The golf course is muddy cause they water late in the morning and the restrooms haven't worked in about 5 years.

Par 3 course is very compact and crowded. Course setup is pretty nice and has a variety of 100-190 yard holes. The only issue is waiting in between groups to continue the play. The greens were recently punched leaving some bumpy unpredictable lines, overall the value is there. Not a course to go out of your way for but if you're in the area it's worth a quick play through.

    Bathroom. Yuck.

Course was normal public. Muddy and sloppy. The bathrooms are better in prison. The cafe looked like a soup kitchen. The driving range is under "repair". Get what you pay for here. And surrounding by chain link fences and traffic.

High soft wedge landed in middle of bunker and bounced uphill then rolled to this position

Played back nine last week and conditions were much improved. Greens are borderline fast and smooth, bunkers had sand nicely raked. overall courses in great condition. Clearly courses in our new management keep up the good work.

For the price the course is dog shit. Range is not open 50% of the time. Takes like 6 hrs to finish a round and Snack bar is hardly open. When new management bought out prices went up and course stayed the same. They even swapped the old carts for other old carts from another course. Unfortunately no good courses in so cal.

driving range fees as of 10/27/23

The rate at which Alondra has raised their rates is borderline robbery. A large bucket of 105 balls costs $18!!! Although they were recently acquired by American Golf which all other courses by them participate in a "Players Club" membership, Alondra's response is to ignore the fact that they say coming soon on their website because "we get enough traffic that we don't need to give people deals to come more often." (seriously was said to me) Not sure if the poor saps that go there for the range understand that if they go 15 times a month, they're spending $270!!! The discount key cards are humorous as well. The next closest golf course is Chester Washington which is also American Golf and DOES have a Players Club. BUT, if you're west of Alondra that's a rough drive. I found a golf simulator place literally on the same street of Alondra and did the math, if I go 9 times a month (which is WAY less than I go) then it easily pays for itself and is saving me hundreds of dollars. I wish Alondra would care a bit more about their patrons, or at the very least if you're going to GOUGE your players can you at least provide balls that don't look like they're 10 years old on the range????

She knows the ins and out of the simulator equipment and super helpful to guide you through to have the best experience possible. They have huge comfy couches in the check in lobby area and also a putter to practice on with auto return of the ball. They have 5 bays here and you can do a membership to book your times. Customize your simulator experience to calculate distances, play mini games, compete locally or globally, play from courses around the world without having to travel or wait around. All the tech here is top of the line, no lag, no glitch or waiting. It loads fast and responsive. Lots of data being shown - angle of attack, club face, swing speed, ball speed and the list goes on. You can even do instant replays and so much more custom options. Lots of chairs for friends to watch and relax. There is a lot of natural light here so it makes it bright and airy but I would prefer using the bay's that are further away from the windows so the screen looks more vivid.

I read a few reviews of poorly kept fairways and greens but they must not have gone recently. The greens are the best I've seen. Which is bad, since now I can't blame my missed puts on the greens. I've played Rancho, Los Feliz, Alondra, Terrenea, Arroyo, Arcadia, Scholl, VN and a few others and Westdrift is ranked 1 in my book. The course layout and maintenance are fantastic. As a frequent player here, I've come to appreciate its unique charm, solid upkeep, and challenging layout, making it a standout option compared to other local courses like The Lakes. One of the first things that strikes me about Westdrift is its consistent maintenance. I've noticed tee boxes being moved or renovated during some visits, but the staff is impressively quick to address these issues--by my next round, typically a week later, everything is back in top shape. The course used to have a problem with overly high grass in some areas, but that's no longer an issue. The fairways and greens are now well-maintained, offering a polished yet approachable experience for golfers of all levels. The course itself is a great mix of challenge and fun. Hole #8 is a personal favorite--a par 3 with a lake that tempts you to go for a bold drive over the water or play it safe to the right. It's a strategic hole that rewards smart decision-making and adds excitement to the round. Other holes offer similar challenges, with well-placed bunkers and subtle elevation changes that keep you on your toes without feeling unfair. Compared to The Lakes, which is priced similarly, I find Westdrift to be the better value. The course feels more dynamic, and the overall experience is elevated by small perks like validated parking when you play. For members, the benefits are even sweeter: half-priced rounds, the ability to use a push cart, and discounts at the adjacent hotel. These extras make it a no-brainer for regulars like me who frequent the course and often see familiar faces among the local golfing crowd. The reviews online sometimes leave me puzzled, as they don't always capture Westdrift's appeal. It's not a flashy course, but its consistent improvements, engaging layout, and member-friendly perks make it a fantastic choice for anyone looking to play a quality round without breaking the bank. If you're in the area and haven't given Westdrift a shot, it's well worth a visit--you might just find it becomes your new favorite. Rating: 4.5/5 - A challenging yet accessible course with great upkeep and value, especially for members.

Just to be 100% clear, this review is for the Golf Tec Studio located inside the El Segundo…read morelocation of Golfsmith. I cannot say enough about Golf Tec, the coaches, and the mission of this business. Really, I know I am paying for this service, but all they want to do is help me enjoy golf, make me better at the game, and to completely (with technology and good coaching) help me to understand the mechanics of golf in relation to MY swing, MY body, and MY intended skill level. I enrolled in the Summer of 2015, and bought a year-long set of lessons, a custom club-fitting, 4 video (on course) lessons, and all the indoor range balls I could hit. It was not cheap. But when you think about it...if I am a 95 average golfer and I wish to be an 80-82 average golfer, I need to shave roughly 15 strokes a round off my game, and no manner of lucky putting, "decent" tee shots, or really lucky bounces will get me there. Only professional instruction, lessons geared to my learning style and physics, and practice will help do that. Since July I have lowered my average by 5-6 strokes. That's almost half the way there in 4.5 months of lessons. I took advantage of the club fitting to get new irons that are customized to my height, my grip, and my swing style (speed)...and DAMN...instant returns. My new clubs help my confidence level, I hit them straighter and longer, and they only build my trust level for this coaching experience. When I signed up, I drew Matt Newby as my coach...as fate would have it. He's a great guy, an avid hockey fan (like me), super personable, very passionate about golf, and he really understands me as a person (my hang ups on the course, my competitive nature, and my athletic physiology). Matt has been paramount in this improvement process and I cannot say enough about him and his teachings. The lessons are fun, and informative. I get instant (and constant) video feedback on the hi-tech monitors that record everything from my body positioning, swing speed, club orientation to the ball, etc...and we get HD video feedback saved to my own personal Golf Tec on-line lesson bank. I can re watch lessons at any time, and go over my sessions and homework on my iphone app or my PC. I can even schedule my own practices at any location, or communicate with my coach when needed. This is amazing in every way, and WORTH EVERY PENNY. You're only going to get better at something with practice, good teachings, a good attitude, and by committing yourself to it. I want to be a better golfer (I'm not old yet, but I know my days of competitive ice hockey are coming to a close). I want to have golf as a recreational sport for many years and I wish to enjoy it thru being decent at it, and doing my best. Matt is helping me through his teaching, GolfTec is helping me through the myriad of tools, and I am helping myself by committing to it. This is TRULY one of the best choices I have ever made.

The Director (Josh) informed me that the suspension ended after 60 days (this was never mentioned to me and mind you - no one reached out as promised) and that I had "abandoned" 18 lessons.
