The bagel shop is conveniently located just a 785 foot walk from the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad depot, making it an ideal stop before boarding the train. We arrived early in the morning, well before boarding time, so there was no crowd and service was quick and friendly. We both ordered the big breakfast bagel along with a beverage. The sandwich came loaded with egg, bacon, sausage, and cheese on our choice of bagel, and it was served promptly. A nice bonus was the 5% discount for paying with cash. Most importantly, the food was delicious. The bagels were fresh and flavorful, and in our opinion, far better than grabbing breakfast from the fast-food on the other side of the tracks. Some reviewers have commented on the prices, but given the location next to one of Durango's biggest tourist attractions, the pricing seemed reasonable to me. Convenience and location certainly add value here. The service was also great, the gentleman there in the early morning was super friendly, I bought a coffee and prepaid for a bag of donuts that I wouldn't want for a couple of hours, and he had no problem with it and was happy to make the donuts later in the morning whenever I was ready--- I'm so happy I did because the donuts were the highlight of my day.
