I had an entertaining and educational tasting experience at Alpha Omega. Party of 12 and they knocked it out for us... AO Tasting experience: Our tasting room had an extremely long table that seated us comfortably with plenty of space for our multiple glasses. It was a classy setup. Eric was our tasting guide and he was fantastic. He was witty, friendly, highly knowledgeable which lead to a great experience. After giving us some history on AO, we dove right into the wine tasting. Eric gave us some background on each wine and what made it unique. The cheese pairing with the wine was a fun and tasty experience. Bread sticks, nuts and water were provided to help cleanse the palate. AO Tour: Eric took us through the storage warehouse and tanks and it was a great social media moment for your followers. We were able to sample some wine directly out of a barrel and it was divine. We learned about the process and the storage procedures great stuff. I had to purchase the 2014 Proprietary Red. This vino was by far my favorite and it only can be purchased on site. The overall vibe of the winery was friendly and user friendly to the rookies and the veterans. Employees were always smiling and greeted you at every point of contact. There's a sitting area outside that overlooks a fountain and the grape fields which makes for another great pic opportunity. This is an incredible winery. Beautiful landscaping and off the beaten tourist trap. it's the place to go if you're looking for a unique experience and unique wines. Gives off four seasons vibes, which fair, because the owner used to be four seasons affiliation. This was my first wine tasting ever, and the bar has been set high! Started off with a complimentary rosé, and they explained that the rosé actually came from grapes that had to be harvested early due to the wildfires the prior season. As for the rest of the wines, I'm glad we got to try both reds and whites, and there were a couple that I really liked! The tasting menu really helped guide my group through the tasting, and it was fun asking each other if we smelled orange blossoms and tasted under-ripe nectarine in our glasses (we did!). Also, the free cheesy crisps that were provided with the tasting were so addictive - I'm pretty sure we ate half their supply by ourselves lol. Tasting here are by appointment and will see you back$50, $75 or $100 depending on which of three 4-wine flights you choose. The $50 tasting starts with an Oakey Chardonnay followed by two cab blends and finishing with a cab Franc. These wines are sold at the winery for around $100 each give or take so it's not a great deal - around a glass of wine in total for $50. If you want to have an absolutely first class wine tasting experience, come to Alpha Omega! The people here run a very tight shop, and the service is amazing. The atmosphere is very comfortable: the building has clean lines but is not the cold, stark architecture usually associated with modern. The art and furniture keeps it very warm. The outside grounds overlook a huge pond with spraying water fountains. We had a tasting with Joe in one of the private rooms. The table was beautifully laid out with high quality Reidel stemware. They also had plates of cheeses and Marcona almonds. The breadsticks are exquisite!! Their wines are world class. My favorites were the 2015 Chardonnay and the 2012 Cabernet. They also have some really interesting blends. The wines are all unfiltered, so they are super deep and full bodied. Great way to spend an hour or two on a warm day in the Wine Country!! read more

