I called both, Alpine was able to help me on Christmas Eve, the other dealership was not available until Monday after Christmas. My person was Nicole, she was perfect for me! She was a champ helping me and answering all my questions. She stayed late into the afternoon on Christmas Eve. She adhered to her promise to not try to 'sell' me, as a sales person myself....I just wanted information and not be sold. We bought a car from them April 6th... just got the title from them may 19th. The car needs work fast but did not want to do anything to it until we got the title. Of course we were calling and calling asking about when the title will arrive plus wed already used two trip permits to legally drive it until we could register. During the time of asking about OUR title they were sarcastic, yelled, and had major attitude. Then on top of that all we get a late fee at the dmv for "late registration" because they put in paper work that they gave us the title the day of sale although that wasn't the case. Bought a Civic at Alpine Motors in June 2025. Sales process went super smooth. No wonder - they must have been in a hurry to unload this vehicle with an obviously cracked block on the first sucker who came along. Lesson learned. Most major dealerships do an "XX point inspection" on all their vehicles before selling them. Alpine clearly does not, else they would have never taken this vehicle on their lot in the first place. I totally get "As Is" used car agreements. A used car needs new tires, brake job, new thermostat, windshield crack repair, whatever. But an entire new engine? The engine IS THE CAR! Spend the few extra bucks and go to a dealership that at least has a look under the hood before putting it on their lot. read more

This place will sell you a broken car. I finally sold my car I got here to a pick-n-pull place recently. I bought it last year for $4,600 and about 3 weeks into driving it it fell apart in my drive way. The control arm was broken. This could have seriously hurt me if it happened not on my driveway. The mechanic told me there was a little over $2,000 worth of damage on the car and that it was full of bandaid repairs. The mechanic told me that I was sold a lemon. This dealerships solution was for me to see THEIR mechanic who sold me a car that could've killed me. Fast forward to yesterday I see a distressed women in a broken down car with Alpine plates that was pushed into a parking lot. She had just bought the car recently. She's a single mother that was all on her own in this state. These are real people that you are hurting. We both could have prevented this with getting an inspection before buying our cars. Alpine Motors - Newly bought broken down car from Alpine - Used Car Dealers Near Me - Milwaukie, Oregon

I researched on-line for an older vehicle with no accidents and good maintenance records. I found one at Alpine Motors. I hired a mobile mechanic to come look at it and they said it was running a little hot. That's it. The Car Salesman said that the coolant hose broke the day prior, and they repaired it. I purchased it for $4,300, the dealer told me "after" signing all paperwork that it was an "as is" sale. One and a half weeks later I was on the freeway, heard a POP and the heat gauge pinned in the red almost instantly. I was stranded on the freewasy on a very hot day until it cooled enough to limp it to a local mechanic who hooked up to a fancy piece of equipment. Found engine codes for bad solenoid, malfunctioning catalytic converter among other things as well as bad head gaskets which cause coolant to just spray all over the inside of the engine. Just to fix the over-heating issue (head gaskets, which was NOT a simple coolant hose issue) would cost $4,600 - $6,000. That doesn't include the money needed to fix the emissions so it would pass DEQ. I was only able to get $285 for this car in the condition it was in, and Alpine Motors took $4,300 for it, while lying about the coolant and overheating issue, and slipping in at the last minute after all signing, that it was an "as is" purchase. These guys buy crap cars and sell for way too much money to people who can't afford to waste money. Unfortunately, buying from Alpine Motors IS a waste of money. You'd be better off using that cash as a down payment on something from Enterprise ... who is a professional and reliable used car dealer. read more

I purchased/ traded a boat for a 2004 Toyota 4 runner, appeared to be clean and presented very well and drives nicely. With that being said, many things were not disclosed. First, the radio did not work (I later found that is a common problem with that 4 runner). Secondly, the sunroof does not operate, after further inspection I found that the sunroof was completely off track and disconnected as well as partially disassembled, also will need to be completely rebuilt with new tracks, guides and drive motor (starting at 1,000 bucks), most of the interior will have to be removed to get at it. There was also a brake line repair on the driver's side that was a completely inadequate repair and was leaking that caused the master cylinder to drain down (a huge safety Issue that needed immediate repair). And lastly, the frame is severely rusted in many places, holes that were quite large. I have already started on having the frame repaired. When I notified my sales guy the day after I got the car home he told me that "sometimes things fall through the cracks". He then offered to purchase a new stereo, nothing more.. In all fairness he did tell me about an exhaust leak that had been repaired and said he didn't know about a brake line repair. I realize I purchased a used car and should have had a prepurchase inspection, but I feel these items should have been disclosed and that these are not good business practices and will end up costing thousands more than just maintenance. I owned a business for over ten years and took great pride in transparency, customer service and customer relations. I am really disappointed in Alpine's sales practices. Pictures to come. read more

