We randomly saw this winery on our drive and stopped by. I really liked all the wine and the view was to die for. You could see all of Napa in the outdoor seating. Right in front of us there was a fountain and you could see the grapes in the field. Past the fountain you can see the Napa train cruising by! This place definitely had the best view out of all the vineyards and wineries we visited that day. The only downfall that I had about this place was the price of the tasting. Be prepared to spend a lot here. One wine tasting was $50.00. This was the most pricy out of all the ones we visited. However, if you are looking for a good view this is the place to visit. read more

I like this place buuut just a couple things... Came here with my husband and daughter with an afternoon reservation on a warm (but thankfully overcast) summer afternoon. The best part about this winery is really how beautiful it is. It's just absolutely stunning and what an experience to sip on some wine, while you sit and face a small field and water fountain. $$$: Even though we knew the tastings and wines would be pricey based on our research and other reviews, it still sort of gutted us when we got the actual bill and considered the overall experience. $50 per person for the signature flight, and the cheapest bottle of wine for purchase on the menu is their Sauvignon Blanc for $80. There are plenty other wineries in the area around the "$$" mark that I think feature more memorable wines and an overall stellar experience. I think if a winery is going to charge as much as this place does, the entire experience from the second you drive onto the estate has got to be blinged out. Parking: they have a quiet and private, stress-free parking lot tucked away behind valet after you check in from your vehicle. Wines: my husband and I were impressed with the Chardonnay reserve, which was crisp, buttery, rich, and fruity. All of the other signature flights that we tried were decent, but nothing wildly memorable. Service: I have thoughts...We were greeted kindly by the host, who was accommodating and friendly. *Also, when we arrived, the host said he had a "special surprise just for us" and gave us two complementary tastings of rosé to start off with...but then noticed that he did the SAME thing to every other table that he hosted lol. Not an issue, cause who doesn't love "free" things but it was funny cause we thought we were the *special ones* at first LOL. Now, what was more awkward was our server. While he wasn't offensive to us, he did have sort of an odd essence to him, in a way that he almost seemed as if he was mocking us, but in a way that he might have wanted to come off as relatable? But instead it was just awkward? Also, we overhead him greeting a party of ladies behind us and he said, "What kind of accent is that?" Uhhh....not sure if that came off as offensive to that group, but again, maybe that server is just really trying to relate but it comes off awkwardly? In the end, our server was strictly business, responsive, and quick with serving! You are seated a table here and the pre-poured glasses of wine are brought out to you instead of having a server watch you through each tasting -- I actually enjoyed this style instead of traditional wine tasting at a bar, as it kept interactions to a minimum so we could just enjoy our own company and ask questions as needed (and duh, cause Covid so I didn't wanna be around any strangers for that long!). A big reason we chose this place is because it's marketed as being kid-friendly. We didn't see any other children there when we went, but there is ample space for kids that I imagine to roam around, large seating areas for each party, and a nice view of a central fountain. Overall, a decent place to bask in the Napa skies with your family, a large group, or even solo (so long as you don't mind the high price tags and maybe "not-so-suuuuper-stellar-but-nothing-offensive" kinda experience! read more

We got to Napa a little bit early so decided to stop in for a morning wine tasting and split their least expensive tasting. We were able to sit and enjoy the view on their outside patio in front of their water fountain. It was a beautiful day and the perfect start. Our waiter provided a little overview of each wine we tasted and even gave us a complimentary sample of a wine off the flight menu we chose. They have three levels of tastings, the wine club membership affords you a free tasting for 4 of the classic or standard wines. Their wines are very well made. Their staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. I've never had a bad experience here. They really take their time to explain everything from where the grapes are grown to the different vineyards they own worldwide. We come here every time we visit Napa and we are never disappointed. Just visited Napa for the first time since I was a kid. This winery was my favorite during the visit. What a beautiful property. The gorgeous weather of course helped but indoor and out, the place is immaculate and relaxing. The staff, from the door greeting to our leaving, was so welcoming. John was our host and he reminded me of family. Our daughter was awestruck but the outdoor patio and water pond and was greeted with an Alpha Omega coloring book. The wine was beyond delicious. I highly recommend the Library tasting but if you have a chance; try a little of everything. Depending on your pallet, obviously preference to red or wine, you'll make your choices. I prefer whites but their reds were the best red wine I've tasted; hands down. The Era was my favorite, 2015 Chardonnay and the 2010 stagecoach Cabernet. This is one of the most beautiful settings in Napa to drink really good wine. Joe, the guy who helped us out with our tasting, was, hands-down, the best. We were there on a Monday afternoon and so things were pretty dead, but he ended up being more than generous with his time and knowledge. And also, the pours. Pretty sure we tried 12 or 15 different wines, though only got charged for the 4-pour tasting we signed up for. Go with a group of 4+ on a quieter day, and they'll be good to you. (Especially Joe. I'm not sure if it's the result of the pandemic or just a general decline in customer service, but my experience at Alpha Omega was truly lackluster. The host was late to join our table, he spent very little time with us to discuss the wines, and he even forgot the second wine in the tasting. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Napa tastings are supposed to be about the experience and the wine. The wines are fine, but the experience is poor. It certainly was not worth $75-100/person. read more

