This place is amazing!! The food is all fresh and hand made at the time it's ordered. The coffee and boba tea's are some of the best around. Drinking that coffee brought me right back to a warm Hawaiian morning. The waffles are like nothing else out there, so yummy as a desert or sandwich. I recommend the brunch waffle. My first time visiting and I was very impressed! The staff was so welcoming, nice and answered any questions I had. I loved the atmosphere of the place, it's like a Hawaiian sun and surf vibe and very comfy. I wanted to kick my feet up but had to get out the door. The BLT is my favorite sandwich and this is the BEST BLT I have ever had! The Latte as well was just perfect with the right amount of flavor and warmth. Made me think of our time's visiting Hawaii. I give it 3 stars because every time I go there it is always a 45 min wait time for waffles. The specialty drinks are good and refreshing. I have never tried their waffle sandwiches. Hopefully one day I'll go when I don't have to wait for 45 to and an hour. read more

First & most importantly, customer service makes or breaks any establishment, especially ones who are working so closely with the public. From the minute we walked in until we left, all employees were super kind & smiled; sadly not what we see nowadays. They informed us right off the bat that there was a 20 minute wait & sorry for any convenience. I don't ever mind waiting, especially when they are upfront about it. My nephew & I have never been so naturally had no clue where to even start. The girl behind the counter walked us both through it & made the ordering super easy. While we waited there were plenty of table games to keep occupied. Once the beeper went off (coolest part according to my 9yr old nephew) & made our way outside to sit in the sun & enjoy. More games were outside along with a beautiful view & some cute ducky friends waddling around. First time eating here, it popped up on my Facebook feed. I ordered the Aloha waffle, unfortunately there wasn't any raspberries available but was offered either extra blueberries or strawberries. There was a lot of whipped cream, so if you're not a huge fan of that then perhaps tell them less or none. Which I wish I would have known. The girl at the register wasn't very friendly but she wasn't rude either, she just seemed very blah. She did watch me see if I was going to leave a tip or not which I didn't like at all. Makes it very awkward. Especially for a place where you're handed a buzzer when your food is ready for you to walk up to the counter and get. There were two other employees who also didn't seem very thrilled to be there. The waffle was ok, unfortunately it wasn't worth the 40 min drive. If in the area sure it's a good place to stop by for a snack. Not really a place to stop for an actual meal which I thought was going to be. The food was good, drinks was meh but it's too slow to ever go again. Low tier Boba/ bubble drinks. Their menu is slightly confusing and I was uncertain about what I wanted because I wasn't quite sure how to say it. The waffles were fine. I would definitely get those again but it was too slow to actually receive the order. Discount tire was able to change two tires before I could receive my order. The plan was to eat while they changed them but I had to take the order home. Discount tire is only about a minute drive/5 minute walk away. TO BE FAIR, the actually have a sign that basically says they're going to take a long time but the wait time was bogus. read more