Worst. Ever. I responded to an ad on offer up for a 1999 Lexus sedan in great condition. I called and spoke to Eric for like 10 minutes in depth about why I wanted that exact car because it was almost identical to my pristine 2001 Lexus that was recently totaled. I told Eric I would be traveling a long distance to get there but would be there in around 3 hours. I rushed to the bank got the cash and drove straight there. So when I arrive Eric says he'll go get the car and then comes back with a 2019 Lexus sport coupe. OMG. My partner and i drove down to Alpine Motors from Seattle, nearing 200 miles. We rented a car, in preparation to buy a vehicle because we were serious about the car. Our first red flag should've been when we called prior to try and get everything figured out before we made the trip down, they kept saying they would call us back and never did, more than half the time they didn't even answer the phone. But we still decided to drive down giving the benefit of the doubt We got there and everything seemed fine, they greeted us, and allowed my partner to test drive. The second red flag to where we should have just walked away was when the car DIDNT even start and they had to jump the car, the salesman reassured my partner it was just the battery and nothing was wrong with the vehicle. My partner asked multiple times if there was anything wrong with the alternator, the starter, anything but the battery but again, the salesman who i think is named Eric told us that it was JUST the battery. He did say he would replace the battery, to which he did, and this leaned us more into getting the car. Again, we were very serious about purchasing the Honda. After looking over the vehicle aside from the starting issue, the tires were completely bald, almost showing wires and we tried to work out a deal about replacing the tires and they wouldn't budge. it should not have been been legally allowed to let us drive off the lot with those tires as we had to drive another 200 miles back home to Seattle. After this we really should have left, but again we spent 3 hours driving down to oregon and didn't want to walk away empty handed. Before my partner could think of anything Eric said they were already pushing and applied for the loan and my partner felt pressured and rushed through the whole process. We tried getting the price down as we knew it was going to cost us a lot to put into it just for the BASIC necessities for the car to be even remotely SAFE to drive, but one of the other salesman's chimed in and said "don't even fu**** sell them the car if they want to keep asking for a deal" how professional. I asked my partner to ask the salesman if they had a limited warranty on the vehicle, because again we were driving 3 hours to home and if we got home and the car broke or if we were on the way home and the car broke down, but the salesman assured us everything was fine but if a problem did arise we should call them and they will fix the issue. since we didn't want to be out X amount of dollars I asked for it all in writing that they would fix the car if an issue arises. The salesman refused saying they won't write anything on paper and it's just a sign of "good faith" and that we should trust them to fix an issue if something like that happened because thats how they run there buisness. the salesman said that if the vehicle breaks or something goes wrong that we can give them a call and they will fix it. low and behold not even two full days into having the car it doesn't start and we have to replace the starter, that's over 300 dollars right there on top of the 1000 for alignment and replacing the tires. My partner called the dealer (Eric) and it was the RUDEST and most DISRESPECTFUL phone call we have ever had with a salesman, a complete 180 from what we had in person. They turned everything around on us saying how dare we contact them with an issue as we got a discount on the car and "if we had paid full price for the vehicle" things would have been different. And that this isn't a "major issue" NOT A MAJOR ISSUE? The car doesn't start, period! Seems pretty major in my book. To NOTE!! The car ALREADY was OVERPRICED by 2000 dollars. Eric had told us to trust his good faith and they run a honest buisness. What a f******* scam of a place this is, We are stuck with a car that doesn't start, we are praying it's just the starter, but car loan aside, we are almost out 2000 just to fix and replace things the dealership refuses and refused to replace. purchased 350z was told it was inspected 2 times and all was well on my drive home i got a check engine light for o2 sensors then i got a fifth gear grind due to bad synchros then my clutch started going out then i got it in the air to work on it then noticed the skid tray was only held on by zip ties after removing It had a leaking rack n pinion blown suspension bushing a bad rear alignment causing the inner tire to be on wires and the outer portion to look just fine. When called to get help was told there was nothing that can be done. Also the detail was horrific i have holograms all over the paint due to improper decontamination pre "correction". During the process the striped a bold from my seat and they didn't let me know they just hid the bolt under the seat. I am going to report these crooks literally everywhere I can. They have to have the engine totally redone amongst MANY other issues with the car. Just bought a 2008 Honda accord lx and they appoxied the drain plug in because the oil pan threads where worn to shi so i had to buy a new one. The sun roof got stuck open. The power steering pump went out in two days of having It. Car wasn't worth half of what I paid for It (5k) unless you want a car you are going to have to work on go somewhere else. Do not buy here. And especially don't get your car fix there. I bought a car in 7/2023. With the check engine light on, and a couple other things that needed to get fixed. They told me if I got the repairs done there they would give me a great deal, repair whatever reasons the check engine light was on for free, and give me a discount on whatever else needed to be fixed. So I bought it. I brought my car in twice. Both times leaving it for about 5 days. Every time I picked it up,nothing had been done to fix the check engine light problems(meaning it was still on) I have photo stamped proof that I texted to them. I would have left it longer but he have such poor communication and I couldnt afford to leave it any longer. He told me both times he didn't know why the check engine light was on but he had a couple other things he could try. He also said I could go to AutoZone and have them scan it. The last time he said he couldnt work on it because it was to hot(he told me this after it had been there for 5 days). I went it today 10/2023 with a print out from AutoZone and they told me that because it had been 5 months they would no longer honor what they said and that it didn't matter that I had already tried 2 other times. I had/have texts from both the mechanic and the woman who sold it to me Mercedes. Confirming what I said above. He didn't even fix any of the things I was going to pay him to fix either of the times,saying he needed to figure out what was wrong with the check engine light first. I found out today he has had the same scanner that AutoZone has this whole time and they tried to tell me that he did fix what they said he would. When he told me he wasn't even sure why the light was on and told me to go to AutoZone. Luckily I didn't have to go through DEQ this time to get my tags after buying it but my car is a ticking time bomb now. I'm a single mom and I work just like most people. It was expensive to drop it off and leave it for so many days to just have him say he couldn't work on it because it was to hot. Then to be told by some guy who didn't help during any of the process that they did fix it, and all those things that need to be fixed now must be new. When I was told and texted that it wasn't fixed and that he didn't even have the scanner that he DOES ACTUALLY HAVE. I'm extremely frustrated and feel very manipulated. This business sells vehicles that DON'T pass DEQ. It's illegal in Oregon for a dealer to sell a vehicle that won't pass DEQ. If consumers don't know the law, consumers will be paying for expensive repairs to get a pre-owned vehicle to pass DEQ to enable transfer of the title. Consumers are often older (sometimes female) buying pre-owned vehicles with few resources and are vulnerable. There was unfriendly negotiation - verbal intimidation tactics - to dissuade their customers from resolving major problems with the transaction. Transaction took WEEKS to resolve. The person who resolved the issue for me (after a lot of back and forth) paraphrased things back to me that I neither said nor asked for (gaslighting) and this is a tactic to prey on the good nature of a customer who wants to be civil, polite or who may not want to "make waves". I was maligned for advocating for my purchase, I was accused of interfering with a profit margin and they were VERY vocal about losing money on the transaction when THEY HAD NOT done their due diligence by OREGON law. I would NEVER do business with Alpine Motors again and would characterize the sales rep's demeanor as abusive. read more