We had a wonderful time at Alpha Omega! It was our first time, and hopefully not our last. The grounds are lovely, with comfortable tables and chairs at COVID-safe distances; a large fountain/pool; and lots of shady trees and umbrellas. We were seated at a large table under a canopy with a view of the entire area and vineyards. Mike Bohlig led us through an incredible selection of wines, starting with two different Chards, an amazing crisp Rose, and ending with a wide selection of Cabs and Cab blends. Beautiful outdoor patio, wine was good but not worth the price, and services was below average compared to all the winery in Napa! I came here on Sunday at 4PM for a tasting with 3 of my girlfriends. We requested to be seated outside but the wait was 30 minute so we can not waited therefore standing at the bar for tasted testing. We choose the $50 since we are not exactly there for the wines but likely the beautiful patio outside views. There were 4 tables outdoor seating empty while we were but they refused to seated us there since they say they are for reserved. While we were there for 1 hour, it was still empty! The server wasn't good either, he seem to be bored at his pouring as it passed to us. He was the oldest one there. After the last pouring, we decide to go outside and sit at the empty table patio outside and enjoying grapes vine and the water fountain. Once enter the winery, you can have a valet parking for free or self parking. We decided self parking for faster in and out so we don't have to wait for the car. Parking was limited not a lot of spaces compared to other winery near by. Overall, the wine was good but not worth the price, some red bottles goes up to $700 each without the member. Services was bored and slow! The outdoor view was relaxing and beautiful but not worth the times coming here since other winery are much better! read more

3.5-4 stars. It's only get a click on four as opposed to three because my cousins liked it. It's not a bad one. It's smaller. It's quite nice. I highly recommend making reservations if you know you're going in advance because the outdoor seating area is quite lovely, more modern-ish. We went sort of on a whim. My cousin went here once years ago. They usually require reservations for a party of 6. It was just five of us that were trying, we tried the wines indoors because everything was already reserved. They have a lot of cabs. I wasn't particular about their reds honestly, but I'm just not huge on reds in general unless it's sweet like caramel. I'm still figuring and trying out different red though. But my cousins liked some of them and they actually got some bottles. This was my first tasting experience in Napa. read more

Exceptional wine, service, and ambiance! My husband and I have been to Napa a couple of times before, but this was our first visit to Alpha Omega. We were greeted promptly and tasted wines outside in front of a gorgeous fountain overlooking the hills of Napa. The service was incredible. We were lucky enough to work with Robin, who is also a sommelier. She was friendly, helpful, and extremely knowledgeable without being pretentious or stuffy (as some of the local high-end wineries can be!). The pours were generous, so prepare for that if this is one of your last stops :) The prices are on the high side, but worth every penny. Our favorites were the oaked Chardonnay, Era, and 2012 Cab Sav. We walked out as new wine club members. Highly recommend! read more

What a fun day! I took my mother with me on a mother/son day trip to wine country and after lunch in st helena we made it over to Alpha. To start, the place is gorgeous and inviting and the staff was so friendly. we were promptly sat down in the back right by the water fountains during an 80degree glorious march day. admittedly i was feeling bad as we were at least 15 maybe 20 minutes late but nobody gave us any grief or rushed us. the hit of the experience though was our personal wine sommelier Juri, what a guy! He walked us through the wines at a perfectly timed pace while essentially storytelling how the grapes are different in the different appellations with how the air comes off the mountains and other scientific reasons. was a great education. with the weather being so warm he was patient and amenable to moving around some of the wine options so we could drink more whites and arguably the best rose we've ever had. it was one heck of a fun and delicious experience. thanks again Juri! we will be back to make an appointment with him again soon! read more

