I love Al's! I moved to Franklin last year and quickly found Al's to be the perfect delivery business. Their food is delicious! I have had pizza, calzones, spaghetti, chicken fingers, and fish and chips, and they are all tasty. The ordering is easy, the prices are reasonable, the man taking orders is pleasant, and the 2 delivery people I have had are kind and quick! Typically, Al's will say it will be an hour and bam! Twenty-25 minutes later, my food has arrived. My only mini-complaint is that they don't use fresh mushrooms. Other than that, I am a 99% fan. read more

While waiting for my ride to be serviced, I stopped in at Al's Village Restaurant for some takeout. The place itself has a pretty old school atmosphere divided into a casual takeout area with several tables for eating-in on one side and a full service lounge in the next room. The menu offerings include pizza, calzones, grinders, appetizers, pasta dinners, chicken fingers, steak tips, and fried seafood. The prices here are pretty reasonable, most items under $10. I ordered a small Hamburg Pizza ($6.25 plus tax), which was ready in about 20 minutes. The pizza itself was on the messy & greasy side topped with plenty of browned cheese and hamburger pieces. Definitely do not recommen, I moved to NH 4 years ago and had a pizzia from this place and the driver took 2 hours to get here plus the pizza was burnt and cold. Fast forward about 4 years to the present day, my friend wanted grinder from Al's so she gave me her bank card and sent me to Al's to get it. so I paid and went home, fast forward agin about 3weeks later my friend gets her bank statement and her account is over drawn because Al's charged the card a 10 dollar tip that I did not give permission for. Well now my friend thinks I'm not telling the truth and it's because of Al's pizza. Definitely not a flashy interior. It is simple and utilitarian, but works. I have since concluded they decided to concentrate on the menu instead. WOW, just wow. First time in with a group of friends and we have been talking ever since about a) the choices we made and b) WHEN are we going back?? They have a full menu of pizza, calzones, grinders, etc. The calzone I had was in a hearty homemade bread and stuffed to bursting. It was actually HUGE so I wasn't able to finish it - they provide containers for taking stuff home. I just can't say enough about how amazed I was at the experience. I've given them several chances with a few different meals and always the same result. You get there 20 minutes after ordering, and they complain that they are so backed up that they haven't even started the order yet. When you finally get the food, you wonder why the price is so high. Especially once you see/taste it and realize you just shelled out significant time and money to get the same quality that you would get from the frozen food aisle of your local grocery store. read more

I would really stay away from this place at all costs. There are so many things wrong with this place. Food: One star at best. Just about all the items are fried frozen foods and pizza with no taste and a nasty dried out crust. You do get a nice view of the kitchen from the order window and you can easily see the disgusting build up of grease, crumbs of old food and cobwebs all over the place. The kitchen staff used no gloves and did not wash their hands when handling raw food, cooked food and money. The person from the kitchen who approached us was just as disgusting as the state of the kitchen. His hair was greasy, sweat was dripping down from his face, and I could smell the overwhelming stench of body odor that overpowered foul food coming out of the kitchen. He greeted us with a less than friendly "what do you want". After seeing the state the kitchen was in I didn't feel bad about not ordering. My wife and I figured we would sit in the bar area and try to find out what else is open that would have semi ok reviews online. I mean, how could they mess up a bottle of beer, right? The first thing I noticed is a black carpet. If you look at the edges you can see the carpet used to be blue. But now it is a solid "grime black". The chairs and bar stools are all ripped and some are taped together. The bar itself is covered with a sticky film. I noticed a video poker machine in the corner with chairs stacked on top of it. I asked the bartender about them and she told me those were not poker they were video games... and they were broken. Not less then 15 minutes later someone walked in, removed a chair and started to play the machine. It was a gambling machine, not a video game, and I guess it does work, but only if you are a local. The other people in the bar were men that were all ready pretty drunk for being so early in the evening. They were a rowdy bunch. They were shouting swears non stop and pounding drinks as fast as they could. I would have assumed at least a few of them should be shut off but the bar tender didn't seem to mind. She was swearing right along with them and she was pretty content to be the center of attention for the locals. She was not rude to me or my wife, she just didn't pay attention to us other than her telling across the bar once in a while asking us if we were doing ok. One sorry sap moved his spot to next to my wife to chat. He stumbled sitting on his stool, he stumbled grabbing his drink. He reeked of booze and dope, and started this incoherent babble neither of us could understand. It seemed harmless, just sad. It was actually a few minutes of entertainment and then his buddies told him to move back to his regular stool and "leave those guys the f**jk alone, you don't know them". In his state I would have assumed they would have given him a water, coffee or something like that, but they gave him a new beer and a shot. For the safety of everyone on the road, I hope none of them were driving. Not a single person in the bar except for my wife and me could pass a dui test. Just as we were paying to leave someone decided to crank up the juke box with some death metal, thrash metal or whatever nasty sound was. I don't know if they had the music as loud as it could go but it was pretty close. This place is am embarrassment to Franklin and I have no idea why it is still open. read more

