I have struggled with my feet in ski boots for as long as I can remember. I have a neuroma in one foot, which probably came from a ski boot that was too tight, long ago. I have bought 2 pairs of boots in the last 10 years, one for over $700 in a "custom" bootfitting place in Telluride, only to be in worse and worse pain. At my husband's suggestion, I met with Brian U. in the Fairfax location, dubious as ever, and he assessed my situation. He spent SOOOO much time with me. Ultimately, he talked me into yet another boot, but this time Atomic, since they had a moldable outer shell, and he got me a lot more room in my boot to accommodate the neuroma. I told him that if I went to Colorado over the holidays and did not have terrible pain (for the first time ever), I would write him a review on Yelp. So here I am!! I walked into the shop on a Sunday to buy a ski package and I was very impressed with how knowledgeable the staff was. They hooked me up with a great package and even knocked off a few hundred bucks. I walked out for just over $1300. But that's not the best part. I went to a ski resort the next Sunday and soon discovered that I had the wrong boots; they were squeezing my feet to the point that they were cutting off circulation. I called the ski shop and they told me that I could exchange the boots for new ones, no questions asked. In the meantime I rented a pair of boots and continued skiing. A couple days later I went back to the store with my boots to exchange them. One of the staff remeasured my feet and picked out a pair that was a little bit wider, and felt much more comfortable. I also chose a pair of inserts and he threw in a free pair of ski socks. They also gave me a lift ticket voucher good for all day at a certain ski resort. When the exchange was finalized, they actually owed me about $10. I love this place! read more

I called the shop mid morning one day to inquire about quad skate wheels for derby. The staff were fairly knowledgable even on the phone and also when I came in around noon that day to see their stock in person. They didn't have quite what I was looking for. But made every effort to see if their sister store sis or if they could get me set up with something that day. They did an excellent job at helping me out and got me set up with some wheels and bearings while I was there! I appreciate their helpful and friendly nature! read more

I have been going to Alpine Ski Shop for 20 years. I actually bought my First and only set of ski blades here. The owners have Generally been very nice and I have had my blades tuned here numerous times. Recently I had been doing my research on changing non-breakaway bindings which are very dangerous to break-away bindings; which, can make blades the safest equipment on the mountain. I called alpine to ask about this and gave an exact description of my gear and I also told them I lived an hour away now so I just wanted to know if I was wasting my time or if this was something that could be done IE. changing the bindings. They were very nice on the phone and said it shouldn't be an issue and to come on down. They told me the price would be about 140 since I purchased them there. I went to Alpine today (1/12/2020) and I was treated extremely rude. At first when I showed up I was told "yeah man, should be good". The man who said that, told Casey ( I believe to be the guy who handles equipment mounts and such) and told him what bindings to use. I waited for 15 minutes. Casey then came to me and said, "so what are we doing", I le him know that I wanted to add break away bindings to my blades and he scoffed at me. He gave me a bunch of excuses and was extremely rude. He said no chance and was acting like I had insulted him by asking this, he said we don't even sell these things man, and I said yes you do, you have a pair here, he said well the damn things just collect dust, and tossed my blades to the side, rudely said no again and walked away. I understand If that particular ski blade couldn't accept the binding, but I gave them the exact size, make, and model, along with boot size before I drove an hour with 2 kids. If it couldn't be done then I understand but I was ready to spend about 300 dollars and more future business but instead I was treated extremely rude. I called in at 7:50 and I was 10 minutes away. The guy on the phone said knock on the door if I'll be quick. I was in the store u too 08:30 pm, 30 minutes after closing and everyone was so patient. Picked up my snowboarding boots from here and I am very happy with them. They had a lot to pick from and the sales guy helped me pick out some which would fit my style of riding. They have a very good collection of snowboards too. Will definitely go back for my snowboarding needs. read more