Been a member at AO for 5 years and they are absolutely the best. I've come about 2-3 times and every time I've come to visit, they've treated me with so much love and support. This past Saturday, it was my birthday and I had my parents, in-laws, and my brother and his girlfriend with us. It started raining so hard and we only were going to visit AO. The team was able to move us indoors into the private room without any charge or issues. Now that's what I call service and treating their members like family. Amazing team, amazing place! There are so many wineries to chose from in the area and trust me, I know it's hard to chose just 3 or 4 to visit in one day. However, if you're looking for a beautiful view, relaxing time, amazing service and delicious wine, coming to Alpha Omega is a must! I've been to this winery twice and can't wait to go back. The first time I came here for my friends bachelorette. All of the girls had a blast. Last week I came here with my mom. Of all the wineries we went to, this one was her favorite (and mine too)! Shannon, the girl who was taking care of us, was just so great. She was super knowledgeable about the wine, extremely friendly and just so fun! She made this relaxing experience, even more relaxing. This was our first visit to the winery, although we have enjoyed their red wines elsewhere. The winery is new-ish, having opened in 2006. It was busy this day, but we were with club members and had an appointment for a private tasting. I expect this makes a big difference in your experience, especially in what you get to taste fir the price of the tasting. The grounds are beautiful and the outdoor seating facing the pond and huge fountains (5) makes for a lovely spot to enjoy a glass of vino. Once again, club membership makes a difference here, with shaded seating and free refills of the base wines. They source grapes from a number of high end Napa vineyards. The vineyard in front of the winery next to Highway 29 is mostly Sauvignon Blanc. Our host was a veteran of the area and the winery so we got lots of in-depth info and tasted through the entire portfolio. Wines are on the expensive side, but some of the limited release bottlings are stunning. We loved the cab franc and Thomas Cab offerings and snagged a few of each of these. Splurge for a few bottles of the limited release wines and see what winemaker Jean Hoefliger can do with great Napa grapes. read more

When I look back at this review after our re-visit today I almost regret the initial posting however I do believe in 2nd chances and that is what I will share today. Always loved the wines and today was a special day as it was my oldest daughter's birthday and we had a special day planned at a few wineries. Alpha Omega was our 2nd stop and boy was it a special event for both our daughter and others in our party. A major reason was the customer service provide by Joe our wine ambassador. What a difference made when someone shows they care about your party and making sure the visit was the best ever. That is how we felt from the beginning to when we left. Not only was the visit and service provide by Joe exceptional but the wines were incredible. So incredible that we decided to become wine members and plan on monthly visits. Now I don't claim to be a wine connoisseur but $50 for 4 wine tastings is a bit much. Sure the winery is gorgeous with a nice fountain out back and the waitstaff is friendly but again $50? I would not recommend it with all of the other places in Napa you can check out. For instance you can go to Robert Mondavi for a 90 min informative tour and tasting for just $35. I mean sure the staff gave us the rundown on the wine but when asked about the winery itself they couldn't give us answers, but that's probably what the tour is for. And for that price I would expect to have a new wine glass for each type of wine. Avoid! read more

First let me just say that my connection to AO winery is not that of a client or a member. I am involved periodically with the entertainment. I am here several times a year and I must say this is my favorite place in Napa Valley to perform. During the day, the weather is always perfect, the scenery of the hills is breathtaking and the food is always unique and delicious, Even for those of us who have dietary restrictions. This was our last winery visit and we ended up spending two hours here on a Monday morning because it was so nice. Our server, the weather, the grounds, the wine - all amazing! We were even lucky enough to witness and participate in the blessing of the grapes ceremony with their new head winemaker. We chose the standard tasting but the fees were waived since we ended up purchasing two bottles. Would definitely try the upper end tastings next time! The wine, tasting room area, and view are world class, but all that cannot excuse the poor service we received from our server. What would have been a 5-star experience was reduced to 2-star. My friend who is a member at Alpha Omega Winery brought us here to show off the wines and the views which we were not disappointed by at all. However, our awe and amazement was immediately brought back down to earth once our server (I think his name was Steve) arrived at the table. He was not attentive, treated us like we did not belong, and rushed us through our tasting. As soon as we sat down on the comfortable couches outdoors, we simply leaned back to take in the view and enjoy the experience. Then our server came over and told us sternly that we cannot sleep there -- fair enough. We assured him that we were simply enjoying the view. He did not introduce himself nor did he give us much information about the tasting. He simply just plopped down the tasting menu and walked away. 10 minutes later he came by to pour the wine. However, he did not tell us what he was pouring and began walking away, and it was only when we asked him what we drinking that he simply told us the varietal and a vague description about the wine. Same thing with the second tasting and third. Additionally, we were not even done with second tasting when he showed up to try to pour the third and the fourth tasting. We tried our best not to let his service ruin what was a beautiful day, but something was definitely up with this server. Maybe we caught him on a bad day or perhaps he was just not a great server. When we were close to finishing our last tasting, we mentioned that we'd like to order a couple bottles of wine but we'd need a minute to decide which one we wanted to order. Once he poured the last tasting, the server never showed up again. Eventually, we gave up on the idea of buying a couple bottles to bring home. It was only when we got up to leave and began walking away that he popped up out of nowhere to ask if we were leaving. We said yes and left with our hands empty and hearts broken. read more

We spent about an hour here during our minimoon in napa. Our driver had recommended it since we are big/bold red wine fans. It was a Wednesday afternoon and we opted to sit outside by the fountain. We had a great view and our server was attentive and definitely flexible. We were kind of on the end of our winery-hopping day and my husband was a little more than drunk... so I asked our server if we could just split a tasting and he happily obliged.
