I needed brake pads replaced on my scion before a cross country trip. I called first thing in the morning to see if they had any appointment openings for same day. Great customer service from the get go. Got in with no wait at 11:15am. Tony was very informative and took time to show me everything he found on his inspection. He told me the job would run me around $700-$800. I was prepared to eat that cost, but asked if there was any available discounts. That's when Jerry stepped in and informed me of the Groupon offering discounted brake pad replacement. He told me they would honor that discounted price, and also discounted the rotor replacements as well! Very kind! I was naturally prepared to leave my car for the day or even overnight for the parts to come in. Tony again made my day when he said they can same day order and receive parts so the whole job should take 1-2 hours. I walked over to a restaurant to get some lunch while I waited for the call saying my car was ready, and my phone died. I hurry back (less than an hour later) and find they are finishing up! The icing on the cake of this experience was the replacing of the brake fluid for free ($30 value). Thank you so very much for the great service and the bright spot on an otherwise stressful few days before this trek! SCAM like everyone else with a Groupon they immediately try to up charge you. My 2010 Prius only need 4 quarts of oil which is what the Groupon covers but instead the mechanic charges me $25 extra for 5 quarts and says I need a "special" filter. If I had read the other bad reviews about how they lure customers with Groupon I would've avoided them. read more

I haven't done a review in quite some time but this auto repair shop I most definitely feel deserves a positive review. my car was having a problem overheating and I had taken it to have it looked at by an repair shop and they could not even figure out what the problem was with my car overheating. Once I was able to have my car taken to where I live I then took it to alpha State Auto repair in Northridge. I have used alpha State Auto repair one time prior to this and I was very happy with the professional honest service I have received. they were able to locate the problem with my car overheating. I was verysurprised when they told me that the reason why my car was overheating was simply one small little fuse. I'm sure other auto repair shops would have took advantage of this and told me that it was something much more serious and more expensive but not alpha State auto repair shop. Alpha State auto repair shop will be the place where I will take my car for auto repairs here on out. When I dropped my 2000 Toyota Camry off on Saturday, the car couldn't have been in a worse condition. The owner was even shocked I was able to get it to the shop instead of using a tow-truck. After over 7 years of neglect, meaning no oil changes, tune ups, check ups, etc., it came back feeling brand new. Driving that car before was honestly scary and it felt like it was going to break every time I accelerated, and now i feel like im driving a 2023 Lexus! Major work on the axle and engine bay was done and by Sunday afternoon, the car was back in my hands. Initially, I just needed an oxygen sensor replaced to fix my check engine light and now its like I'm driving a whole new car.