Okay, I'm giving this a five-star review but also need to say that I doubt that we're going to return. Now with that said, here's the review. We recently learned that both this restaurant and the Mexican restaurant next door have a patio in back and since we often like to take our dogs for a ride and live in the area we were quite excited to find both a place that we could dine outside with our puppies as well as go for dessert. This drink and dessert shop is located in a strip mall next to the aloft Hotel and almost immediately behind the MayDay Ice Cream kiosk. Half of the space in the strip mall is still not occupied, but parking is already a nightmare even in the middle of the week. I do realize this isn't within the control of the tenant so much, but it's a huge hassle as a customer and it's only going to get worse because they are building out the other spaces. So, this lack of easy access is one reason why we wouldn't be so likely to return, but not the main one, because we're not that afraid of walking and if we loved it that much we would walk. We entered the location during what I believe was probably a little bit of a rush. Regardless, the inside was very clean and everyone was busy working and helping customers and there was just a good vibe overall. Because we had our dogs we had checked out their menu online and that allowed me to order while my husband stayed outside with the dogs. The cashier that assisted me was very friendly and patient. They can have quite a few different options, so while you're waiting in line please try to decide what you want to be respectful of customers behind you. I was pretty excited to see the inclusion of whipped cream on many of their items, but this quickly turned into a representation of one of my pet peeves because it ends up that they don't use whipped cream at all, but instead use some kind of whipped topping that's similar to Cool Whip (which I've always found unpalatable). However, knowing that it just meant that their menu item with berries and whipped cream was no longer something that I would enjoy. We ended up choosing two of what are essentially waffle cones in a cup. I believe mine was called The Floridian and it had vanilla ice cream (or whipped topping if I preferred) with fresh sliced strawberries and a cookie butter drizzle. Normally it would also have the whipped topping on top, which I declined. Our other item was the peanut butter with chocolate ice cream, chocolate drizzle, Reese's Pieces, and Reese's Peanut Butter Cup. We got chocolate ice cream with this one and it seems like you pretty much get the choice between chocolate or vanilla rice cream or whipped topping as a base with pretty much all of their dessert items. When my name was called, and not after that long of a wait considering how busy they were, both desserts looked wonderful. We did really enjoy the bubble waffle, and all of the flavors and toppings were delicious. I did not realize that toppings are sometimes included in the waffles, which was the case for the peanut butter one, so I would be interested in expanding on this if we ever choose to splurge and return. We both agreed that we would have enjoyed a little bit more moisture because it almost seemed like there was too much waffle for the single scoop of ice cream, so for me I think if they had real whipped cream, that would have made both of ours pretty much perfect. However, beyond the difficulty parking, we just really struggled with the price. We had already eaten dinner, so it's not like we were ravenously hungry. We do go out for ice cream all the time, all over town, and never have an issue with being satiated. Unfortunately, for approximately $14 for a single scoop waffle cone with a couple toppings, it just seems crazy extravagant. I do realize that things are kind of challenging right now for businesses from many different perspectives, but when I can get a Gotta Have It for $7 from Cold Stone Creamery that we can easily share, I just have some difficulty with paying the price of a dessert at a fine dining restaurant (and arguably perhaps even a bit high for there) at a little cafe and walking away not feeling satiated. I feel like their markup on the cost of food items may be quite a bit higher than similar places. This is really why we won't likely be back. It was almost $30 for two waffle cones that left us wanting to stop by Cold Stone Creamery. Again, super clean, super friendly, efficient, tasty, nice outdoor seating which gets a little bit hot since it's uncovered (no umbrellas) and this is Florida in the summer. But I couldn't imagine coming here with kids and paying $15 for each of their desserts. Perhaps if two people could share a $15 dessert then this might be more palatable, but it's really not shareable unless you're just not hungry. read more

Came in Sunday with a friend around 9:30. We were told about 20 minutes for a waffle. We both decided on one each to split. We sat and in typical fashion, an hour went by because we love to chat. We went to check and were told there was a "glitch" and did we still want our waffles and "we can put a rush on them". We paid 11$ a waffle and not sure how much for coffee. We tipped 15% which ended up being 2.70. So we each paid nearly 15 $ for a waffle that took an hour plus. Food was good. We split one and took the other home. Our coffee we ordered with breakfast were long gone by the time we got our food. Doesn't keep well so we ended up throwing half our food out. Not sure I'd be back and I was stoked to visit. There was no line, not many in the dining area. 20 minutes was ok, but to pay and tip to sit for well over an hour to be told there was a glitch is a lot. read more

Northside across from River City shopping center...This family owned restaurant has a creative way of blending their Hawaiian cuisine heritage with simple waffle sandwiches & Boba drinks (+ much more menu options). My favorite is their bacon avocado waffle sammich & Hawiian POG drink! The ambience is breezy laid back surf-island with open view of the patio deck overlooking nature & water. It's stress relieving for a work day lunch getaway & reasonably priced. Also a breakfast & lunch fun sunny-day picnic experience for the family. Food is fast & freshly made in open view kitchen. Downside: Its hidden on an off street & nestled in a strip mall, so doesn't catch drive-by curiosity. The backyard of the restaurant is what really upscales this from a hole-in-wall good food to worth seeking it out. I worry for it's future for its hidden location. With proper marketing, this unique fare could give main stream fast food a solid competition! ...My worry might be moot however, as there's known to be a line out the door on Saturday mornings! read more
