So I used to come here quite often until I noticed a trend in who couldn't and could actually…read morehandle the small animals. So I scaled my patronage down a bit. Fast forward to today. My husband told me about some smaller bunnies he'd seen in there a few weeks ago. As I own a few New Zealand Bucks. Personally my trip in today was for a live feeder rat for my 6 year old ball python. Needless to say I saw two little bunnies behind a little girl who was sitting on a bench who actually wasnt even aware they were behind her because I asked were they hers and she said no. So then I asked the young lady at the counter could the bunnies be held or pet and she said yes. Soon as I go to pick up a bunny another lady who 1. Fails to even identify whom she is states Oh no you cant hold it, but you can pet it. So let me get this straight as a potential customer I cant hold an animal I'm potentially interested in?? So how many people go to buy a car and just purchase it right off the lot, no test drive? I'll wait... My point is every time I come into Pet Paradise I'm being told oh you can pet the bunnies or the ferrets but you cant hold them. Mind you I've seen "others," allowed to do just that. I've owned every animal mentioned previously in my 40+ years but it appears only certain people have the privilege here to actually interact with potential furbabies. Whelp they say word of mouth is the best form of marketing so figured I'd put the word out because it's a reoccurring theme I'm quite tired of and figured I'd let folks know about the fickle behavior of oh peep this the supposed manager who "Can Do what she wants," as I was told by the young lady behind the counter. Now last I checked a manager wasnt the owner but hey what do I know? I just need to find a better pet store with similar or BETTER options closer to me in Suffolk. Nobody buys cars without test driving, nobody adopts a dog without interacting, so why am I limited to petting a rabbit only and not holding it, but told oh you can hold it if your intentions is to buy one by the young lady behind the counter.. whew I could say so much but trust me I dont think I have to.

When we made it to the bird section, I was literally reaching for the sanitizer and the man demanded we put some on, and got mad at me for replying "I'm perfectly capable of reading " I'm new to the area ,and don't know if we will be returning to spend money in an establishment that acts as if they don't want you there. Super cute animals though!

There are signs on the cages that advertise some sort of special sale price for a puppy. I would rather adopt versus shop for a dog but I decided to see what it was like for the animals inside being that I am a dog lover. I didn't see any animals in distress, all appeared to be ok. The store was packed with people, it was definitely crowded for such a small store (no social distancing here at all). There are several dogs up for purchase, all were puppies of large and small breeds alike-a variety of well known breeds. All of the dogs cages appeared clean but were very small. Most dogs were sleeping, some were trying to play in their tiny environment. There were several cats, all appeared depressed but appeared cared for. There are a few small enclosed areas where you can sit with a dog or cat in case you are looking to buy one. I will never be back as I do not support such establishments.

I was discriminated against for my disability. The dogs would be in small kennels covered in piss and feces. Dogs always getting sick from improper care and the dust from the shredded paper. When switching dogs from their kennels, they just s***** them out and put them in another kennel, without proper care to give comfort. And when I tried to give comfort, I got lectured for it, I don't believe dogs should be kept in a state of fear.

I have been here several times now, and my most recent visit was on September 10, 2025. Since the business is in a shopping center, parking isn't too hard to find. There are a few spaces reserved just for customers, most likely since it can get busy with a movie theater and other businesses around. The outside of the place is easy to see with the big green lettering. The first time I came in was due to getting a coupon in the mail. I figured with the coupon it would be worth checking out. The inside is pretty big. They have full grooming and self-grooming for pets at the back of the store. My dog likes the FreshPet type of food, so that was a good thing to use the coupon on. After my first visit, I also joined their rewards program. I have been getting coupons since, so it definitely keeps me coming back in. Whenever you come in, there is so much to choose from. The is also a display with items that are further discounted, primarily since the best by date comes up soon for food type items. My mom was with me on the most recent visit. On this visit, we had a coupon for 40% off an entire purchase, including those already discounted or on sale. This worked out great. We got several rolls of the dog food since they are good for a few months. Pet toys and treats were the primary items we looked at after getting the food. We ended up getting a few more than planned at the discounted display. We ended up saving almost $80 in discounts that day. Overall, the staff have been great here when we have come in. The one thing to note is that if you have items that are discounted, they associate has to get a manager to do it. It can take some time for them to come up after summoning them. Regular prices can be a bit higher than you can find at other stores, but the coupons help match those amounts again too. If you are looking for pet items, this place is still worth checking out.

I was not going to write a review but my experience there just hasn't sat well with me…read more I went in a couple days ago with my kids because I am looking at switching my dogs to a raw food diet. This place came highly recommended. We walked in the door and I was looking in a fridge. There was a dog in there with someone with a service dog harness on. My kids took a couple steps towards the dog (still about 6 feet away). The dog started barking and lunging at my kids. He was on a leash thank goodness. I yelled at my kids to come to me and yes when we got in the car I reiterated to them the important of not approaching random dogs and asking before trying to pet. I walked through the store to see what they had as I had never been there before. We walked back towards the front and I looked through other coolers they had. Making sure my kids stood by the front door as I did this. The dog started barking and freaking out again. I felt so uncomfortable and honestly worried about my kids safety that we just left. Never once did someone ask if they could help me, ask what I was looking for, maybe come up and apologize for the dog going nuts. It was just a bad experience. Let me end by saying I get every service dog has a different job and maybe protecting his owner is what his job is. But to react that aggressively and whoever was handling him sounded like they were having a hard time getting him to stop. That dog shouldn't be brought out in public. Seeing other customers walk in the dog should have been put in the back or taken out to the car or something.
