On our trip to Napa, we went to several wineries. Alpha Omega was definitely the stand out. It's a very modern, bright interior and has a nice, woody smell. There are fountains and obviously, the vineyard is a sight to behold. We tried several different types of wines in our tasting. The Chardonnay was good, which was surprising because I'm usually not a fan of them. I'm not a fan of Roses either, this one was just ok. The Cabernet Savingnon was really great - it had a heavy coffee aftertaste which was nice. However, it wasn't as good as... The Proprietary Red, which was subtle yet complex - it's a combination of the best grapes from Alpha Omega. We bought a bottle and are saving it for a rainy day ;) We would go back to Alpha Omega, for sure. read more

One of our favorite wineries on our tour of Napa and my husband's #1 pick! We ended up here simply because we drove by it and it's beauty caught our eye. The grounds and tasting room are large and lovely. We opted to stay outside and enjoy the beautiful landscapes, water fountains and relaxed couch seating while we tasted, which was a total bonus. Bob served us during our shared $20 tasting which included whites and reds. This made me happy as I drink white and E drinks red. Bob was really informed and provided us with lots of details about wine making, grape growing and other notable facts. AO is definitely not a stop to missed. While it's not your typical "explore the grounds and taste from the barrel" wine tasting experience, I love this spot as the modern winery to relax and sit in the shade and enjoy the gorgeous scenery of the Napa hills and vineyards with some delicious wine tasting. It's a fantastic location, strategically near St. Helena and not too far from the Yountville scene with a lot of places to eat and drink around there. If you need a place to mix up the Napa rotation, this is the perfect spot. The Cabernet Sauvignon here is a crowd pleaser for sure - usually the last red you'll taste. Spend the extra $$ and go home with a bottle of that one, no doubt. If you're lucky, you'll get this gentleman named Yuri as your host and friend for the tasting. His energy and smile is the perfect complement to the Napa tasting experience, it's the trifecta - good wine, good views, and a perfect host (assuming you have good company too). Fellas, beware, though, if you're lady is on a girls trip to Napa, he's a natural charmer! In all seriousness though, request him (if that's a thing), because he really will enhance the experience as I have found their role is critical to a memorable Napa wine tasting experience. read more

Alpha Omega looks quaint from the road, but once you get inside you feel at home! The staff is amazing and they have an amazing outside patio with a beautiful fountain and pond. Its a great place to taste good wine and enjoy a beautiful day in the Napa Valley! My favorites: Rose sauvingon blanc and the infamous ERA! I think tastings are about $10 a person. read more

Fantastic wine tasting experience - so much so we went twice AND joined the wine club. The staff at AO were so friendly, welcoming, and knowlegable about their incredibly delicious product. If you're in the Napa Valley (specifically Yountville / St. Helena area) you should definitely check this place out. I would recommend calling ahead for reserved seating if the weather is nice outside - great view of the rolling Napa hillside. I just can't say enough nice things about this experience -- you think Napa wine region and you think wine snobbery, but we found it to be totally opposite of that (minus one winery that has the word ONE in its name...of which I will write a separate review...) Lovely cozy winery with absolutely friendly staffs. We didn't make reservations in advanced and haven't been member before so we showed up party of 6 including two kids... they gave us nice seats it was far from the little pool but was still beautiful. They made bring shade for us also. So what do you need glass of wine and good company!!! They have nice wine collections specially Era is amazing and worth a 250$. Highly recommend this place specially its family friendly and you can enjoy a wonderful day with your kids. read more

I think our 'waiter' was drunk and forgot about us quite a few times... we were seated outside and after the second tasting, he never came back. We had to go back to the bar every time we finished our glass. The wine itself was pretty good the second one i tried (it was a red) was my favorite. I couldn't find a coupon for this place at all, but since so many people had recommended it, we decided to try it. I thought it was worth it, my husband is still on the fence. $20 a tasting for 5 Bordeaux style wines....definitely worth the tasting considering the wines all started at $35 + a bottle. I LOVED their chardonnays, and a couple of their reds, but overall, their price range does seem a little high. The one chardonnay that I would have bought a case of had to be priced at $58 a bottle, which is not for everyday for us! We came around 3pm and it was super busy - no room on the patio so we settled for inside. We got Joe as our pourer, and he was great! Great conversation, struck a balance of still talking to us while he made time for others, and even poured us a reserve of something off the menu. You come here if it's 4pm and still want to go winery-hopping as it's one of the only ones open past then. As a result, there are a ton of people who swarm. For a wine appreciator, here's what to know: $25 per tasting, which isn't worth it (smallest pours I've seen and only four offerings). Waved if you buy more than $50 worth, but nothing jumped out enough to warrant any purchase. The Chardonnay came close, with a delicious buttery herb nose/taste that my wife and I liked, but the rest were unremarkable. The venue was nice though. Fun for groups. read more

