    Spam Musubi

We were looking for other locations of The Loft and found this. It is a quick service style restaurant unlike the Lakewood location where a server may take your order. The menu is definitely smaller than the Lakewood location. It also doesn't advertise that you could substitute the patties with Island Fried Chicken in the Loco Moco. But I asked for it anyways and they were able to do it and it came out quick -- faster than Lakewoods location. I liked the meat to rice ratio more than Lakewoods (which had way less meat). Unfortunately it wasn't as tasty as the Lakewood location. The Spam Musubi was better than Lakewoods. The food was still good, but if I'm craving the Loft, I'll still drive farther for their Lakewood location.

It's been awhile since my last review. Based on recent visit & recent catered food at a friend's party. Noticed a smaller menu. Slightly higher prices as it is everywhere. My go to is Lau lau. Order came with 2 scoops of rice & Mac salad. Still a great combo. No longer effecting lomi salmon as an addition. As my previous review stated, the pork while tender could use a dash of salt. No butterfish of course. Hubby had half a loco moco. We must be getting old because we just can't eat as much as we use to. Recent catered food at a friend's- chicken teri, beef teri, Mac salad, fried saimin were all very tasty with plenty of sauce served in the side. I've had the catered food several times & it's been great every time. My friend has had mixed feelings with the fried saimin. It's very mushy half the time, great half the time. Complaints to counter person or management seems to fall on deaf ears. My suggestion would be, when ordering to go, take a peek before you leave. Not even sure it would matter if not prepared properly because they don't really care. Still giving 4 stars even with verified complaints.

It's been a little bit since I've last been here. In all it's good, the chicken was a bit rubbery, but the flavors are still there, and my son could care less about the texture. :P The service and ambiance are always good here, they're quick and friendly, and the place is always clean. :)

    Full order Chinese chicken salad

Was trying to think of something I haven't had in a while for dinner and landed on the Chinese chicken salad from The Loft. Once one of my faves, I always got a scoop of macaroni salad with it, so did that today too. The chicken salad was still yummy as I remembered.. plenty of dressing and a little side of extra teriyaki. However the mac salad was horrible. It used to have that wow factor and now it has that should I keep eating this because something seems a little off factor. In fact I threw half of it away and surprised myself that I ate that much of it. I hope I don't regret it in the night I have to assume they changed the recipe in the last 5-10 years. Not a good change; I won't order that again

No stars. We ordered the "Island Hawaiian fried chicken" for our 4th of July gathering. It was very disappointing. Over cooked, dry and stale. Almost as if they didn't sell this chicken yesterday and re- fried it. We didn't notice it, prior to putting it out and boy were we disappointed. I'll add pictures to show just how dry. We would have brought it back but we were hosting. There was no time to go back.

I would've liked to give this place 3.5 stars but we aren't able to give halves haha. I used to go to this place all the time but never been to this particular location. The main thing you should get here is the Hawaiian fried chicken. It's what they're known for and honestly the best thing. I was hoping the Katsu Teri steak was gona be fire but the ratio of meat to panko breading was seriously off. It was as flat as paper and mainly tasted like a wonton strip according to my boyfriend. The place also didn't have great ventilation so it was really stuffy and hot inside. The workers there were very friendly and the food came out pretty fast. Def worth checking out if you're in the area.

They are open as the times that are posted. If there's no answer wait a few minutes and try again. Usually means they are slammed and the other phones are currently being used. Happens cause they get busy steady foot traffic. Totally worth the wait

From the start, the service was excellent and easily one of the highlights of our visit. The cashier was exceptionally kind and even apologized for the wait, generously applying his employee discount to our order to make up for it. Despite the initial delay, our food was ready within 10 minutes. **Spam Brûlée Musubi: 5/5** Nestled between layers of freshly steamed rice, the grilled spam was coated in a glossy teriyaki-style glaze. Creamy kimchi aioli was drizzled on top, while the brûléed brown sugar formed a thin caramelized crust that added a pleasant sweetness and delicate crunch with each bite. It was so good that we ended up getting a second order. **Hot Kimchi Butter Katsu Chicken Sandwich: 5/5** This sandwich featured incredibly crispy panko-fried chicken that remained tender and juicy beneath its golden crust, smothered in hot kimchi butter that provided a subtle acidity and gentle heat. A touch of brûléed brown sugar introduced a sweet contrast to the savory fried chicken, while the kimchi aioli and macaroni salad brought a mellow creaminess that balanced its richness. Rounding out the sandwich was the Hawaiian bun, which was soft and moist yet nicely toasted on the exterior. **Hot Kimchi Butter Katsu Chicken & Katsu Shrimp Mixed Plate: 5/5** The mixed plate was another standout, combining their signature chopped katsu chicken with lightly battered shrimp drenched in hot kimchi butter. The shrimp had a light crispness that gave way to a succulent, snappy bite, while the sauce delivered a bold, umami-forward flavor. Accompanying the proteins were rice and their house-made macaroni salad, which incorporated shredded tuna and mashed hard-boiled eggs into a mayonnaise-based dressing finished with a sprinkle of paprika. These additions elevated an otherwise unassuming side with unexpected depth and complexity. Between the outstanding hospitality and impressive execution, Shootz exceeded expectations across the board, earning its place as my go-to whenever I'm at Rodeo 39.

The Wagyu was savory without being overly rich, and the chicken breast was lean but still really flavorful. They give you the choice between the regular chicken, which is dark meat and a little more savory, or the chicken breast, which is the leaner option. Personally, I eat a lot of lean meat, so pairing the Wagyu with the chicken breast was perfect for me. I also chose a double order of the macaroni salad for both of my sides instead of the kale salad or the other original side. It was a little extra, but completely worth it. It's hard to find places with really good macaroni salad, and this one did not disappoint. I really enjoyed the entire plate. The food came out very quickly, the service was great, and I'll definitely be coming back.

But for $20, I can get a two-meat plate with high quality white meat chicken + beef + fried egg, and feel satiated until late afternoon (might be the peptides talking tho, who knows ;) ). I always call it in, and it's always ready on time. I always get the plate combo (beef + chicken breast), with kale and cabbage salad. Rice is included. I think their mac salad is good, but not worth the upcharge. I do suggest getting extra sauce on the side, as usually the one cup they give isn't enough based on the portion. I also love ordering ahead and just grab n go. This and Urban Grill are both solid options.

Musubi, taco masubis, and rice bowls. Ordered the miso salmon Musubi, bbq short rib taco, crispy calamari taco, and grilled unagi taco Firstly, everything tasted really really well done. Flavours were on point and textures and sizes were pretty decent too. Why 3 stars? It's pretty pricey. For nearly $40+ worth of food, you don't feel like you got a meal out of it. It's hard for me to say if it's "worth it" because they did do a fantastic job with how everything tasted. The only item I was kind of disappointed in was the Korean bbq taco. The meat was smokey and flavorful, but lots of fatty chewy pieces and occasional rare piece. That's me being picky Overall I would recommend as a novelty type place. Still hard to justify $ to quality and quantity but I wasn't disappointed in the items. Wish they sold the seaweed chips they make the tacos out of. I'd totally get those on the side
