Decided to give this place a shot, since we so often default to Mission BBQ (which, let's be honest, reigns as the best bbq around). The storefront is a pretty generic strip mall. I was really hoping that that was going to indicate an "undiscovered gem". The inside has a distinct "bachelor pad" vibe: military surplus meets ikea. We arrived at lunchtime on a Sunday. There are only about six tables inside, which is probably for the best, as there was only one kid working the front. He was nice enough, but devoid of personality and made no attempt to be helpful. After sitting around for about 20 minutes, he finally took our order. Another 20 minutes later, he found someone to pour the beer that I had ordered, which arrived at the table about 2/3 full and with waaaaay too much head. The glass was also too cold, which doesn't help with the excessive head issue. It tells me that these guys really don't know what they are doing. About another fifteen minutes later, the food finally arrived. It wasn't bad. The pulled pork was actually pretty good, but they only have two sauces, which are very heavy on vinegar. The brisket was not bad, but not super flavorful. The fries were tasty, but arrived cold. All in all, the food wasn't bad. I failed to get a photo of the nachos which was a table favorite and worth going for. Service was slow and inept (no utensils, napkins, or individual plates until requested by 3 people...water not refilled), but in a bar atmosphere we didn't really expect much. The live entertainment didn't need the amplifier in such a small room. The food was tasty. The wings and fries had too much salt and pepper for my taste. All other flavors and dishes were good. This place is BANGIN! Great bbq, fast service and some delicious looking desserts. I got the cowboy brisket with crispy onions and honestly...I almost cried when I bit into it! It was SO GOOD. ** Bottom line up front - Check this place out for some great BBQ!! I was looking for something different to try and discovered Alpha Pitt Smokers via Yelp! (Thanks Yelp!) Tucked away in a small shopping center, you walk in to a nice open atmosphere with plenty of bar seating and tables. There are a few big screen TVs to keep you occupied while you wait for your food. Ordering is easy up front, grab your tableware, a few sauces (I think there are six), a few wet naps... and head to your table. I really like how the place is setup and I won't spoil the cool surprise of how they store it all (Major cool points from me). The kitchen was a buzz of activity and the front of house was pleasant and attentive. Well time to talk food... the most important part. This place has some great offerings and I will visit it regularly to sample all of it! For this visit I ordered the BBQ Lumpia for an appetizer which was very flavorful (You get two lumpia with tangy bbq sauce on the side). I could eat a dozen of them and be super happy as they are scrumptious!! For my main entree I tried their tacos, or what I would describe as burritos... Yum!! I say burritos because they are served in the 8" tortillas. Lots of great combinations that you create by picking your meat and then the style... I had brisket with Alpha Caviar which was Tex Mex style with black beans and also grilled shrimp with a bright citrus style. They were both delicious. I tried the tangy and spicy bbq sauces with the lumpia... the tacos didn't need anything... perfectly delicious! There are a variety of beverages to suit everyone and you can definitely bring the kids. Although I didn't have room I did see some desserts on the menu. All in all a great place for lunch or dinner and they do take out. My rating would be 5 stars except the trash bin should be located closer to the wall opposite the cash register, away from the ordering area. I'm stunned. I was so busy enjoying the food that I didn't take any pictures. That being said, this is hands down the best BBQ I've had in recent memory. Mark my words: I'm coming back, and I'm taking pictures next time. What we got: Pulled pork platter with cole slaw and sour cream and onion potato salad. Chicken thighs were like what you'd expect at some high level BBQ completion. The brisket was really good brisket. The mac and cheese had a touch of cumin or something and wasn't too sharp or overpowering with the cheese flavor; saucy and delicious. Pulled pork platter with green beans and vegetable medley. If you like green beans you'll love these. If you like roasted veggies you will ABSOLUTELY LOVE the vegetable medley. Do yourself a favor and check this place out. The waitress comes hands us the bag here you go.... we left assuming you had basic essentials to eat like silverware and napkins. Needless to say spent about thirty bucks on a meal could not even eat I wasnt going home and I dont keep spare silverware in my car... I called the manager since I thought this would be excellent training opportunity that was a joke he once she placed me on hold they hung up on me. I went to the Yorktown restaurant location today and....MAN THIS PLACE IS DELICIOUS! We came by to try it out because we had seen it driving by. I ordered the large smoked pulled pork sandwich combo with a side of jalapeno mac n cheese and my husband ordered the BBQ lumpia. The bread on the sandwich is very unique and better than any bread I had with other BBQ. The lumpia was so unique and very flavorful (think egg roll stuffed with BBQ meats). When we got home we inhaled it. I highly recommend the spicy BBQ sauce. Didn't try the other but THIS sauce compliments the food we had so we'll. We almost went back today to get more it was that good. I cannot wait to go back! I'll try to take pictures of my food next time to post but definitely check this place out. *Update* Went back again (this is like our 4th time - I have to have it at least once a week now) and order almost the exact same thing except I got the root beer baked beans which are really really good! Great BBQ, plus many other types of food to offer. I have had multiple different items from the menu and they were all good. The egg rolls are delicious. I wish they would come with more for the price, but I would still get them again. They are a full bar with many local beers to choose from. The service has always been great here, no issues. Their restuarant is small. There have been a couple times where we couldn't eat there because it was filled and there was already a wait. The food is on the higher side if you get their plates with 2 and 3 options, so be prepared to see a high bill. However, it's definitely worth it for the food. It hasn't stopped us from coming. They have a smaller, less expensive menu at lunch if you want to go that route. One thing that frustrated me, and it has happened multiple times, they run out of the food on their menu. This happens especially on Sundays, so we don't go on Sundays anymore. One thing that they do consistently run out of is the fried shrimp. I guess cause it's so yummy they can't keep up with the demand. But that is the only thing complaint I have with this place. You should definitley give it a try. read more

Working with Jason at Alpha Pitt was such a pleasure! The entire experience, from the responsiveness via email, to the tasting, to the actual wedding day, was top tier. I can't say how pleased and impressed I was with the service, food, and cleanliness on the daya of the wedding. We had our wedding in our backyard and we would have never known catering had been there after the fact! During the reception, they checked on my groom and I multiple times and were always so courteous. Afterwards I heard nothing but glowing reviews for service from the guests. The food was phenomenal! Our wedding took place an hour+ from their home base and the food was still hot and fresh when they arrived. I can't recommend the veggies, mashed potatoes, and herb crusted pork with mushroom sauce enough! We had a signature cocktail (Kentucky mule) and they used their homemade simple syrup. Would recommend giving that a try because it was so tasty. We had quite a bit of leftovers as well which made the value for the money so incredibly good. I cannot recommend alpha pitt smokers enough!