There's not much I can say that hasn't already been said by the other 5 star reviews, this place was great. I would like to specifically mention Tony and Gilbert for their fantastic service. My family and I came in to purchase our very first set of skis/boots and the time and care they took to make sure we got exactly what we needed was some of the best customer service I've ever seen. We had a strict budget (there were four of us!!) and with their help we were able to stay pretty darn close to that budget and get some great gear! I came here to get fitted for/purchase ski boots and was expecting a tiny, overpriced ski shop with a limited inventory- I could not have been more wrong! Alpine Ski Shop is large, well organized and clean with more selection than I could have hoped for. After walking in, I wandered over to the boot section and was immediately helped by one of the salespeople, Will. He was EXTREMELY knowledgeable/attentive and helped me get fitted for the proper boots, giving me a number of options and not rushing me in the slightest. Also notable is that he did not have me try on anything that was out of my stated budget which was greatly appreciated. I have a tendency to ask a lot of questions and he had an answer for all of them- I learned a lot about the technical aspects of skiing in the time I was in there! I noticed another person working giving the same consideration to another customer so it seems that good customer service is across the board (this is just me speculating!). As I also needed a new jacket, I figured I would browse their apparel selection just for kicks, not expecting to find something but was surprised to find that the sale section at Alpine is great (in addition to all of the newer gear/apparel) with lots of choices. I ended up purchasing a REALLY nice jacket on sale for nearly half of MSRP in addition to the ski boots.ohhh, how my bank account must hate me. Carrying all the brands you would expect to see in a ski/snowboard shop and more, Alpine is definitely my new go-to place for anything I need related to snowsports. Will informed me that they do everything (tune ups, waxing, adjustments, etc.) so I will be bringing my skis in to get adjusted in the next few weeks. So I searched online for closest stores with the best prices, found Alpine Ski shop and called them about a snowboard that they were selling that was on sale. Trent, the individual I talked to, took my height and my weight over the phone, and discovered that they had the board I was looking at in my size on sale. Superior customer service experience in picking out a ski kit (skiis, boots, bindings, accessories). The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful, and took the time to assure I had the right gear customized for my skill level, build, etc. Even though the store got busy, the staff was able to adeptly help everyone. It is clear that they care about the customer here. I didn't do any comparative price shopping before shopping here, so prices may be a bit high, but most items were on sale, and the store has a vast in store inventory. A family owned business since 1971, the long track record as a small business proves its success. I was looking for some new tennis shoes on an unrealistically small budget. I stopped by Alpine just to see what they had on sale. I talked to the manager (I assume -- I think his name was Tony), who was obviously an avid tennis player, for a little bit, and I casually mentioned that I was on a small budget so I was probably just going to browse. Their prices are reasonable but I am super cheap, y'all. He suggested a pair for me to try on. They were not on sale, but I tried them on and liked them a lot, and he told me they were mine for a generously discounted price like it was no big deal! He was super friendly and down-to-earth about the whole thing. Honestly customer service doesn't get better than that. So I will definitely be coming back here the next time I need to buy some tennis gear -- not because I got a discount, but because of the good and honest people running the store. This ski shop could not have been any better. Went there to buy some boots (Burton Ambush for snowboards) because no other shop had them, and I'm glad this was the shop that did. To start off: outstanding service. These people working there were two brothers, Travis and Tony, and each provided a different outlook on all the equipment and really knew what they were talking about. I've been riding for 3 years, and any questions I had they answered truthfully and gave you different perspectives. You could ask them any question you wanted, and they would be more than glad to answer. Also offered great advice. I knew what kind of boots I was going to get, but not the bindings. They helped me pick ones that would suit my riding style and reliable ones as well. Secondly: amazing stock for accessories. If you want to get a board/skis, I would suggest online anyways because less scratched up and more customized; however, they nailed it on boots, bindings, and storage bags. Had a huge selection of bindings, great choices of boots, and excellent display showing each. They also had different types of storage bags in different colors. Lastly: prices were standard, no markups, and sales on pretty good equipment. Overall, much better than any ski shop I've ever been to, and I intend on returning for future purchases. read more