I was underwhelmed by Alpha Omega. Came here with my sister, who has a membership at a sister winery so we got the most basic tasting for free. The tasting itself is usually $75 for 4 tastings. We were surprised at the small pours especially for that price. We only really loved one of the wines we tasted, the rose. The other wines were pretty acidic and not as smooth for what they are priced at. The ambiance was nice, however it was one of the less laid back wineries I've visited in California. Our 10th winery visited in Napa. After 3 hours of drinking with K.R III we did a short pit stop to eat something and recharge our batteries. My GF called AO to let them know we were running a few minutes late, no problem. We arrived half an hour past the scheduled time, waited around 10 minutes and checked into a private tasting room. I can tell that being anywhere outside on the patio is even better because of the nice views and relaxing atmosphere, but we were referred by my friend Dr. Carlos Wolf who is well connected here, so Chris C, the manager of Wine Clubs left instructions of what was going to take place... Although this won't be the normal tasting most people will experience when coming here, it may be of your interest because I will cover aspects related to their wine and customer services: Before today, I only knew Alpha Omega wine by name, never tasted any of them. We started with some Unoaked Chardonnay, which I'm not a fan of, and the regular one which was good. Then Kathy suggested that we try their top, Chardonnay Reserve 2012 which was really impressive! From there we moved to some Pinots, then Blends and Cabs, until we arrived to the really good stuff; their SINGLE VINEYARDS CABERNETS. I believe we tried them all. There were too many and I had a palate fatigue since we were drinking since 11AM... What I can tell you without a doubt is that all of these wines are big, bold, powerful, with lot of personality, long finish and extremely enjoyable. Since January 1st 2018 I became a fan of AO wine! These are the Single Vineyards Cabernets we tasted and my ratings: 2015 AO Beckstoffer To Kalon (97) 2015 AO Beckstoffer Dr. Crane (97) 2015 AO Thomas (don't recalled) 2015 AO Stagecoach (91) 2015 AO Beckstoffer Georges III (93) 2015 AO Beckstoffer Las Piedras (93) 2015 AO Sunshine Valley (92) 2015 AO Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper (don't recalled) The decoration of the Private Client's area and Private Tasting Room are impeccable, low light, wood everywhere, classic chairs, and all-neat! The outside grounds are flawless as well. The wine glasses are topnotch, and their cheese pairings are excellent. Everybody was very friendly despite being New Year's Day and late in the afternoon. Our wine-guide Kathy Berez is definitely an asset for AO, she is very knowledgeable, has patience, and has a great personality for what she does plus a lifelong experience in the industry. This place is beautiful and definitely had a great view. Located along st. Helena , this winery is best known for their red wine. When you get there, you check in with a staff while you're in the car. You park and they will send you a text message when your table is ready. Our reservations was at 2 PM and we got seated around 2:10. It wasn't so bad. There were patio seatings located outdoors with a view of a beautiful water pond. We were treated very poorly. We had a reservation from Hotel Yountville for z4 o'clock tasting. My husband and I waited 10-15 min and than were put at the end of the bar standing. Since I am a senior I told the manager I wanted to sit and they put my husband and myself in an adjacent office for our tasting. I asked to sit outside since it was half empty and a dazzlingly day and was told they didn't have room . It was a totally humiliating experience and we left feeling totally disrespected. One of our favorite vineyards and tasting rooms. We arrived on time for our tour of the property and tasting. We were shown around the processing area which was humming with activity due to the harvest coming in and were able to observe the press, coopering, racking and other activities from only a few feet away. Our guide, Mike, was very knowledgeable, having been in the industry for decades, and provided interesting bits of information about not only the winery but the valley as well. After concluding our tour we opted to sit outside near the fountains since it was a warm afternoon and sampled their normal tasting of estate and single vineyard wines. The two hits were the To Kalon and Stagecoach vineyards. That was until Mike hauled out some older Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper vintages and we committed to a few mags of this and some 750s of the previous two. While their wines are pricy they are very approachable when young but can also age well so I planned to enjoy some this holiday season and lay a few down for whenever we want to re-experience this great property. read more

We must have come to the Alpha Omega on an off-day because our experience was our least favorite of our Napa Valley winery tour. You arrive to a required valet service, a unique option. I suppose it adds a touch but I'm fine parking my car at a winery and not tipping. The parking lot was a very short walk away but not an option. The indoor area is a large counter/bar with merch clothing on display for sales around the room. We opted for the patio because it was sunny and slightly chilly. We sat like everyone else facing a fountain that was turned off. The patio was comfortable with umbrellas and lounge hairs. Unlike other wineries, you really get no background about the winery, the process, etc. It's like a restaurant with people seated around tables in the outdoor area. The oddity was we sat at a low table while our wine guide Juri stood above us talking about a dozen wines before we started tasting. At one point, another customer came to thank him and say goodbye and when he asked if they were buying anything, she said no. Once the cavalcade of wine information was completed, we were left to taste the wines alone as Juri had moved on to other tables so we were alone and a bit confused at that point. There was no one to answer questions or provide more information. We didn't see food available, just water. Restrooms were lovely, spacious and clean. This process took almost three hours so we had to rush our itinerary a bit. Juri is super nice and jovial. He put up with us. We liked him until he disappeared forever to attend to other tables. They waive the tasting fee if you buy a bottle and we had a large order so that was a great option. We pledge to not return soon to Alpha Omega. read more

