with bulgogi beef, onion, cabbage, carrot, shiitake mushroom, green onion, red cabbage, pickles, and sesame seeds. The bulgogi was tasty, but I did feel like there could have been a little more sauce. I also tried some of the Black Pepper Chicken Bowl. The toppings in this bowl are a little different. It has chicken, onion, cabbage, bok choy, bell pepper, green onion, cucumber, pickles, and sesame seeds. The sauce on this one seemed a little thinner so it coated the rice well and also seemed a little more abundant. Overall, this bowl was more flavorful, and the pepper flavor really comes through. All of the portion sizes are pretty big! They are also reasonably priced! I got a side of kimchi, and there kimchi is pretty good! I also got a side of their pickles, but the flavor wasn't what I had expected. I through they would taste more like the Korean pickled cucumbers, but they tasted more like American pickles. I would order everything else again with the exception of the pickles.

Run over here and try it out! It's become a new favorite! The person working is always happy and helpful. The store is exceptionally clean with a few tables to sit and eat. My favorite item is the bulgogi bowl. The meat is so good! I always add an egg as a tasty addition. My husband loves the black pepper chicken bowl. I've also tried the spicy mayo chicken bowl, which was good but way too spicy for me. The parking lot gets pretty busy at night, so don't be alarmed when you arrive.

Parking: rather painful especially when it's busy. But it's a parking lot shared with other businesses. The spots are also relatively small. Uh, I've never ate Korean that had this much value, outside of ayce obviously. For the price you pay, you are getting a ridiculous amount of food, and I mean ridiculous. It's also cooked well and made fresh. I dug into that bowl and for the first time I felt like maybe I couldn't finish all of it. I did finish it obviously cause it was really good, but I never felt like I had enough. Usually Korean food a la carte makes you feel unsatisfied. Although the flavour wasn't the best I've ever eaten, it was still really delicious. Tofu was insane. I really liked the texture and flavour of the tofu. I'm not a fan of "soft" undercooked tofu, but I also don't like burnt tofu and this place had it smack dab in the middle. Perfection. If I had to complain about one thing about the restaurant itself, it would be that the space is too small! But that's not their fault. I really wish I had one closer to me sigh. It's a mission to drive down and get this kind of value but I do think about it everytime I'm thinking about having Korean food. Owner is super nice and enthusiastic.

It was so delicious, I got the spicy mayo chicken bowl. It was the perfect amount of spice and the chicken was so juicy . The fried chicken dumplings were equally delicious. I will definitely come back

    Wok-Fried Tofu

First time visitor Located next to Tao ramen (replaced the flame broiler) Parking is really tight as spots are smaller so just a heads up with parking Few tables to sit along with some counter seating facing the window, clean and overall functional in space. Did the ordering online for pick up. User friendly on ChowNow but there was .99 service fee and appears this location may have its own app but was unable to find it just yet, would suggest comparing prices too as it seem to align with the location then upon review again, prices show higher Also a rewards of getting 10% off after purchasing ten times. Nonetheless, order was ready right on time, opted for the wok tofu and house made kimchi. Package neatly. For under $15 after everything, what a steal! And tasty too! Easily shareable, little hint of heat but not to burn your tongue off, the kimchi was a little vinegary but still had a great crunch and spice to it that was not overwhelming. And the amount received was unexpected! The tofu bowl big fan as it had eggplant bok choy onion cashews tofu sweet pickled cucumbers and green onion over lot of soft fluffy rice. Many ingredients I love together so a vegetarian delight I think so but will try the meat. =) Ate both together and the crunch of acidity of the kimchi balance the heat and flavors of the tofu and veggies. I would certainly come back for this continuously and to try their other bowls. It seems to be efficient reasonable in price and friendly upon arrival. What a tasty hidden delight!

I'd never been there before, so this review is all about first impressions. As we approached, the sign caught my attention: "Under New Ownership." Outside, an employee sat scrolling on his phone. It was a quiet Sunday around 3 PM, and we were the only patrons in sight. Checking Yelp beforehand had been a bit of a letdown, as their menu featured items they no longer offer. No links were available either. We ordered half a pound of pulled pork, half a pound of brisket, and four pieces of cornbread--all priced reasonably. Their tap selection turned out to be decent. The Cali Squeeze Blood Orange was a standout, and they also seemed to carry Firestone Walker products, including 805. The staff were friendly and responsive, which was refreshing. While the brisket had cooled by the time we got home, it was still tender and flavorful--just like the pulled pork. The real surprise? The chimichurri that accompanied the brisket--an unexpected and delightful touch. Overall, I'd rate the experience as average. While it's clear they've got potential, a bit more effort could turn Wholly Smokes into a go-to spot. Leaning in on those small details would really elevate the experience.

But since I moved out of LA, it's so inconvenient to get to. Enter Kyung Bok Kung -- what a find. I can get a fine dining korean bbq experience conveniently. I've been here a number of times, and this review reflects the few times I've been there. It's become the goto spot to take people from out of town who are visiting and want a Kbbq experience. Things I immediately noticed - lots of white and grey teslas in the parking lot during lunch - you know what that means? Golf Koreans. Yup. Go inside and you'll see incredibly well dressed older retired people with their buddies chatting up in private cubicles. Beautiful decor. It's like the background setting of a korean drama where there's a close-up of the guy and the girl - they're about to say something really serious to each other. The camera does a wide angle shot of them - and this is the restaurant it's shot in. Price points - this place isn't cheap, but they have incredibly good deals on a weekday lunch (cold noodles and meat set). Their dinner set course meals are priced around what you would expect from a quality steak house. This place is not as pricey as AB steak or Cote, but you're getting just as quality. Food - I've had the lunch set meals, the bbq grilled course, and ordered à la carte. One thing is for sure - they don't miss. I never had a 9 budda plate until I came here, but apparently it's like a thing that royals ate during the monarchy days. It was like a korean vegetarian taco. Very intricate (and slightly annoying) to put together but delicious - and a great test of your chopstick skills. Their braised beef (galbijjim) from their lunch set intersects savory, sweet, and tenderness in a way that only Korean grandmas do. I'm not a huge fan of Wagyu beef (just too rich and can never feel after eating it), but I have never felt that way coming out of here. Go here at night if you want to impress someone or celebrate something. Go here during lunch if you want a fantastic meal and want to see what the best korean food can taste like but don't want to break the bank.

I liked them all, ribs were fall of the bone. Wagyu melted in your mouth tender. Sausage had a little spice and a bite to it. - Churros (5/5): So crunchy and the ube sauce was not too sweet. - Pandana Pudding (4/5): Pandan flavor was a little too lacking here.