My wife and I did a tasting at Alpha Omega after hearing from friends that it was one of their favorite tasting experiences. Any business can have an off day when slammed, and the winery was extremely busy. Our tasting experience suffered because of it. So why 5 stars? Upon returning home, we let the winery know about our experience. The responses we received told me all I needed to know about Alpha Omega. We were blown away by their words and actions. It's clear that our experience is not the norm. The winery went above and beyond our expectations to make things right, and we could not be more impressed by their customer service. Wine prices are on top of the list. Their reds are actually delicious. But I am not sure that I would pay $92 for a bottle. Their cab was my favorite. I would give 4 and a half stars just for the wines. Out of all the wineries that we visited, the staff was average and not offering all the great knowledge you want to hear when trying new wines. The place is beautiful, especially the outdoor area. Overall, it felt a little bit like a private club where everyone wants to be seen. I did not get it. read more

Today we had the pleasure of Javi as our educator. My girlfriend and I would highly recommend visiting this winery from their hospitality to the knowledge of their wines. The 2012 Chardonnay was outstanding on many levels as well as their proprietary blend. We also were able to try some of their single estate wines which were blew me out of the water! After having their 2012 Missouri Beckstoffer, I had to try the 2013 Era which the gentleman who was helping us out brought out for us straight from the barrel. My wife and I have become members of this winery about 6 months ago. Their wines (cabs) are some of the tastiest cans of Napa. We are complete fans. Amazing view, we were given a complimentary bottle and sat in front of the fountain during sunset. This place opened til 6pm, which is a bit later than most wineries. Great thing about their ERA Cabernet is that it's a blend of different Cabernet in the area, making each bottle pretty unique in taste. The patio was beautifully lit and there are many fire pits set up so sitting out side even after sunset was quite lovely. Definately worth a stop in any tasting trip if you are heading north of yountville. read more

Our first tasting was a walk in. They treated us like old friends and we joined their wine club. They have fantastic wines and we haven't regretted a single glass. Our second tasting was scheduled as a group of family and friends. We entered a room and found a spectacular table set for tasting. Beautiful glasses, small plates with meat, cheese and olives accompanied Rick's tour through their wonderful wine list. Rick then took us back to learn more about their operation and process. The people working in the back were as friendly as the sales staff up front. The tour included a couple strategically placed barrel tastings. Rick entertained throughout our visit. If our purchases correlate with our satisfaction then everybody left happy. :) AO was clearly a highlight of our vacation to wine country. Alpha Omega has always been a winery I wanted to visit as someone who works in the wine industry and recently moved to Napa. During these crazy times I didn't think I would be able to get a reservation and especially in such short notice (I had called 20 min before I wanted to come in). I spoke on the phone with their amazing concierge Elena and she was able to squeeze in me and two of my friends for a tasting. Upon arrival they were very organized and I liked how they greeted us and told us the new protocols. Our tasting host was Donatas and he did an outstanding job; telling us about the wines, his personal history in the wine industry and why he loves Alpha Omega so much. We came here one day on a Friday that I had off, and ended up joining the buyers club. Not only is it a fantastic deal, we're not committed to anymore wine shipments from them, but get all the perks of the membership. It's such a lovely property and their wines are just as lovely. This is a beautiful place to drink wine with friends/family. The setting (and seating) couldn't be more comfortable and relaxing. Unfortunately, we weren't a fan of the wines. The whites were ok, but the reds were too tannic for our tastes. And the smell of chlorine from the fountain interfered with our tasting. (Perhaps it was the wind direction, but the chlorine smell was overpowering.) I don't think we'd go back unless we were introducing friends from out of town to Napa for the first time, and we wanted them to have a pretty view. read more