I purchased a SUV from here a few months ago and within 3 weeks of having the car and only putting 50 miles on it the check engine light came on and 80% of the time the car wouldn't even turn over and if it did it would misfire and sometimes completely shut off while driving. As well as the A/C stopped working 5 days after buying the car. I took it to Nissan dealership (hence the suv being a nissan) the mechanics had told me my AC electrical was fried and the wires that weren't completely melted were wrapped up in scotch tape. They also said 2 cylinders were miss firing. 3 out of the 6 spark plug wells were filled with old sludge like oil and metal shavings which is why it was misfiring. This isn't the only vehicle we've purchased from here my father bought a Acura from here and within 6 months of him also barely driving it the car completely died and it was more to fix the issues with the car than it was to buy it. read more

Alpine Motors AKA Issy Auto Sales, AKA Mericars, These Craigslist Car sales folks are the reason you see so many repeated cars on all the auto websites. There are at least 5 other "Companies" on this lot. It's a scheme where they are all listed as independent contractors so the lot can limit liability while not having to offer the sales people benefits. I worked with Issy and purchased two cars in cash. As I sat in the office one of the sales clowns was losing a sale because he didn't show the customer the Carfax and then asked them to sign a doc that said he showed them the Carfax but it was after he took their money which had some $300 non refundable charge that he refused to give them back. I should have walked right then. Today is 12 days after the purchase and there seems to be some problem getting my title for one of the vehicles. I was offered an additional trip permit until it came and we would meet at the dealership in 30 minutes. It takes me 24 minutes to reach the dealership. As I enter the office, 24 minutes after the initial phone call, I watched as Issy got into a pickup. I told one of the other amatuer auto associates that I was there to see him, and pointed out the window at Issy now backing up. He calls Issy and I watch as Issy stops at the gate to receive the call. Then he drove off. I waited for about 15 minutes before I asked the guy that called him where he was. He said he left to get a part and he would be right back. At this point a began to raise my voice in frustration when the taller smooth brain waved his hand in a "lower your voice" gesture. I told him not to tell me to calm down. This was followed with him trying to explain that he never used the "words" calm down as if body language isn't a language. At which point the older soft skull shouted "you have to give respect to get it". Is that a two way street then soft skull? Because it seems like you and your colleagues represent each other. If one of you makes a mistake it's on all of you. This has been some of the worst customer service experiences I've had to date. He told me not to worry and if he needed to keep mine longer he would provide a loaner then he disappeared & I heard no updates when I reached out he ignored multiple messages then said he went on a trip out of town and just didn't bother to tell me. Two days later he said it was fixed and good to go, another week went by the EXACT same issue came up meaning all he did was clear the engine light. I asked him if I could just swap the car for a new one and he said he does swap but he'll only give me $2000 out of the $4400 I paid to go towards a different car just ONE month after my purchase.