Al village has a great "Greek style" pizza - love the x tea pepperoni and xtra cheese- and the hand battered chicken fingers are literally to die for ! Not fancy , not refined , and they don't care - but excellent and friendly service - definitely a great "go to" when you're craving a great pizza - and more ;) read more

Well Al's just goes to prove a starving man will eat anything just ordered a large Italian sub and have it delivered supposed to be toasted it was not I think they just waved it over the pizza oven and called it toasted if I could have gotten to Tilton house I would have gone to Tilton House Pizza at least there they know how to make a sub small Subs understaffed that's Al's I would recommend i would recommend going to Tilton and trying Tilton house they are definitely a five star restaurant very casual very friendly they will remember your name at Tilton house read more

I ordered a plain steak sub. I live 3 min up the road from this place. It took over an hour to get here, the delivery driver was creepy as can be, and to top it off I get inside and open my food, the sub looked like it had been submerged in grease and the fries were soggy asf. I ate barley any of it and have felt sick ever since. 0/10 this place is disgusting read more

Great place! My husband and I both bought Calzones this evening and I was pleasantly surprised by the place. The crust was nice -- "bread-y" and "yeasty." The sauce had a pleasant basil flavor to it. The staff was quite friendly. They made the two of us feel right at home. The only critique on an otherwise perfect experience is that one side of the room is quite dark. Even just a hanging lamp or flameless candles could add some needed light in that area. read more

I ordered from Al's for the first time today. The delivery was timely and the driver was polite. We ordered three pizzas: Al's Special, a two-way with pepperoni and anchovies; and a veggie pie. On all three pies, the crust was nice and crispy. The veggies were plentiful and flavorful. And, the anchovies on the two-way were not as overwhelming as they can be on some of the chain-made pizzas. Menu had typical items for a pizza and sub place. Prices were very reasonable I had the grilled chicken on a salad and it was only 5.25. The salad was your typical salad iceburg lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and green peppers(can a guy get a carrot in a salad anymore?). Al's is small town comfort food, we call here after a long, bad day and always feel better after a couple of calzones. Al's isn't pretending to be anything it's not - and with this place as any other, the service you receive can equate to the courtesy you extend to the people serving you. We can't speak for the bar area but if you don't want to be in a local bar with local color, you should probably just go to Applebees. Took over an hour and a half to deliver. Called an hour after order was placed and was very rude. " well we usually tell people 45 min to an hour. It'll be there when it gets there" Its now ten pm and just getting pizza now. I don't understand how it could take so long I live so close I could throw a rock at the place. Comes with plenty of fish, fries or onion rings and coleslaw-You know I think the onion rings might have come with it as well as the fries, Family owned is great for all ages-a bar out to the side serves adults, while ample space for kids and parents in the ordering district.
