I ended up at Aloha Stacks because the other place wanted reservations. Honestly, it worked out. I got the Denver omelet, and the cool thing is all omelets and scrambles come with a pancake choice. I went with banana pancakes--they were fluffy, though I could've gone for a bit more banana. They didn't have Tapatío for my denver omelet, but Tabasco worked fine. Went for breakfast today. Long line, waited 40 minutes but well worth it!! Food was delicious. My granddaughter had the kids pancakes eggs bacon. She ate it all (3 yrs old) portion was generous. I had the Island Chillaques ( spelled wrong ‍) made with Kalua pork. Very good. Watching all the dishes being brought out. They all looked amazingly good. Definitely will be back. Food was delicious! We had garden crepes, breakfast sandwich, macadamia nut and banana pancakes, and ube waffles. To drink we had the Hawaiian latte and the ube latte. No notes, complaints or suggestions because everything was PERFECT! As for the service, Maricela was soooo sweet, kind and welcome, she quickly cleaned a table for us, she greeted us with a smile and made us feel welcomed, as if we were having breakfast at her home because her hospitality was amazing! The pork was soft and not too salty. The eggs were cooked just right. Instead of potatoes I asked for rice and macaroni salad. As a big back, I ordered captain mac nut French toast. This French toast consisted of macadamian nuts and captain crunch cereal. I shared this with my hubby. We could not finish the toast after our filling entrees. The customer service was great. Everyone working there was friendly and polite. The line to order was continuously long, however the food came out quickly. Amazing delicious Hawaiian food in the area! Often times, we go to the Cerritos location, came to Whittier to try the Prime Rib Loco Moco. The prime rib was thick, 12 ounces. Often times they sell out so come early! I got my original Kalua Pork Benedict. We tried the Fruity Pebble French Toast, it was okay, wish their pancakes, waffles and French toast came in a smaller 1/2 portion. My son got the the kids, scrambled eggs egg with 2 pieces of bacon, and upgraded the French toast for a Oreo French toast for $5 ( I think) . My first visit. I've been to the Plumeria Cafe down in Laguna, same company so the menu is very similar. Lots of quality options to choose from. This location feels like a mix between a sit down restaurant and fast food restaurant; you walk up and order & pay to start, they give you your drinks and table number and then you seat yourself. They bring your food out to you. It was busy right at lunch time but the line of about 15 people moved quickly, only took a few minutes; and food came out within about 5 minutes, too, only complaint is that the eggs on my Kalua Pork Eggs Benedict were a bit cold, but still had runny yolks, so can't be too upset. Oh and the potatoes were very plain, no seasoning or anything cooked with them to boost them up. There is lots of seating, inside & (covered) outside, with low volume music playing. We showed up right at peak lunch and yep, there was a line out the door. But it moved fast, and once we ordered, finding a table wasn't a problem. They recommend not holding a table until after you order. But honestly, it's fine because there's always one that opens up. We couldn't decide what to get, so we just went for it and ordered everything that sounded good. The food came out pretty quickly, and every dish hit. If you're going big like we did, make sure you've got enough room on your table since we definitely maxed ours out. The prime rib was solid. The prime rib local moco I'd been seeing online was good, but the chimichurri fried beef ribs stole the show as always especially with the coconut pineapple pancakes, and over-easy eggs. And the guava toffee French toast? Wildly good. Tart and sweet in the best way. Guava and toffee wasn't a combo I expected to love, but now I'm obsessed. Staff was super friendly and on it. The owners even came around to check in, really welcoming and made the whole experience feel personal. Only thing is they close at 2:30, which feels early. But I saw signs about dinner service coming in the winter, and I'll definitely be back for that. If you're thinking about going, go. It's worth it! We planned to meet up here for breakfast. Parking is a problem since we came here on a Saturday morning and the bank is open to and it has designated parking so beware. It is set up as you order first and then sit. I treated my friends for their birthdays. We got a sofa, coffee and ube latte. The ube latte was perfectly sweet. We've passed by this business before and really wanted to try it so we stopped by for breakfast! We came on a Friday around noon and it was VERY crowded. We've never been before and were surprised to see it wasn't a full service restaurant, and you had to order at the counter. We waited a good 15 minutes just to get our order taken, but there was plenty of seating since tables would get up to leave while we were still in line. They do run the food to your table and drop off a jug of water so there is still some service but it's a pretty casual spot for the most part. They have plenty indoor and outdoor seating, and overall it's a pleasant spot for brunch. For food we ordered the eggs and protein (Portuguese sausage), the breakfast burrito, and the Captain Mac Nut French toast (Captain Crunch + Macadamia) . We really enjoyed that you could swap out certain proteins for leaner options on some of the plates. While nothing we ordered really tasted out of this world, it was all very solid, and with plenty of options on the menu everyone's bound to find something they like. While we're not necessarily in a rush to come back, we've definitely added this to the list of brunch options nearby and would visit again if we're craving it! read more

