There are not many things better than sitting outside under oak trees while eating delicious savory food and enjoying a good wine or cocktails. Replaying last night's dinner in my head has me planning my next visit to Superette. Sunday brunch this weekend is calling my name. When you walk in for the first time, there are so many happy and healthy looking plant varieties. I can see that they are very well-cared for. Tom greeted us soon after we got in and even told us about the salsa night tonight and wine flight (tastings) they have available. We ended up buying a Superfine chocolate bar, a Buddha succulent, a bag of chips, and a can of Ghia blood orange aperativo. Tom h I really liked the fresh smell and homey layout of the place! I got the mojo tacos and for my chosen protein I went with the fried fishless filet. The two tacos came on corn tortillas with pico de gallo, queso fresco, pickled red onion, mojo sauce, and lime. Each bite was so refreshing! The lime gave a citrus kick to the sweet pickled red onions. The fried fishless fish was tender and flaky like real white fish. I was thoroughly impressed with Curia and think it's one of the most unique places in Gainesville. Check it out!

You could definitely make them at home. The lobster pasta was too overpowering with garlic and there was barely any duck in the duck and pork pasta. It was served with blueberry compote and Tillamook ice cream. The cake was perfect. Rich but not too sweet or dense. I do not normally like cooked fruit. And I have never thought to pair chocolate cake with blueberry compote. But my goodness the two went together so well! The ice cream made it even better. Now I know Ocala doesn't have a ton of fine dining. And yes. The price point of this place is a bit high. But it's a great treat for people like my mom and I who enjoy great food, service, and ambiance. I also want to point out the menu has some more adventurous options like kangaroo, python, boar, and other options that rotate. I pray this town doesn't let this place get shut down. I think they could keep the crowds coming by doing a tapas night, happy hour, or food and wine pairing event.