We wound up dropping our membership last year after I came in with a group of friends, with a reservation. The atmosphere has totally changed. My friends and I had such a great experience at another winery prior and then came to AO and it was horrible. Snobby, stiff, no warmth like before. It feels like they are trying to become this Beverly Hills hotspot and treating people (members/non members) very differently. Still good wine, but not a place I would visit again. Visited Alpha Omega Winery this weekend with a couple friends who work in the hospitality industry. The grounds are absolutely beautiful! There's a fountain in the back with great mountain/vineyard views (if you don't mind facing the road). Comfy seating and big beautiful trees lined the outdoor tasting space. Where things got a little strange was with the service. The guy who was doing our tasting made us feel a bit rushed. Also, the wind picked up that afternoon and the fountains, while beautiful, were actually spraying us with water as we sat at our tasting table. Again, the gentleman facilitating our tasting ignored the fact that we were slowly getting soaked like a day at the pool. Wines were pretty yummy though and we got to try white, rose, and red. Then Jesse (Jessie?) came by and within ten seconds of speaking with us realized we were getting sprayed and promptly turned the fountains off. Once we were done with our tasting, he took us on our tour and walked us through the wine production process (with the utmost professionalism). This was very informative! However, it's worth mentioning that the tour is about 10 minutes of looking at wine barrels.I think if AO could standardize their service, ditch the frat house jokes, and add some variety to the tour, this would have been a 5-star experience. read more

Alpha Omega Winery is one of many luxurious wineries that dot the St. Helena highway all the way from Napa to Calistoga and beyond. What sets Alpha Omega Winery apart is the modernity of the property with a huge tasting room as you roll up the driveway, with it's complimentary yet required valet parking, and the vast tasting patio and massive fountain for visitors and members alike to enjoy. Alpha Omega is also open seven days a week until 6pm, which in this area is becoming a rarity. I came with two people who were members of Alpha Omega Winery and who had to make their quarterly pick up of club wines so they were gracious enough to invite me along. They did have to make a reservation for wine tasting on top of their pick up because at Alpha Omega, they have an amazing landscaped patio area replete with gushing water fountain which makes for an incredible, yet very crowded experience, as members can bring up to two additional people per tasting room visit. The one thing that my friends complained about coming to Alpha Omega is they don't allow any outside food on the premises, despite the property being so inviting. So it's a more drink, enjoy the ambiance, and leave type of place. So with that in mind, we were all able to enjoy their Current Selections Tasting which at 50 dollars is their most affordable, which proves either they have really high quality wines at Alpha Omega or their overly pretentious. But hey we are deep in the heart of Napa Valley on a very easily accessible stretch of highway, so some things are to be expected. We first sampled the Chardonnay Unoaked, and I have to admit, I'm not a huge fan of Chardonnay due to the quality and overall abundance of these types of wines, but the Unoaked version of Chardonnay at Alpha Omega was pretty darn fantastic with its combination of pear, bubble gum, persimmon, mango and white chocolate. I think I could have slowly sipped on a bottle all day out on that veranda and been pretty content. Our second tasting was the 2014 Chardonnay, which wasn't as good as the Unoaked, but with hints of grapefruit, pineapple, mango, and peaches it had that certain tingle with every sip. Then came the reds, the 2014 Proprietary Red with notes of cherries, licorice and paprika had a soft tannic flavor to every sip, while the stronger in content the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon has notes of plum, sour cherry and even lemon meringue pie. Both were balanced but the Sauvignon as it tends to be was more velvety as it lingered on the palate. At a hundred dollars a bottle, I felt privileged to sip each of their reds as my curiosity was piqued on who exactly could afford these wines on a regular basis. Nonetheless I was able to enjoy my brief time that I spent on that esoteric and modern patio. We sat in covered area in cushioned outdoor chairs that overlooked a larger patio that had more than ample room for both bigger parties and tables for couple. All the while the fountains were blasting under the warm fall sun. Would I become a member of Alpha Omega? My wallet can't afford that. Would I return for a tasting? In a Napa heartbeat. read more

I made the mistake of going to brunch afterward (at a different establishment) and ordering a far inferior bottle of Chardonnay which my palate was too spoiled to enjoy.
