Apple tart (left), bread pudding (R)

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Amazing atmosphere and food.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Quaint little restaurant with elevated German food.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It is very pricey so prepared to spend some $$ here. We were greeted warmly by the hostess and seated right away. They don't have a kid's menu, but they have plenty of kid friendly food to choose from. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I love how the dinning area has stone wall and chairs with white fur on them.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great romanic place for dates or special occasions.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There were 5 of us and we ordered the pork schnitzel which was perfectly pan fried and seasoned ($36). The ham and cheese crepe was $22, small but very good... I was still left hungry so we also ordered the beet spatzel ($18), it came in a bowl with goat cheese , so good. The chicken entree(forgot the name) was big enough to share by my kids. It was cooked with skin on, which I prefer, crispy skin and tender meat, sooooo good. It was supposed to come with parsnip puree but they were nice enough to sub it with mashed potatoes for my kids. It was devoured! We also shared 2 deserts: apple strudel and bread pudding. They were good, but not the best we've had... For $16 each, maybe this can be skipped. But overall, great meal! Oh forgot to mention they have an apple schnapps shot for $5 that comes in a little Dasboot shot glass. So yummy!! A must try!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Very nice place and has welcoming staff.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We had such a lovely dinner and felt quite a bit in the Alpines.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Definitely recommend a visit here. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was a lovely space and wish they had an additional fireplace in the main dining room.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It is, however, quite overpriced for what you get.

The food was incredible! Service was exceptional, and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the ambiance was cozy![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Highly recommend for couples as a date night or double date idea.

Steamed PEI mussels

My husband and I enjoyed our dinner here tonight. Very warm and nice ambience, Russ our server was good and really decent food. We ordered steamed mussels (PEI) for appetizer, and for entree filet mignon was tasty and the roasted half duck was really delicious. The chocolate hazelnut crepe dessert really hit the spot for me too!

Anchor Seafood Restaurant - Maine lobster $36

If you told me I'd find some of the best seafood of my life in landlocked Southern Vermont, I…read moreprobably wouldn't have believed you--but Anchor Seafood House & Grille is the real deal. This place has been a Wilmington staple since 1997, and you can tell they've spent the last nearly 30 years perfecting the craft. The atmosphere is incredible. While the original 1850s building was lost to a fire in 2010, the current space is a beautiful, faithful replica that feels historic and cozy. It's the perfect spot for a post-ski dinner or a summer night out. Here's the breakdown of what you need to order: The Chowder: This is proper New England clam chowder. It's thick, rich, and loaded with clams--not just a bowl of potatoes and heavy cream. It's the ultimate comfort food. Steamers: You have to start with the steamers. They are clean, sweet, and served the traditional way with a side of broth and drawn butter. It's a messy, delicious classic that they do perfectly here. Whole Belly Clams: These are the gold standard. They're lightly breaded, perfectly fried, and have that sweet, briny pop you usually only find at a roadside shack on the Maine coast. If you're a fan of "the bellies," don't skip these. The Lobster: I went for the steamed lobster, and it was impeccable. Succulent chunks of fresh meat and just the right amount of butter. It tasted like it was caught that morning. It's rare to find a spot that balances a "fancy night out" feel with such unpretentious, high-quality food. Whether you're a local or just passing through for the foliage, make sure you stop here.

When we got to the restaurant and we were asked if we had a reservation, I was a little worried…read morethat there wouldn't be a table because I didn't think of making a reservation. It was off-season in the area so many places haven't been busy. Luckily they asked if we were okay with the bar. Most definitely okay with the bar! We actually got pretty good attention when sitting at the bar. I ordered the Broiled Seafood Sampler because I like seafood and anytime I can get a variety in a dish, I'll go for that. The sampler consisted of haddock, salmon, scallops, and shrimp. The dish contained plenty of the fish and only two pieces each of the scallops and shrimp. The dish was not what I was expecting because of the crumb topping and creamy sauce. It was fine. We definitely got a good portion and the linguine with garlic and oil was fantastic! It was definitely garlicky, just the way I like it.

Cozy little restaurant hidden away behind where Pancho's Wreck used to be, with free parking,…read morefriendly staff and very good food. We had the tacos and a burrito and can recommend both. They have also have an outdoor dining area. And did I mention that the margaritas are great?

The entrance to the restaurant is in the back. We almost left thinking it was closed down…read more But maybe we should have left. Service was extremely slow. It took a server almost 20 minutes to even offer us water. When she finally came to the table, I told her we were ready to place our order since we had so much time to look at the menu. She said, "Oh wait, I need to grab a pencil and pad." That was a first for me. And then it took her another 5 minutes to come back. I got the steak chimichanga and it looked pretty plain. I was expecting it to be covered with sauce and cheese as I have seen at other places. But this was fine if that's how they normally prepare it. Surprisingly, I enjoyed it. The wrap was nicely fried and stayed intact when I sliced through it. It was also a very good portion size that I ended up saving it for the next day's meal. We waited a bit for our check to come but it did not so we got up and walked to the front in order to pay. And no, it wasn't a pay-at-the-front situation. Other diners had their check brought to them. The restaurant wasn't even full so I think service could have been better.
