The holidays are over but the need to find the unique items for any occasions...totes low as $3 are always in need and to have these craft fairs on a scheduled basis is a great support to our local small businesses and to easily reach out to folks looking for that something that's not easily found in one location. This Made with Aloha Gift Fair is at Pearlridge Center Mauka Wing every third Saturday and Sundays right in the middle of it all and the vendors may vary at moments though follow @islandcraftfairs as they will list the participating shops and what they have to offer...it sure got me down here to see what Chinese New Year items they have from Unik Gifts and Things and no they don't have instagram but though wonderful events like this reached out to many folks flocking over to shop and with my purchase he gave me a free frog charm for good luck as he says "you can't buy luck" very true and a generous gesture which was truly valuable and this made me smile. Love this market!…read more Supporting small local biz who show the love of Hawai'i and the culture in their own way showcasing an impressive collection of items is what makes this market so special. Like many other markets who seems to be trying to find a place Ho'omau Hawai'i Market has been shopping around and I think I do love this current location at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Coral Ballroom which was tricky to find if you're not paying attention like me as the ballroom sits on the 6th floor of the parking building so it's super convenient along with parking is validated at $10 flat rate which the staff was just so friendly to explain it all is nice. Happening over the following Black Friday weekend (Nov 26th & 27th), many are familiar and a few that is new to me browsing around in the cool air conditioning ballroom made the shopping experience nice. Weather it's picking up cute Turkish Towels and glassware from Kris Hawaii, Mamaki tea from Kihene, or my cravings at 'Ulu Chips and Hummus and many offered such great deal along with entertainment is such a calming vibe that has me shopping much more than I expected and the uniqueness is what makes this market so special. It's a bit of a cross between a flea market and a Chinatown. The prices will get lower and some vendors will wheel and deal if you walk away. I bought a carved coconut tiki mug that started out at $25--my hesitation brought the price down to $15. Dog bandanas went from $15 each this $10 each. You get the picture. If it's fun to look around and bargain, but be aware that we saw similar items at the ABC convenience stores (on every corner--like a circle k but much nicer) for, in some cases, a lower price. But I took my kids to another coffee truck (A Little A Latte) and like it goes with kids, they made me late. So I got here right at 10. But it's ok bc Cai.CafeX3 was just getting here. So I was a tad annoyed. But then I actually looked at the sign and it said 11am. They opened the doors right on time at 11 and took the first two customers in. I waited not even 5 more min before they let me in. Initially they were still making drinks for Jolene's staff which I think is awesome to bless their staff with a drink but it really delayed the drinks for the rest of us. They were very nice tho and kept apologizing. Wasn't a huge problem bc at the beginning of events like this you need to hit your groove. I was out of there by 11:22. The girls in front of me ordered a total of 4 drinks, and I ordered 3 drinks.... So I guess over all with all the staff drinks they had to make, and the fact that it was only one drink maker... they were still pretty quick. The line was wrapping around Jolene's so I think they will do well. I ordered the Vanilla Salted Caramel, the Strawberry Matcha Spritzer, and the Hojicha. They were only offering oat milk today, I think to manage the line, but if you go to their IG they normally offer other milks. I will need to try them again when I can choose bc I do not really like oat milk. But I do like how you can customize your sweetness level. All our drinks were good. My daughter pilfered the spritzer. Of the three the salted vanilla was the best. Their straws were cute pink heart straws that didn't photograph well in its wrapping. But my daughter says she's gonna use one on Wednesday bc it's pink lol. And we got a cute sticker too!

I just adore a crafty mind!…read more As a major crafter myself I love finding the creativity and boldness they all take to the next level is just inspiring. The amazing joy I find is that no two market is alike, as this December 2022 at Ward Village event was held in the former Pier 1 location next to Nordstrom Rack. I had a blast exploring @AdamJK uniqueness as each of us loved the realness we can relate to each item weather a time that says shhhh, I got a stress ball that says "Nothing Matters" and I'd really like the hat "I really don't know what I'm doing" for work lol!! His spirit was just so fun and bright :-) My other delight was One Shabby Chick @oneshabbychickhawaii and unknowingly my first tote from her was a collaboration with @makelemonadeproject a non profit to ease financial burdens and going though it myself instantly got me so of course I needed another tote! So many fun gifting ideas, Bas bookshop, jewelry ad even a random give away "fingers crossed" this pet friendly market has something for all. October 30, 2014 I took my family to the Art and Flea event…read more I caught the bus with my daughter and foster child. We met Darcie who parked her car in the Ward Warehouse parking lot. We walked across the street to the back portion behind Marukai. Admission was $3 for the adults. The two kids were free. There were food booths but we saved our hunger for Goma Tei in the Ward Center. I jumped on the bike that helped power the KTUH sound stage. I got a free bag from Kaleo newspaper. It had some cool goodies inside. At the Yelp booth, Raelyn played a trivia game. I won a Yelp thermos. Many vendors were set up in a two-story warehouse. We picked up some cool young women's clothes at a terrific discount. Andy Lee was making his art and kindly gave us a free sample. All in all a pretty good night for a family get-together or outing. Also, it seemed very pet friendly even though the theme was Tokyo. During some bedtime talk we agreed that this event was more art than flea, but the flea bargains were indeed great.