I ordered the corned beef eggs with a side of fruit. Wasn't the best, but it was very delicious to me. I enjoyed it a lot. I did ask for a fruit cup, but they just gave me strawberries for some reason. Lol friend ordered waffles and a different type of waffles. I forgot to take a picture of. All the food here looks amazing! They have a lot of seating inside and they have a little patio area which I thought was cool. Lots of plants around which I love. I was so excited to see this place because it's HARD to find decent Hawaiian food in this area; my go-to spots are Home in Lahaina or King's Hawaiian. We ordered the plates that came with a pancake, choice of meat and eggs. You can upgrade the pancakes. but, unfortunately, you can't upgrade the French Toast. I brought my bf here for breakfast for his birthday only to tell him that his folks we're meeting us (SURPRISE, HONEY). My in-laws came all the way out from Victorville, and they LOVED the food. The atmosphere was buzzing as there were a ton of happy people. Service was spot on, and we didn't have to wait too long for our food. Worth the 20 min wait in line! Don't be intimidated if you drive up and there is a line, this place works like clockwork and is very organized. We had our food within 6 mins after sitting down. Very laid back, clean atmosphere and a very friendly staff. We got the special chimichurri fried beef ribs and they were wonderful. We also got the banana Nutella crepes and they didn't disappoint. Lastly, we wanted a bit more sweet so we got the banana macadamia nut pancakes (the macadamia is a cream is super light and delicious. Walked in and saw a loooong line so was already dreading a wait.....but this place worked through the line efficiently! It was definitely worth the short wait! We ordered and could only find a table that hadn't been cleaned yet by the previous guests but as soon as Monica and her coworker noticed the table they came up, greeted us, smiled and immediately started clearing a table for us while engaging in polite and friendly conversation, which you don't always get at places these days. So it was such a nice experience for us to start our day. Ordered Loco Moco (hamburger patty) with fried rice, side of Portuguese sausage, Ube pancakes and Hawaiian latte. Nothing wrong with the food, ambiance was clean, modern and spotless. Food service was prompt. The buzzkill was the line. Didn't know that the line goes outside of the main entrance. I was instructed to go outside to the end of the line where I was displaced by another six customers. The person managing the line, older bald gentleman with a black Hawaiian shirt, didn't manage the line constantly. He also bused tables and assisted the servers. I would have been more understanding and patient if the line was constantly monitored so it reduces confusion and frustration. I gotta admit, the place busy with an established customer base. This place is an order first and then get your table. They do put reserved signs on the table as a courtesy for those looking for one. SERVICE: The line to get inside was about 30 minutes. The man helping us in the front asking if we had any questions was very nice. He gave us a rundown of how seating was for the first timers in the group. The cashiers were extremely nice and made sure to repeat back my order. The drink I had came out before the food and they made sure to have water at the table as well. The runners/servers were all very quick and made sure to make us feel comfortable. FOOD: This is not my first rodeo at an Aloha Stacks, but I can say that the food is always top quality. The mac'nut banana pancakes were fluffy and delicious. Not too sweet! My breakfast burrito was piping hot and was fantastic with every bite. I don't think my burrito even had the chance to even get cold, that's how good it was! The savory food hasn't quite lived up to the rest of the experience for us. The breakfast burrito had good meat, but overall it was a mushy, soggy mess with very little texture variation. The island chilaquiles were fine, but not especially memorable. I know our experience doesn't seem to match a lot of the glowing reviews, so maybe we're just not ordering the right things. We did have a decent experience with the pancakes on a previous visit, but I also remember the waffle with chicken and cheese being very dry, with textures that felt off. Overall, the food we've tried so far lacks a real wow factor. That said, the matcha latte is pretty good, and I know they offer special meats on the weekends, so I'm willing to give it another try and see if ordering differently changes things. read more

I take so many food pics and forget to post them, but here's our recent visit The ube pancakes were okay I mostly just wanted to try them. I'm not a fan of anything soggy, and the top pancake was a little soft for me. The flavor was good though, and the coconut topping was really good! The pot pie was just okay. The filling was very thick and only had a couple pieces of soft chicken, no carrots. I'd probably order it again on a cold day, but otherwise maybe not. The sandwich was good! It didn't wow us, but it felt like it was missing a little something. We love coming in and trying something new every time. After we had to go look for a table which was difficult because of the restaurant being busy and needing a table where we can use a wheelchair and put the walker to the side at least . Personally, I don't like when restaurants have you look for your own table as people will always go and sit before they order to save a table. Our orders came out separately and wrong twice. The Mac nut banana pancakes were delicious. The dried oxtail tasted amazing, but the rice was undercooked and almost bland . The burger was basic; nothing special about it . The overall experience was alright, but not a place I'd be in a hurry to go back to. They should really take their Teriyaki Chicken off the menu. It was basically quarter of a chicken breast with a bit of teriyaki sauce poured on top. The chicken was not marinated and had it not been for the sauce, it would have just been plain chicken breast. To charge $16 for that tiny, bland portion was a bit egregious. For a Hawaiian place to have teri chicken this mediocre is sad and kind of insulting. I can't imagine what a local would say about it. And for those who might say that I ordered the wrong thing, my retort to that would be to not put something that mediocre on the menu or to actually put some effort into serving a quality dish.
