This is by far the best Aloha Salad location, compared with Kailua and Kahala Mall. There is seating, upstairs in the loft, downstairs, and a few tables outside. They also provide flavored water for dine in guests, which is nice in the arid Kapolei desert. I love their salads, which feature fresh local ingredients such as the Kahuku shrimp and spinach salad and the Ono Ahi salad. Both excellent choices. In my ideal world, every McDonalds on the island would be replaced by Aloha Salads. My favorite is getting the 1/2 salad/soup and 1/2 sando. ... But that's probably because I can never choose. We dropped in here on a lark to take the edge off, and were pleasantly surprised by the noticeably fresh ingredients and pleasing presentation of our Aloha salad. We split a large Aloha Passion (mixed greens, mangoes, apples, red grapes, cranberries, bleu cheese, candied walnuts, and a passion-orange vinaigrette), which was attractive and tasty. It was a little pricey for my taste, though that seems to be true across Oahu more generally. The service (order at the counter) was cheerful and helpful in explaining our options. This place deserves 5-stars because, well, let's just say I'm a huge fan of sandwiches and this place has got their sandwich-making game perfected. I love that their ingredients are always so fresh and I've never found a brown tinge on a single piece of lettuce here (shame on you, Subway) I usually get a combo meal because I'm not the kind of person who can just eat a salad and be satisfied. I've been to Aloha Salads in Kapolei several times and even have taken friends from abroad here, and it's always a hit! Today though, I went at lunch time and there was a line but then again I wasn't in a rush. Today I ordered the combo which is half a sandwich and a small salad or soup. I decided on the Vegetarian Sandwich (eggplant, artichoke hearts, sun dried tomatoes, roasted red peppers, mozzarella cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and goddess dressing on ciabatta wheat) and Kamuela Cobb salad (grilled chicken breast with bacon, blue cheese, tomatoes, eggs, avocado slices with herb ranch dressing on the side). The sandwich was warm and toasted with all the goodies and everything was fresh and Delicious!!! The last time I was here I tried out the Curried Chicken Wrap (curried chicken salad, carrots, grapes, lettuce, cranberries all wrapped in a warm pita bread). I found it to be somewhat creamy but full of flavor and the grapes weren't bad after all. On another occassion I had the Kahuku Spinach Salad (grilled shrimps, bacon, avocado and eggs with a Papaya seed dressing on the side). This time, I tried the Kahuku Spinach salad that consisted of: grilled tiger shrimp (x2), bacon, avocado, egg and spinach with papaya seed dressing. 3 1/2 stars please! But it's a + 3 1/2 vs a - Just wanting to try something new...and I thought they only had salads. Boy was I surprised to find out they had yummy sandwiches too! And soup. Although today's soup was chicken noodle so I ended up opting for just a sandwich. I like the selections but as I was looking at the salad I did notice that most of them had at least one ingredient I didn't care for...so I'll probably have to "create my own" salad...the next time I go. This first time I tried the caprese sub but I ended up getting it with pita bread instead of the ciabatta (I would have probably gotten white). Who craves pita bread anyway? For some reason when the girl gave me the option of bread, pita just sounded totally awesome! I had never had tomatoe bisque before. I didnt even know what it was. One day a few months back my co-worker says to me, "You should try the tomatoe bisque from Aloha Salads." I did not really want to. It didn't sound that appealing to me, but I did. And guess what??!!?? It was absolutely amazing. The best soup I have ever had in my life. I get 2 extra packs of the pita bread, that it comes with, and I tear the bread into tiny pieces and drop them in the bisque. I have since got my entire staff eating the tomoatoe bisque. I come here pretty often and I get the sandwich/soup combo. I like the tuna on wheat with the tomato bisque soup. The tuna is real tuna! They use fresh ahi belly and add fresh strawberries and mangos. And their tomato bisque is really yummy. One of the better ones I've had. You really can't go wrong with this combo. They are great with suggestions on tweaking the salads to get the flavor perfect and they are also very patient for the first timer.
