Summary: Great tasting quality food. Good friendly service. A little on the pricey side. We have been coming here since they opened. The decor inside is very nice. (I don't necessarily like the TVs on the walls but I'm sure this is a plus when big sporting events are going on.) I really like the ceiling and lighting. The mural is very interesting also. We are always looking for good Mediterranean food and usually have to go to OC to find it. We are very happy to find a place so close to home! The food is amazing, high quality. The tabouli is awesome and refreshing, the humus is very good and fresh. I love the fried kibbeh. Try the cheese and meat borek, they are light and fluffy and amazing. Please support local business and give them a try you won't be disappointed! If I have any constructive critiques it would be to have some low key music playing and turn down the TV news channels. It might be cool to dim the lighting slightly at night for ambiance. If possible lower the prices slightly or have discounts for locals, military, police, fire etc. (If it was cheaper I would eat here at least once a week.) Bring out a small amount of free pita and hummus as an appetizer. I know it's a process but getting alcohol beverages will be amazing and adding a fountain drink system would be great too. Or at least pour the can of coke into the glass and bring it out that way instead of setting the can on the table. I don't give out stars lightly but I'm giving 5 here...lastly the owner Joe is always very pleasant and accommodating. I hope they will stay in corona for years to come. read more

This place is amazing and the food equally delicious. I ordered a chicken skewer and salad just to try as i wasn't super hungry tonight. The chicken was flavorful and tender and the salad was different but i added balsamic vinegar to it and it was delicious. The hummus was also delicious but if I have one request its the way they pack their pita bread (YES! It real pita opposed to other reviews) please wrap it in foil do that it doesn't harden up and become inedible) other than that Welcome to Corona and I look forward to trying your other dishes and especially your rice!!! read more

I was meeting a colleague here and randomly looked on Yelp and found this place. I was really glad we did. I had the Maklouba with lamb and it was probably the best Mediterranean food I have ever had. This dish has two layers off egg plant on top of rice which sandwich the lamb meat. The dish also had broken almonds on the side. It was large enough for me to take half back to my wife to enjoy and for someone that does not love lamb she found the dish to be delicious. It was pretty empty during lunch so if you don't want to wait and have delicious Mediterranean food definately come and support this business. My colleague had the chicken kabobs and it came with flat bread and sides. He even took another order for his wife Togo. They have lunch specials so definitely check this place out. read more

We picked up dinner from this place that recently just opened in my neighborhood. I love Mediterranean food and very excited that we have one restaurant close by the house. My boyfriend ordered lamb kabob entree, I ordered trio kabob entree with chicken, steak and lamb and deserts that I don't remember the name but made from cheese that the hostess recommended. The food was great, the entree come with kabob, hummus, cucumber salad with lettuce/iceberg, 1 thin pitas bread and safran rice. Everything tasted great flavorful even the rice, the reason I only give 4 stars because the meal was a little pricey they can give more salad, 1 more pita bread or a little more rice could gone a long way. I have been to Al Sham Multiple times. What I love about it is how authentic the food is. Often times I don't get to eat my grandmas mansaf or other meals because she is far away. Alsham catered my event and must say, very happy I had them as my choice. The food is authentic Syrian, and not a diluted in flavor to serve the masses. Dishes I ordered were: Saj chicken shawerma, Saj beef shawerma, moussaka, baba ghanoush, kibbeh, meat borek, cheese borek, TABBOULEH (omg so good!), cucumber yogurt, muhammara and madlouka. The Saj shawermas have a little extra step included in it compared to your typical shawerma sandwich, so def try it. Loved the smokey flavor in the baba ganoush - proof that the eggplant was actually slow roasted. No corners cut. Tabbouleh was soooo good - and I'm not even a big tabbouleh fan! Portions were generous. Owner, Yasser, was wonderful and easy to communicate with so ordering process was light and easy. I had a core of dishes I wanted included, and Yasser helped me round out my order to include other dishes that would be complimentary to the ones I already selected. For dessert, Alsham made us madlouka. Because this was a new dish to me, I decided to give it a try. I was super excited to see a new Mediterranean restaurant so close to home so we tried it out today for lunch. Will not be back the service was atrocious! I arrived at 11:30am the restaurant was completely empty, one hostess working as hostess and waitress she was not friendly at all. Soon after we were seated two older gentlemen arrived and for them she was all smiles, they came in after us yet they received water, utensils, napkins and a cheery disposition from the hostess while I had to ask for water 3 times and she looked annoyed. My friend had to request a fork for her food we had to ask for our check twice and there was NO ONE IN THE RESTAURANT. The hostess would literally tell me she was going to get our check then just stand at her hostess station staring at the TV! Unreal. The food was good but totally over priced. 2 wraps and an appetizer at lunch should not cost $33. Will never go back, they'll provably be closed in a few months I don't know many people chomping at the bit to spend lots of money to be treated like crap. Too bad. read more

My wife and I stopped in at random and we'"re very impressed with our meal. The best babaganoush in town by far. Pitas we're warm and tasty. I had the 3 kabob plate (beef, kafta and chicken). All were flavorful and juicy. The kabobs are served with a spicy lavash bread and garlic sauce that is phenomenal! Portion was huge, we could have easily split the entree and both had plenty.
